  1. Yeh , Sean I'd go grab a set of those $100 ramps from Repco, the ones with the lowered car extensions - the standard ones are useless for a lowered car. Safety first, bro. I have done some stupid sh1t working under cars in the past, and been very lucky a couple of times. I don't take risks anymore after a friend of mine's husband had his car fall on him in his garage - she didn't find him for a couple of hours - but they are pretty confident he was killed instantly.
  2. Sold pending payment. Cheers Mat
  3. ITEM: Rays wheel nuts 12x1.25 (20) incl lock nuts and key CONDITION: used. Wear on edges from spline drive, but can't be seen once on the wheel. PRICE: $40+postage (pickup avail) LOCATION: Melb (Southbank) VIC Hi guys - these are used, but legit items. They came new with a set of 5k Volk LE37's - but I have since sold those rims to a Supra owner who had a different stud pitch so couldn't use. I know there are fakes out there, but these are genuine. Regardless, I am asking less than what the fakes cost anyway. Includes 4 locking nuts with coded key.
  4. Lol. Well someone better call Paul at Chasers and tell him he can't tune.....buzz not. It might have been before or after the emanage was in. - I can't remember - bit what I distinctly remember was the way it would R&R at anything over stock boost and engage a secret getaway fuel vapor cloud from the exhaust haha. Anyway - great cars - but still heavy on fuel. OP - If you want me to swing past SSV and have a look at that yellow one just let me know.
  5. Saw this on the way home tonight - dandenong rd - not sure how he did it but he did a pretty good job of it. Both door skins gone, all airbags deployed, front steering collapsed and took out a fire hydrant. It was peak hour traffic too so I have no idea how he got that much speed up .... ....and can't post the pic because no iPhone friendly forum. Soz.
  6. You must have a sizeable bank account to be quoting on aragosta's. If you're not happy with your billies then aragosta or ohlins are your only real upgrades..... Bilstiens are pretty awesome - so it's surprising you're unhappy - or is it just that you want a stiffer setup? If that's the case, you should just get them rebuilt with custom valving - that's the beauty of Bilstiens. Shops like Fulcrum can turn your Bilstiens into what ever you want them to be. I would suggest signing up to zclub.com.au and asking the question there. Those guys far more regularly track their cars, and given the suspension is the same I reckon you'll get better answers backed by experience there. I know for example there is a guy on there (MR RIZK) that has just sold his PSS10's for Ohlins. I reckon asking him your question would get you all the answers you need. cheers Mat
  7. Hey guys, this is a thread to share updates on mods and work you've been doing on your V-Series. I'll kick it off. Fitted a BlackVue DR400G-HD2 Camera to my car - living in Melbourne I've had 3 cars vandalised in the past 10 years. Using motion sensors, this camera will record video activity sequences that go on around my car when it's parked. It also records video and audio when you're driving, including speed and exact GPS location - both features which would come very much in hand if you have to file or dispute an insurance claim. Coupled to an alarm and immobiliser, it just helps me sleep at night a little easier http://www.autoblackbox.com.au/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=83
  8. That yellow one is at SSV - I drive pas it every day. Apart from it being a horrendous colour and as a result, a liability to sell when the time comes - my Stagea came from SSV (who have been in the import biz since the beginning) and it was a great car, so I'd take all the 'dodgy' calls with a grain of salt. I'd hold out for an rs4-s if you can. Stronger driveline (identical to r33 gt-r) much nicer interior, and arguably better on fuel. Which brings about the next point - dont buy one of these unless you have shares in a petroleum company. They drink like fish. So for a family truckster, it might not be so nice. People who still own them will say otherwise but mine did 23L/100km around town with the occasional boot - and that was jus with basic mods and boost increase tuned on a greddy emanage ultimate......
