If by 'assembly' you mean both joints and the drive-shaft, that'd be really expensive. Just buy a new CV and boot kit to suit.

Shocks could be stuffed and no longer have enough rebound damping control. Even if the car really does have only 66K's, this could be the case. -

Both odo's have prolly been wizzed to some extent. If there's no original log-books, then don't believe either. -

Yerp. Small section missing will cause a massive centrifugal loading on the shaft and bearings at high revs. A few grams static would be in the order of 10's of kilograms at well over 80K rpm.

Check and make sure the ATTESA computer is still actually in place and plugged in under the rear parcel shelf, too.
