  1. y'see there's your problem- if you turn up in something V8, autro-american, carb-fed and preferrably pre-1980's, they'll all be lining up to bear your children
  2. that's certainly one avenue but what if ur dead set on retaining the OE 26 head? still a possibility?
  3. that's a pretty stout time... for old wimen or people recovering from major surgery
  4. Thinking about adding variable cam timing to my next GT-R. I know HKS had the V-cam setup, but does anyone know if VCT from an RB25 Neo can be adapted to the RB26 head? Anyone done it? What's involved?
  5. and it ensures we don't get yet more smacktards running around with GT-R badges plastered all over their GTSt's this currently seems most prevalent on 33's, from what i can see
  6. one thing it will ensure, is that this years thread gets to past 150 pages (versus last years 97). lol
  7. harder than your mum makes me, that's for sure
  8. How you come to that conclusion without knowing anything about me I'll never know. If we're playing the 'wild assumption' game; maybe you like to dress up as a school-girl and get your arse paddled by Madam Lash at the Emporium Of Pain? Who knows... FYI though: I have owned an R32 GT-R (does that qualify as 'racier than a keyboard'?, maybe we can start a poll?), and have done multiple track days with it, driving hard. I know from first hand experience that your cost breakdown is laughable using a resonably priced performance car (i.e- The ones that have been out for a fair while and have had enough parts developed for them that there is decent aftermarket choice) where you don't take it in the backside for upgraded parts. Not including the entry fee for a track day, you'd easily get away with additional expenses being around the same as you spend on fuel for the 'racing' (just don't fight for position under brakes, coz that's a no-no at these 'run-what-ya-brung' events)
  9. the vast majority of people would see track days where each lap effectively costs in the vacinity of $200 as being an absolute f**king rip-off, regardless of how perfect each 200ms gearshift is. maybe you should get a grip on reality before posting dumb shit like that
  10. R35's- nice idea in theory the fun/dollars ratio is gunna work out very poorly for the next 10 years...
  11. "i'm sorry sir- your car has an non factory approved air freshener tree on the rear-view mirror, your warranty is now void...." what a bunch of ass-hats
  12. good to see the wheel has a crusie-control setting for up to 300km/h
  13. just once more, eh?
  14. lol at knocking over slalom cone R35 GT-Rs HANDLE LIKE CRAP!, YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST!!111ty
  15. Yellow Pages, Brilliant Straight, Total and Budget are completely bogus names for parts of a race circuit
  16. no loss- i don't think it did anything bar pose all weekend anyway
  17. was all hogwash basically Dezz pros- more torque everywhere, more power, less combustion heat, less carbon buildup cons- your car will drink fuel like a sailor on shore leave, which more than compensates for the price difference to 98
  18. Yar, it's a shame Williams seem to have become a bunch of also-rans in the last 10 years or so. Just goes to show you how tough it is at the pointy end of competition. Would be good to see them find some form in the coming years, given their F1 racing pedigree.
  19. Wasn't Lewis on inferior tyres due to the way the pipstops and weather played out? I can't exactly remember
  20. there is a straight conversion you can do to get Nm from the kW line by an equation using revs at each point times a constant, i just can't remember what that constant is (the computer that runs the dyno only does the equation tractive effort x revs x constant anyway, since power is a derived value)
  21. But that's racing; It's a team effort, unless you're driving a kart that doesn't need refuelling during a race, i suppose. If the Scuderia are too sozzled on lambrusco to remember to remove the fuel hose before sending the drivers on their way, or heck, haven't really got a handle on how to regularly make an engine last 2 full races before expiring, then t.s for them I say Heaven help them this year getting motors to last for 3, even with the 1000rpm reduction in the peak rev limit. So Vettel, with nothing to lose (finished 8th in the WDC, as you'd prolly know), decides to push the envelope, knowing he may as well go balls out, versus Hamilton, with everything to lose (again) who takes it more cautiously to ensure a finish, and that makes Vettel better? Great logic there. IF the race was a lap shorter, sure it would have been different. But there are always plenty of 'what ifs?' in every race season. --- p.s My post from earlier today should read "FIA hadn't" rather than "FIA hasn't"
  22. they did win the WCC if the FIA hasn't shown outrageous bias in meddling in race affairs for the benefit of Ferrari (during and post) so many times, Lewis would have had an unassailable lead in the WDC points and Philipa wouldn't have lost the crown on the last corner of the last race anyway. (still makes me smile that, though )
  23. i'd not seen that- great CAD animation
