can you set one of the meter functions to indicate when the motor needs the spun big-end bearings replaced?

I'm not a fan of the styling, but the 2JZ and the factory 6-speed have got the same era Skylines whipped for durability. The 33 and 34 GT-Rs do have better brakes though.
why haven't you taken the head off to have a look yet? you could get out of it fairly cheaply if all you need is a light head recondition and a new head gasket?
light pre-ignition or pinging will sound kinda like theres coins jangling around inside the cylinders. you can hear it easy enough with the stereo off.
It's always nice to drive a car before you buy it, but as long as the kays are genuine, the grade/accident history is accurate, and the import company can pretty much guarantee the safety of the car- then i guess you'd be okay.
