  1. g35driver.com those guys have much more experience with this kind of stuff. but if i had to make a decision off the cuff, I'd go supercharger. S/C PROS: a) they sound sick b) in a heavy car like the V-series, bottom end torque to get the party started is key - s/c has this in spades, turbo does not. c) easier to bolt on/bolt off. If you get done for emissions, or if you need to sell the car - you can part out within a day. Turbo you've got to deal with manifolds, loads of plumbing etc. d) from what i've seen, the kits avail are bolt on with a piggyback ECU in most cases. No expensive standalone management required - turbo might require this to get the most out of it. S/C CONS: a) the noise isn't for everyone - if you do long distances or have nagging missus, the constant 'jet whine' might get old after a few hours on the freeway. b) Engine drag - steer clear of the top mounted screw type chargers - they don't fit without a bonnet, and the drag created for the power delivered is pretty dismal - thinking the Stillen for example. Pro-charger style much more efficient and look neater. c) Not as stealthy - pro-charger tucked behind the headlight looks nice especially if painted black- but still never going to be as 'hidden' as a low mounted turbo. Your piping setup will make or brake though. I like stealthy setups, not flashy ones. There is a s/c setup on zclub.com.au for about 3k which is very cheap - but does not come with management. Could be a good start though? Otherwise I've seen US built kits start around the 6k mark minus shipping and taxes, and the HKS one is around a 8k start. Anyway - thats a start !
  2. Thanks for the swap offers people - keep it coming. At the same time, cash talks, and the price is reasonable but it is also ONO. To give people an idea, here is the only set I have been able to find that has sold in Australia. Sold in Jan this year, similar condition but obviously these ones were a square setup for AWD - no Top Secret decals and no tyres. Mine have more lip and concavity on the rear, have the Top Secret decals intact, carbon centre caps, come with tyres and Rays wheel nuts. http://www.importmon...roducts_id=1277

  4. well then it sounds like you're SOL and just need to put this down to experience and hope that Karma does the rest.
  5. I used to run a 235 on a 19x10.5 That was on a 2 tonne Lexus LS400 as well - daily driven - never had an issue. Yes you chew tyres when your're running extreme neg camber - but I found that running high tyre pressures helped because you convex the tread surface (which rounds the shoulder) and also protects the wheel. Also ran Achilles ATR's - they are 800 tread wear - yes, they're like rocks and grip like a slippery pig - but they last for ever! VIP life yo. Anyway - this is getting O/T. OP hasn't even come back to post, but he did say in his first post that he would probably run 275 rears.
  6. Lol - yeh they are precious - but they draw too much attention, and some nights I have to park on the street and I'm paranoid about some sneaky Gollum coming along and flogging them. I'm sure the 350Z boys will snap them up. But I'm in no hurry. Unless I get a swap I've got no idea what I'd put on there to replace them. Although something like these would be just fine ;-)
  7. Cheers - they really are a nice wheel - but i recently got badly burnt on a set of Enkei RPF01's that were gold and I just seem to have a thing about gold wheels now! That being said, every time I drive past a shop window and see the reflection of the car, they really do suit it very well...... But I want to go something 2 or 3-piece that I can split and repaint the centres. Open to swaps too for wheels of similar size/spec/value.
  8. Will also consider swaps for other rims in similar size/specs.
  9. Relax guys - i think he was just trying to see if he could get away with re-using his existing tyres. It can certainly be done - whether or not it's wise for a regularly driven car is another story. This is a 245 on an 11 rear..... And agree - no good comes from spacers.
  10. this car is pretty much exactly what your setup will look like. http://www.rimtuck.com/setup/view/123 note 275 rears.
  11. 1. yes - those tyres will fit but be fairly stretched. I'd try go for a 2. yes - this is a pretty agressive fitment 3. up to you. for such an agressive setup though, I wouldnt even consider springs. You're going to need the fine tuning capabilities of coilovers to get your ride height/clearance the way you want it. Springs leave little margin for error - they'll either clear or they won't. 4. Roll gaurds, suspension, fit wheels - best plan. For info on how its going to look - go to www.rimtuck.com and find a setup that is closest to your specs. Also lists the tyres used so you can see how your 245s will look. If you can't find a setup with these exact specs - find one that is closest then use Mark Sink Offset Calculator to work out what the difference is between your setup and the pics. http://marksink.com/tire_wheel_offset/offset.html Otherwise - i got some rims for sale - and they definitely fit ;-) ......see my thread.
