M35 Dash Mount Media Computer
nickcorr replied to scotty nm35's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I was in China last week for work. and it looks like suction cup windscreen mounts for iPed, aPad etc. are all becoming available... Should be on eBay soon... -
I also got confused with this as my compliance paperwork said that 3 replacement cats had been fitted... I now reckon that this was Ben just getting his PM35 compliance paperwork sorted out...

About The Xenon Light And Workshop
nickcorr replied to mrfai's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Yes I think the wording would be is self levelling, because the Citroens with the self leveling suspension, do not need manual height adjustable headlamps that are also an EU requirement. And the ADR's are becoming basically a rehash of the EU regs. -

Thanks for that didn't know about the US... Same as Japan I assume, developed for local market only.. The Euro's are paranoid about glare from dirt and missalignment, well that is the official excuse under EU regs.. With the RWC, I did not think that the testers would actually have to look for real xenons (gas discharge) vs xenon gassed conventional bulbs and that is now people are getting away with it. I know that they have a some data that they need to check, like brake dimensions (had to tell them to compare my M35 as a 350Z when I got mine done) but was not sure about the bulbs. Will be more careful in future with RWC garages... Just as an interest thing... Obviously the ADR's are a national level thing... But with the RWCs or equivalent in each state, are they the same? Being that they are state based rather than national? -
About The Xenon Light And Workshop

Auto leveling and washers are basically manditory for Xenons in all markets except Japan... That's why they are not legal under the ADRs and why they are supposed to be changed during compliance. Compliance is basically remaking the car to ADR specs... This used to include impact bars in the doors and the moving the steering wheel on LHD cars. But RWC is looking at the lights from a brightness and aiming point of view, hence why they generally will pass. -

My factory Xenon's passed Vic RWC without any problems... -
98 all the way!! There is no car currently sold in Australia that the engineers have designed for 91 octane.... Even the AUS designed vehicles are optimised for at least 95 octane as that is used for emissions and fuel consumption testing...

Which Tyre For 225 45 18 On An M35
nickcorr replied to samuri's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
The tyre size you need on your car for vicroads to register it is stated in three places... 1: the tyre placard on the vehicle. 2: the RAW Scheme Vehicle Inspection Certificate 3: the Consumer Information Notice Also, do not forget that for Victoria, the new VIN must be stamped into the car. This is in addition to the new VIN plate fastend during compliance. -
Which Tyre For 225 45 18 On An M35
nickcorr replied to samuri's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I had this issue.... The compliance guys fitted an incorrect tyre placard onto my AR-X saying that 235/50 18 were the stock tyre... Problem was my car had 225/55 18 tyres on it... VicRoads refused to register it.. They said that they could see that the 225/55 were legal, and even that the Japanese tyre placard said that they were the correct size, but either the tyre placard or the tyres needed to be changed... They did give me a free unregistered vehicle permit and kept my number plates and all the paperwork ready to go. The bloke said if I could get back later that day, then just to push in at his window and he woudld sort it out. Luckily there was a local Beurepaires that was able to get me some really nice, if a little expensive, 235/50 Goodyear Eagle F1's (my favourite tyre from having them on many cars before) in a couple of hours.. they also gave me a load of airmiles and free inspection/rotation deal, that I have been back for.. It wasn't the cheapest option, but I was able to get out of VicRoads and drive off with my number plates fitted.. The origional tyres are sitting in my shed under a tarp, and when the time comes, Beurepaires said that they would refit them for free.. wrote it up on the recipt for the F1s. Alternative was to get compliance guys to send me a new placard. This would have taken a couple of days, and VicRoads said that I would need to make a new appiointment, which would be in a couple of weeks... I was happy to pay for the new tyres and get the number plates... But I also now have a placard stating that 225/55 18 and 235/50 18 are both standard.. -

Check Out This Cargo Net On The M35
nickcorr replied to Houdini's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Does it fit? After all they are the same company.... New Renault Latitude shown at Sydney motor show is a Maxima, made by Samsung in Korea... Same as Renault Koleos being X-Trail based, and Tiida being Clio based... Damn cheese eating surrender monkeys... -
That's what I heard as well..... I always used to tie a piece of rope between my tow ball and the trailer hitch, just to make sure that the car was on the "grippy" part of the boat ramp.. Used to see these idiots reversing their entire boot into the water..

Another Victorian AR-X!! WooHoo!!!

Maybe meet up for a coffee in Berwick or Fountain Gate during the day?

Berwick... That's really round the corner from me....

When I had Falcon and Commonwhore hire cars, I could see the trip computer drop by about 0.1 or 0.2 l/hr from drive to neutral. Has to make some tiny difference as you are no longer sloshing around the fluid in the torque converter... I think this is one of the reasons why CVTs have such good fuel consumption, as they actually have a clutch pack that completely disengages whilst stationary... In the UK people who have driving lessons in autos are taught to move the transmission into Neutral and apply the handbrake when stationary, as this is what you would do in a manual vehicle. Prevents accidents caused by people who might accidently take their foot off the brake pedal.
-
Actually... Some modern transmissions do shift into neutral when they sense the vehicle is not moving... All in the name of extracting better fuel consumption...

Finally spotted!!!! Only taken 4.5 years, and two different imports!!! I assumed that our cars had arranged some lunch catch up... Cam's just jealous because his car was not invited...
-
Hey!! I resent that... I'm just big boned...

That Delica is basically a Pajero with a people mover body on it, so is perfect snow transport... They do impress people with their ability, as they don't with their looks....

Very nice mate!!! Great example of what can be done with a lot of effort and ingenuity/skill. Really glad you went with with an M35...

Many of the cars with Bi Xenons do not actually have two sets of bulbs but rely on a souped up head light leveler to trim the entire light unit to main beam, or dipped beam position...

Yes only proper turbo petrol engine (factory fited) in a Nissan vehicle anywhere in the world is the 3.8 GT-R motor... Unless they are looking at the 0.7 turbo, 1.6 turbo, or even the 1.2 3 cylinder supercharged motor in the new Micra... Seems more likely to be the 2.5 Direct Injection motor similar to the one in the Maxima..