  9. I can confirm its qx1
  10. Undercover garage?? (Most important detail left out!)
  11. Was typing up this response to the other thread when it got LOCKED so now my thoughtful contribution will have to be relegated to the wasteland but anyway......maybe if @R31Nismoid feels it fair then he can move it across - regardless..... This has all been pretty interesting but I think it's largely hyperbole. I think people should take a step back and think about what the actual outcome vs the intended outcome will be. I can understand the enthusiasts reaction, and I can understand the VicPol reaction. VicPol will be rubbing their hands together - whoever created that facebook page with best intentions has effectively created a fantastic PR opportunity for VicPol to grandstand and appeal to the masses of society who are already offside with 'hoons' - to paint it as a targeted and vindictive attack on one of their own. Already they struggle to control a public image issue whereby people feel they can challenge police verbally, physically and legally at every turn. When you combine this with a communication medium that is already being widely panned for 'trolling' and other unsavoury conduct - it is the perfect scenario for people to amplify an already poor opinion of the car enthusiast community. Forget the details of the particular fine. It's a 'win/win' for them. For car enthusiasts, I understand the frustration we have in that we are already disempowered by public opinion that won't allow us a voice of reason - even when members of this forum have attended so called 'open discussions' for current affair programs, the footage is so edited and twisted that any represetation always falls upon the lowest common denominator - the few 'bad apples' that bring the whole scene down. So to lash out and target one identifiable personality within the HWP probably seemed like a desperate (and as it turns out, effective) way of bringing attention to our 'plight'. But probably not the best way. When you couple a general misunderstanding of the community to a complete lack of understanding of the ADR laws which we're being held to - getting any sympathy from the general public is going to be futile. Case in point - this Dylan fella with the 86 is referring to 'factory spec DRL's' - I guarantee that 95% of people who heard that radio interview would have no idea what DRL's are. Thus they walk away with the same opinion that continues to hold us down - that we're all young, rebellious, overly opinionated and refusing to accept responsibility. I don't know what the answer is - I would say 'write a letter' but we all know full well that it will fall upon deaf ears. I would say nominate a well spoken and informed 'enthusiast' to represent the community in a public debate - but that was tried and failed. So the best thing I can think of is to just continue to represent the community as best as you can - attend sanctioned events and behave accordingly, re-educate misinformed people about our community in an intelligent and level headed way when possible, and above all - resist the temptation to conform to the stereotype. If it means staying away from the cruise hot spots, driving defensively and sedately in heavy traffic, and not deliberately pushing your luck with outrageous wheel fitment, exhausts and ride height - we can try prevent a bad situation from continuing to become worse.
  12. thanks sean, have you got a set? yeh - this car won't be getting track work. It was purely about saving tyres and getting as close to factory specs as possible. more or less just wanted something with solid quality - adjustment that wouldn't back out over time - and quality bushes and ball joints (nothing sh1ts me more than clunking and knocking suspension parts.) I couldnt find a bad review on these. With the BC coilovers on their way, whiteline swaybars front and rear, SPC rear camber arms and toe bolts - the A-arms are the final piece of the puzzle. Plan is to sit the car bang on 100mm of clearance to keep it legal and then dial all the arms in to factory spec with instructions to make the tyres last as long as possible whilst still clearing the gaurds. Now to find someone who can dial it all in!
  13. i know a bloke who dyno'd his R33 GTS-T sedan (auto) at a dyno day and was devastated when it only put out 63rwkw. there was much embarassment and head scratching. worked out later it had the snow button turned on hahah.
  14. Didn't muck around. Bought a set of these.....look so damn nice, it's a shame to tuck them all the way up in a strut tower!
  15. Don't think so - I'm on Tein h-tecs which are only a 15mm front/8mm drop over factory - they are the most subtle drop you can get. When I say ride, I am referring to clunks and thumps that loose ball joints and wandering bushes will cause. Read some shocking reviews on Ichiba arms detailing this. Obviously I'll be doing a wheel alignment when the new rims arrive - but a set of camber arms is cheaper than replacing as set 245/30/20's every 5000kms - so I'm doing my research. But thanks for your concern!
  16. did this end up going anywhere? I can see just by looking down the side of my car that the fronts have way too much neg camber, and probably explained why my last set of tyres were trashed on the inner shoulder. I am looking at front camber arms (already have SPL rears) - is this group buy a go? Has anyone done any more researche into the SPL knocking issues on the fronts? Last thing I want is to ruin the ride.
  17. Didn't you drive a fanta orange S15?! And yeh - not gunmetal. Brembos deserve some attention! Just bought BC Coilovers.....so looks like a 'wheels off and car on stands' day in the garage will be happening regardless. Might be a good time to paint.
  18. If he declares value at under $1000 aud then you won't pay the 10% GST at import. So if he writes $750 you're sweet.
  19. good work - really tidy's things up hey! what do they cost out of interest? I was lucky enough to buy my car with one already installed.
  20. Cheery Terry - i did come across his thread when i was searching for color pics. The polished Brembos look AMAZING - but I think even he said so himself that he'd never do another set again haha. I don't mind doing the work - it's more the logistics of getting the brakes off, dumping the fluids, and re-bleeding when I don't have a permanent garage space that would allow me to do so. I'm motivated though - this will happen eventually - but I think i might wait for my rims to arrive so i can see the colour with my own eyes - might help me chose the brake caliper colour.
  21. excellent bit of info - thanks aaron.
  22. Nice - would be even cleaner looking with a delete of that MSWord skate font 'skyline' sticker......
  23. Yep - going to buy a bunch of decals in diff colours to see what works best. Then VHT high temp clear over top. Doubt they'd fall off but they might be a bit more durable against things like wheel cleaner and high pressure hoses. Not even started mate - I'd like to get the job done over xmas. But the trouble is I live at a body corporate controlled apartment building which says no car work in the garage - i do small bits n pieces but things like cars on axle stands etc would be pushing it. I usually do work at my parents place in their garage, but they've since painted the floor and made it look schmick - and then told me i'm banned from there So i'm not sure exactly when this will get done.
  24. I'd be happy with 390.
