Power fc is good because of the hand controller. U can monitor the engine vitals which is a great thing. But this also attracts the police.
Nistune is more cost effective but is very stealth and will get the same results as a power fc tune
Is it a manual ecu? And manual loom?
Auto has a nuetraul and park switch that needs to be bypasses when running with auto loom and ecu or it wont letthe engine fire
Is it a missfire at 5000rpm?
If it is go to supercheap and get some bkr6es ngk-r spark plugs and put them in.
Hopefully running this spark plug which has a smaller gap will help stop the missfire. Otherwise u will need new coilpacks
A mate had this happen 2weeks ago. Failed injector was his cause.
I had
This happen on my old s13, the wiring rubbed through near my ecu on that one.
Scary when it happens
Good answer Deano, thanks.
Rondofj - in short terms tuning for maximum power on the street is a mix of seat of the pants feel and experience mixed with some guesswork. There is no real way to check an engines power on the street unless u were at the drags data logging continous runs and making adjustments.
Sometimes u road tune then put it on the dyno and u will find an extra 20-30kw.
Sometimes like 2weeks ago i tuned Sir Rb's Nistuned GTR on the dyno after previously road tuning it and we couldnt get any more gains over the road tune as it was already at its peak of 275kw 18psi.
referring back to the original pot, You CAN use a Haltech with the stock ECU, you will need a Haltech Platinum Interceptor $799 retail, these only control apark and fuel basically, just a piggy back.
otherwise get a nistune
All tuners should be able to get the same results as each other.
No offence to the big mobs but some of them spend very little time on cruise tuning and fuel consumption. And just try and get that glorious number that everyone wants.
My vote goes for Yavuz. He has taught me alot and is the smartest tuner i have met
you have to remember that enlarging the oil galleries and the oil return from the back of the head are great for letting oil back down but also let crankcase pressure up to the head.
I have noticed when tuning that wen trying to get a stoich mixture 14.7 afr at idle that most nissans start to pop on idle.
I richen it up to fix this. But unfortunately if u dont have an ecu that can be tuned u will have to live with it.
U could try a new ecu coolant temp sensor. Might be playing up causing an excessive rich mixture causing black smoke
Dont stress about the small pops in the exhaust at idle. Very common.
Try bleeding the cooling system again. With engine cold.
Heater on radiator cap off and open the bleeder to make sure water comes out. Then bleeder back in.
Start the engine and let idle. Let it get up to temp with the rad cap off and see if any air comes out.
Try this and see how u go.
Is there any blue smoke etc from exhaust