  12. even though based on your gearbox woes you may no longer be doing this drive, i found this new product on carcareproducts newsletter that would be perfect for what you need. simply wash car, spray on, remove with high pressure hose http://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/wolfs_chemicals/the_mask_spray_on_protection
  13. I know you say 'account' - but you didn't happen to pay via PayPal? If so you can lodge a dispute and freeze the funds - I've been burnt before, but PayPal saved me. Always use it now. Other than that - notify moderator - and then start doing some due diligence. Read his previous posts, type his name into google, his email, his username, facebook etc etc. I did this when I got ripped on a BOV - I was able to find the guys REAL name, where he lived, where he worked, his work email and mutliple other username accounts on other forums where he had ripped other people off. I put it all together in an email - sent it to his work - and lo and behold, got a response - and my BOV. Lot of stuffing around - but I beat the scam and learnt a lesson in the process.
  14. Hi guys. I am looking for EOI's on these wheels. I'm going for a different look and was going to paint these wheels but it seems almost criminal to do that given how seriously rare they are and no longer in production,so throwing it out there for interest. Price: Considering offers around the 3,500 mark. Won't respond to lowballers. Location: CBD Melbourne - can drop off for post at buyers expense Specs: LE37T Top Secret Edition 19x9.5 +22 (F) & 19x10.5 +22 (R ) Condition: excellent - only some hairline scratches in one of the hub centres. The 'Volk' stickers are a bit sketchy - could do with replacement ($40 from Nengun) - but importantly, the 'Top Secret' banner decals are still intact - can't buy these. Comes with Volk Carbon caps - two of the caps have some cracks in the lettering of the 'VR' - but only visible up close. Tyres are Pirelli P-Zero 245 fronts , and Hankook V1 275 rears. Cambered on the insides but plenty of meat in the middle. Will include blue Rays locking lug nut set. PM me if interested. Cheers Mat Looking for offers around the 3,500 mark.

  16. I'd be taking it to an auto electrician - and just driving them around until the problem replicates. I'd mention to them that you were in there cleaning things in the engine bay - as I'd say that's where your problem is (with trouble shooting always consider what the last thing you did to the car was before the symptoms displayed - it's usually the cause). You could have caught some water inside a connector, a terminal may have got wet and has now corroded over causing intermittent contact. Etc etc. If you're not confident having a go at it yourself, you're better off going to a pro - because electrical gremlins will drive you crazy. Especially inconsistent ones.
  17. welcome mate - i have just been where you are and i'm very happy with my purchase. i was looking for auto - which may or may not make a difference to the quality and availability of car- but after enquiring with some importers, i decided i was better off buying something landed. With the costs associated with importing these days, the wait, and the unknown factors of not being able to seen, hear, feel the car - i can't really see the benefits importing when there are plenty of cars landed, complied and tangible - for similar money if not less. But feel free to do your due diligence. This is a nice car with some nice mods: http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/nissan-skyline-2004-12745886?base=1216&vertical=Car&cr=33&page=3&eapi=2&__N=1246%201252%201247%201282%201216+4294678014&num=15&silo=Stock&Range=Price:Min,25000~1&items=[Make:NISSAN,Model:SKYLINE,Series:V35]&sort=Price
  18. i just thought cos you have an e46 in your avatar pic.....there i go making assumption again..... Enkei EKM3 are pretty close. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Enkei-18-EKM3-18x7-5-5x114-3-38-Gunmetal-/221146701644?hash=item337d5edf4c&item=221146701644&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr
  19. fair enough. reviews i've read on this HU say the 30 pin adapter does not help - Pioneer still trying to develop software update to correct.
  20. Sad to hear someone getting in over their head but cars are a black hole if you arent careful. Put the drive train something unique - grab a gts-4, or a manual stagea.
  21. Cheers Chris. When You say the maps won't work well what do you mean? There seems to be more than one map solution available - beyond the $80 pioneer app. I have read some hot n cold feedback, some due to the restrictiveness of the motion lockout requiring a double bypass (which I would get). Also saying the iPod cable is v bulky. And that it doesn't support iPhone5 - which is fine by me.
  22. Yeh the paddle shifters are fantastic. I need an auto car for the work commute - but the paddle shifters mean I can have some inolvement with the driving when I want. Shiftkit is on the 'to do' list for sure. It's an '03 with approx 60,000kms on it - and the price I won't say. but I having been watching the market for the past couple of months and I will say it was very much towards the high end of the scale. Most would say I paid too much but this car was in such good condition with a good history, good paperwork, and good mods - there were no compromises; so I was prepared to pay.
  23. Thanks Carbon. Only thing not clear from your explanation is the GPS comment - are you saying that a US version will not work here even if I downloaded the App from an Australian iTunes store with Oz maps?
