Vpw's shipment of ARP fastners got delayed, so it slowed motor build. Ended up getting some headstuds off US ebay, hoping they arrived today, but nup. Will get some more pics of the car next time im at my mates place (car is there, motor is at the old mans haha) Only ceff related thing I have at home is the turbo. Pic just for kris, other turbo is a 2871r. Power figure? Who knows, 30psi should make things interesting.

As the Rb30 motor sits, picking up the head from the machinists tomorrow. Just after It got smashed up, destroyed a gaurd, headlight, corner light and the rad support. Abit pig looking, but still plenty of skids were done. Will get a few more pics when I find em. Cheers,

Lads, "Kris" busted my balls a couple times to do a build thread, a recent "where are they now?" thread on NS plus me being abit bored = ceffy members thread. Short history: Car was imported and was driven reasonably hard by softy and A31cefiro, copping a few hits, upgrades and paint jobs along the way. Sort of knew softy years ago when he lived in Melbourne, was chatting to him one day and he proposed a price and said "bring ya towcar and trailer" Price was decent, knowing the car needed some work I pulled the cash outta the bank and organised patricks autocare to pick the ceff up from his old mans work. Car arrived, I slapped it together (turbo plus a few other things needed putting back on) then street skidded it. Not long after, Organised rego (cheers phil!!) got a rwc for it, did more drift. Got into abit of carnage and got slammed by another driftcar, resulting in front drivers qaurter damage. Drove it with the damage for abit, more skids then got defected, yay. Took it off the road, did rb25 and matching box convo, some more skids, had a few bugs to sort out, slowly sorted them out and then leaned out no 6 cyl, killing the 25. Off the road again for motor and maintence. Currently how it sits: SPECS: Bodywork: vespa blue with gold pearl flaired gaurds series 1 rear bar series 2 front bar with lip "square" headlights (f**kin candles they are) chrome grill Wheels: Bronze CST 17x9.5 +15 all round, 215/45 fedrals up front, whatever 235/45 rears. Skidders: 17x9 +20 PIAA x4, 17x9 +17 and 17x8 +30 P1's Suspension and brakes: old as the hills JIC front coilovers Captital D rear coilovers, toe and camber arms, S14 front Lca's, s14 rack strut braces R32 GTR front brakes, rebuild calipers, aftermarket pads Ceff rear brakes redrilled to 5 stud (going to r32gtst soon as i find a cheap enough setup forsale) Interior: old eastbear fixed back for drivers r33 gtst passenger seat unknown velour rear seat full cage momo ferrari edition steering wheel omori gauges Driveline: R33 box, NPC clutch with billet flywheel Unknown ratio and brand 2 way Lsd Motor: (still not finished assembling the damn thing) RB30det using a r33 RB25 head. Mahle pistons Spool rods Crank grubscrewed Block linebored and decked, bored to suit pistons, restrictors fitted N1 oil pump with JPC gears Ross balancer VCT deleted 272 8.8mm lift cams with gears reco head rb20 front timing covers IHI C7 turbo on a highmount trust manifold, trust wastegate. 740cc injectors ebay copy greedy inlet q45 throttle body z32 AFM Theres heaps of other stuff ive probably forgotten, will update as I change / fix stuff. Will get some pics up of how it looked over the years aswell as some motor building pics. Cheers,

Lads, Did a search, couldnt find anything useful Just finished bolting the bottom end together, inspected my collection of idlers and tensioners and have decided that they need to be replaced. Now, Can RB30 ones be used? I'd assume being a aus sold motor, that they will be cheaper than a tensioner/idler to suit rb25's? Any info would be great before I call around tomorrow Cheers, Dan

Is it currently drivable? (even enough to get on a frieght truck) R200 Lsd? Rust in the bottom of the strut towers in the engine bay? Keen to see pics of all rust spots. Cheers

Stock bumpers with a lip

If your going to the effort to import, you'd atleast bring over a coupe fj 1600, worth about the same price, even then the rear 1/4's would possibly be full of bog. Tough decision, I say carry on with the current project and actually complete it

Thread revival! Budget got raped... large majority on funds were spent on the oiling system, still shooting for max reliability. VCT has got the ass, mainly due to a pair of 272 8.8mm lift cams finding there way to my shed, possibly too large, but for $330 the pair, Im willing to try them out. Starting to assemble the bottom end on the weekend, will throw up a few pics as it progresses.

They are just the rocker covers. Fitted for something different

I dont mind it when its in the black ceff front ute guise, about 1min 5 secs in. *puts flame suit on* haha

had a lip for awhile, recent changes were chrome grill and 17x9.5 +15 cst's all round. considering leaving the 'VN exec' look for blue bumpers and weathersheilds (if i can find some) Oh and the gap, my car isnt in the best nick, body and panel wise and the bar is cable-tied on, haha

Lads, selling this for a mate, please dont pm me ring the number if interested. As the topic suggests, mid/high mount greddy manifold to suit rb20/25. Manifold is 2 track days and a few dyno runs old, car was used for track only. Its in good nick, no cracks or previous repairs. T4 flange. Selling due to it coming with a motor package he brought, and not needed as he's running a t3 flanged turbo. Price: $700ono Location: Western burbs, Melbourne. Please contact Shamal on 0421525404 if interested. Cheers,

Surprised it still has the rear arms in it.

10k! I was thinking 5/6k due to it posssibly being a bog box. D-Limo, sarcasm? Get rid of the ugly Mk1's, change to some big ssr mesh and lower it to the shithouse and it has potential.

thoughts on price it will fetch being very modified? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/1985-DR30-RS-X-Turb...=item414f40fca7

Do it. tune, exh gets you a torqey ~240rwkw. Its near standard so no reliability problems, have a tuff gearbox, cheap and easy to get and are lighter than a RB. Im still sort of dissapointed I went twin cam Rb30 over the Ls1. Police attention? Just get it engineered.

Twin Webbers And Stage 2? Cam .... Worth?
works 510 replied to spiderclaw's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
What everyone else said. Plus its illegal to pull efi off and go back to carb. Could argue that the motor was out of a patrol though? (they are carby) Extractors, exhaust, nistune maybe a small cam. GTS2's had 142kw at the flywheel, only had the above mods (had a piggyback style ecu, not nistune tho) -
Anyone? Doing a scrap run soon and need to know if they are worth anything

Hey, Did a search, couldnt find info Amongst the mass pile of parts/junk ive collected over the years, I have a pair of RB cams that have 'U5' cast on them. What are they out of, rb20 or rb26? Cheers,
-
I had a look "CEFF1E"s car which had a stock exh manifold with from memory had a 20mm spacer. This was in a rb30det R32. Apart from the ext wastegate, such a sleeper engine bay!
