  1. yes they can be fixed. it will take a fair bit more than $500 to do it. (about $850.). other option is to put an aftemarket unit in it with the 2DIN radio panel swapped in. one issue you will have (if you fixed it) is the nav. it routes audio via the drivers door. TV and AUX audio are also affected. so what ever you use needs to have an AUX in.
  2. remake the panel and anything is possible.
  3. not bad. a suggestion if I may, http://www.precisioncaraudio.com.au/ ex alpine tech there that can probably do the same job and make it sound great.. at the very least give them a ring
  4. was it you that spoke to me regarding the job and going to northwest?
  5. all of that was tied to the oe alarm - to which it all came out. left the button there as a hole filler.
  6. first image hase EVERYTHING to put them back in. didnt see how long the leads were but if there is length there then the rest will be VERY obvious when you tear the car down. the second image was the dealer fitted alarm that I ripped out. it also had the ctsy lights on it - easiest way to put them back in (which I wouldn't bother as there is NOT a slot for them) is to tie off the main light in the roof. if he sends that pile to you there is a LOT of crap there. I removed it. 90% of it was in with scotchlocks anyway. door lights and boot lights are standard if they had the lights in the footwell then its dealer or customer added. have seen both and both were equally as messy. exactly. that said I would grab some from a barina or mazda 626 hatch if you were going to do it. they are neater than the ones I pulled out. in regard to lights - beam pattern. the reflectors are different.
  7. which viper are you looking at?? there are certain alarms for certain applications - what is yours?
  8. no that will work fine. when you get back to it you 'may' need a battery depending on how long the car sits.
  9. easier to pull it off. don't partially take it loose the whole lot will flip up if you do. theres 10 bolts/snaps to release and its gone.
  10. turn the siren off and set the thing off... you will find it then
  11. bumper comes straight off. easier to pull the lights with it off. not everyone is tech savvy trust me.
  12. yep - remember those coming out.. they will go straight back in with a bit of effort.
  13. start by pulling ALL the fuses. one is dead.
  14. arm and disarm it a few times with the siren off - listen for the clicks...
  15. your job shows how you work.( I like it.) draw it in a diagram and let the others work it out
  16. autobarn, switch,relay and terminals.
  17. that will do as well. you will need to drill a hole in the catch. I use the mitsi one so I do not have to mod the catch.
  18. cyclops - strathfield.
  19. sedan - under parcel tray in boot - drivers side. coupe - under panel rear passenger side in boot. F50 cima - left rear quarter behind a LOT of trim. whatcha upto?
  20. that side of things is fully sorted.
  21. yep stock one. have a literal pile of test gear I'm going to pile in the back of it.. need two actually- yours will do for one but I'm now looking for variances. prefer a later 04+ one.( jon are you available??)
  22. I need a test mule for this. want to 'tinker' with the OE tv system. have a few ideas that I would like to try and need a CAR AND TV TUNER to do it. will need the car for the day at least. prefer if it was a car I have worked on previously. tuner needs to be a TDV3100 F/V (I have a 3100V in front of me.) at the very least I want to *try* to get a picture lock on ch6 (ch7 AU.) as it is the closest one in the tables. changes will not be permanent at this stage.
  23. yes you are. thats the only real way to do it unless you know someone with a new one.
  24. 1 Ipod solution coming up
