  1. What do you want? Another lesson? How about.....a lesson on the difference between facts and opinions? Facts are statements that are irrefutably correct and supported by empirical evidence. Example, the things that i wrote above which you said we're incorrect so I directed you to some sound sources of evidence to prove my statement - thus making them facts. Opinions are subjective statements belonging to the person expressing them, open to discussion or justification should the person choose to do so, but ultimately will have no right or wrong answer. I'm not going to waste my time proving how putting stagea panels on a skyline sedan looks shithouse, despite you having kindly supplied supporting evidence - ergo, a 'fact' - so i guess we will keep that in the 'opinion' category. That concludes today's lesson.
  2. Correct. so to put it more simply for you. Sedan: 2001 = released 2003 = update 2004 = update 2005 = update Now as I said before (and as you have quoted), the coupe was +1 year behind these updates - but obviously not released until 2003. So...... Coupe: 2003 = Coupe released (S1) 2004+1 (2005) = Coupe updates (S2) 2005+1 (2006) = Coupe update (S3) The specific differences of each model year are detailed in the link I posted here: http://www.jlimports.com.au/nissan-skyline-350gt-v35-coupe
  3. Coupe wasn't released until 2003 - retard. Back to bolting shit panels to average cars for you.
  4. Errr..that's like 460km/h.....
  5. Yeah i got a 17c one from woolworths the other night. Something is going on.....maybe the supermarket petrol retailers using the price per barrel hike as an opportunity to try squeeze a few more independents with these tasty discount vouchers.
  6. I just spoke to VicRoads regarding the sale of my own car interstate - there is no real failsafe to prevent this from happening unless you physically site proof from the new owner of transfer of ownership. She did say that registration numbers and ownership are stored in databases at a state level, but that VIN's and ownership are stored in a national database that the state authorities reference off. So when someone newly registered your SA car in VIC, the VIN should have have flagged when checked against the national database as being registered in your name in SA. Obviously this is what happened with the second owner - he didn't transfer the vehicle into his name once the car went interstate - it never flagged in the national database, you didn't pay your registration renewal, the vehicle become unregistered in SA - but still under your ownership at both a state and national level. I'd say the ball has been dropped between when the vehicle was paid out and sold at auction. Still, it should have flagged again when the third owner bought it, fixed it, especially as it would have had to go through a VIVS. Anyway - regardless - call VicRoads there is a number in the options menu you can select to check a vehicle's current registration status. Give them the VIN and see what comes of it.
  7. If you read it carefully you would have notice it mentions three model updates. S1 = 2003 S2 = 2004 S3 = 2005 The coupe was one year behind in these updates, so +1 to the years above, Alternatively: http://www.jlimports.com.au/nissan-skyline-350gt-v35-coupe Again, google is your friend of yours. Laziness is not a friend of mine.
  8. Heaps. Its got to the point where if you have to ask you can't afford it! :-p
  9. I seriously wonder how people found out answers to questions before the internet existed when now that we have the power of this awesome tool, people still can't be bothered...... http://lmgtfy.com/?q=v35+skyline+wikipedia
  10. agreed. not sure if the neon lights inside and out were S3 specific though......unless the owner ticked the 'xzibit pack' option box. Great combo on that car otherwise. Best colour, best year, with sunroof. Tick, Tick, Tick!
  11. I doubt vicroads is going to give you the name and address of a person based on a registration/VIN number - case in point, i get road raged, take down a license number and go to vic roads? go round to the guys house....? It's all hindsight stuff now, but when i sell a car I write out a pretty detailed receipt of sale - stating the time and date that the car is being handed over, that the buyer accepts legal responsibility for the vehicle from that time forward (to prevent things like fines etc), and that they have a set amount of time (usually 14 days) to transfer the vehicle into their name with the relevant authorities after which the registration will be cancelled by me. Get both parties to sign it with a license number that you've sighted. Keep a copy for yourself. It is also very wise to ask the buyer to show you the cover note they have arranged for their insurance - i can't imagine the sh1t fight that would go down if you cancelled your own insurance and the new owner had an accident before they had the car transferred into their name. I usually leave the car insured until i've got confirmation from the new owner they have succesfully transferred it into their name. But like you said - it was an oversight by you not cancelling your SA rego after you sent it to NSW. It's a timely reminder as I'm about to send a car up to ACT with Vic rego, so thanks.
  12. Could be a clean car. Price seems fairs. I wouldn't write it off just because the owner may have selected the wrong model when setting up the ad. And if he really doesn't know anything about cars, more power to a savvy negotiator. Play on!
  13. Cheers Pete, will keep it in mind.
  14. Got mine done by a panel shop - it was $300 for two lips - which seemed like a lot, but they absolutely nailed the colour match so I have no complaints.
  15. Qx1 is a tri color pearl - I can't see an eBay mob taking the time or effort to go through that process for a $29 lip.
  16. I think the rule is the gauges can't be in the impact zoned driver or passenger during a crash (ie. possible to hit your head, arms etc on - for example, on the pillar or dashboard.) A gauge that isn't in your field of vision is a pointless gauge! Plus, lots of new cars coming with HUD so that would seem an inconsistent law.
  17. If you haven't already purchased the speakers, I wouldnt worry about the rear set. Leave the factory units in there. Run them off the headunit, dial the balance to the front speakers. (eg, Front 8, Rear 2) Instead of spending your money on 4 speakers, spend twice as much on the front splits and run them off an amp. Your front stage is going to give you the bulk of your listening pleasure, you're better off focusing your money buying the best pair of splits your budget allows. The rear is only for fill, or backseat passengers - and if you've got a coupe, then chances are they won't be all that comfortable anyway!
  18. Cheers - I'm keeping an eye on YAJ etc, but if anyone knows of a set locally - a quick google has indicated a few sets have changed hands in Oz over the years.
  19. A long shot, but I'm after a set of Panasport c5c2's in GTR fitment in 18 inch diameter (not real keen on 17's) Condition of face's and outer lips is not hugely important as I plan on rebuilding them. Contact via PM if you have a set or know of someone who might be interested in parting with a set.
  20. I would just make sure you leave the windows cracked so humidity doesn't build up inside leading to rot. (Side note : read the article on what has happened to the Sultan of Bruneiis car collection in storage). I was going to suggest some of those extraction fans that mount on your window - but they are solar powered - wont exactly work inside a container. Perhaps one of those damp rid containers in there - It will soak up any moisture. And a car cover. Although I imagine they're pretty water tight, they won't be air tight and dust and crap will blow around in there eventually. Disconnect battery and take it with you. Firstly it's a good anti theft measure. Secondly you can put it on a trickle charger at home so it's ready to go when you next are. And you might also want to consider securing the container itself. They might not be able to get at your car easy - but it's a piece of piss to load a container onto a truck and transport it somewhere else - after all, that's what they're for ;-)
  21. Seriously - for the sake of getting a car from point a to point b I think you're over complicating things. Grab some planks of wood - support them on bricks where they transition to the container floor and drive that fker in. Throw planks in container - don't think about it until you have to get your car out. I have to go through this every time I want to get my car in and out of my driveway - sure its a pain - but it takes literally 5 mins.
  22. Nice work man - admire the handy work. But. As was said, your first attempt was probably the most practical - at least you can put some shopping bags in there etc. Second one you would risk damaging the subs if you put anything in the back.
  23. Deposit taken.
  24. That's what I use - cost about 10 bucks each - I got them to cut them in half. Solved my driveway issues:
