  1. Couldn't paint a bigger target on your a55 if you TRIED hahahahhahahah
  2. I got Toyo T1R's about a month ago. The grip is ok, but the sidewall is VERY weak compared to both Falken 326 and Maxxis MA-Z1, distractingly so. I will go with Bridgestone or Michelin next time.
  3. I had a new Xtreme clutch and lightened flywheel put in the other day. Car now feels ready for the kinda changes I'll throw at it Good job guys. But I can't say I'll ever get a twin/triple plate put in... my new one feels very on/off as is and it's only single plate! Just very heavy duty (very manageable though, I'm just a matter of getting the hang of it). Twins and triples must be insane.
  4. Saw marc2's munted white Stagea in the back of his shop while having my steering looked at... Ouch. ... Also saw his nice yella Stagea... Nice!
  5. Urotsukidoji (haha let's see u follow that...)
  6. SOLD I have two spare air conditioner stepper motors (upper and lower) for an R33. They are in perfect working order. If the dashboard of your R33 goes "CLACK CLACK CLACK" when the A/C comes on, or when you play with it's settings, it's a pretty sure thing you need to replace one or both of these motors. These are the ones where the little teeth break off and then the stepper motor(s) don't know when to stop moving, giving you the annoying clacking noise. Nisswreck and other places charge $125 for EACH of these motors. I'm after $70 each or $130 for both, including shipping anywhere in AU. If you can pick up within the ACT I'll do a better price. PM an Mail me to be sure I get messages, or try 0404 896 713. Cheers.
  7. 25yo max no claims 97 R33 GTST here. Torque don't insure under 30yo's. Famous have apparently all been busy 'on the phone' the past 3 hours. Suncorp are well presented (on the phone) and appear to include a lot of options, but they DON'T do agreed value, only market. And I don't think I'd like to be paid 12700 (redbook for a PERFECT car) compared to my current JCI which is for 22500 agreed (already less than it's actually worth to me). I pay 1900/year, but for agreed value of nearly 10k more than market, I think it's worth it to me!
  8. Bess (let's see who else makes the obscure connection...)
  9. What $weetDreamz said made me wonder: Which skylines (if any) have sway bars in stock form, and (more importantly to me) does a stock R33 S2 GTST have mounts for swaybars? I'm considering putting some in and want to know if it will be an addition, or merely a replacement of existing parts. Cheers.
  10. I had a pair until about 3 weeks ago, they were out of round (means exactly how it sounds, they were OVALs). Knowing my luck and that Maxxis are a brand with a reasonable background, I doubt this is a common thing (but that didn't stop me getting Toyos instead, just in case the shop I bought from got a whole bad batch). I'd say the grip was about 50% better than the Falken 326 I had previously, but nowhere near the Toyo T1Rs I have now (but which cost twice as much...).
  11. Check your tyres aren't 'out of round'. That just happened to me. Jack up each corner, and spin the wheel with your hand. If you can see the leading edge of any of the tyres wobbling in and out compared to where was before you span it, then you've got out of round tyres.
  12. It might not the be same sound, but in mine I get a loud Clack or Click noise when I change gears (can only hear it in the lower changes, where significant masses are exchanged and the engine noise isn't so loud), and also when I am in reverse and play around with the clutch catch point. My mech said it's a ball-headed bolt that sits between two thick wires on the same arm thing as the throw-out bearing. The thing that makes your problem sound familiar is that some said it happens on gear changes and/or when there is load on the drivetrain, that's exactly when mine occurs (e.g. a clumsy change will also show it up fairly obviously). But the sound I hear is most definitely from the gearbox/clutch area, so like I said, might not be the same. My clutch is getting changed out on Tuesday, so I'll try to get a recording of the sound before then. Suggestions for where it can be uploaded? (if anyone is interested...)
