2003 V35 Skyline 350Gt - Vic - $32K
SMOKEYV35 replied to SMOKEYV35's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Also, against better judgment I might consider swaps for a clean GT-R. -
The price does vary hugely. At the low end of the scaled you'll have early model (2003+ high km auto's with no premium pack, cloth interior, no service history, a lower auction grade and freshly landed with sh1tty compliance tyres and no mods. Because the xchange rate has been so good over the past 12 months, these cars became cheaper and cheaper and now the market is flooded. When I was looking 12 months ago, 20k was a cheap one. At the other end of the scale you'll have Series 2 cars (2006+) with premium pack (sat nav, Bose, leather), clean auction sheet and service history/dereg papers. Maybe landed a couple of years so has Australian history and a private owner (not a shonky grey import yard). Manuals usually have a higher asking price (LSD and Brembo's in the S1). The value of mods should not be underestimated as it's very hard to get things off the shelf in Australia and very rarely come up second hand unless off a wreck. Things like a cat back exhaust will cost you over 2k for a half decent brand by the time you land one as an example. I'm sure you can get one in your budget - it will just depend on how fussy you are.

And to add to what Terry said - in NSW there is an actual EPA iPhone app. All you have to do is type in the rego of a smokey/noisey car and press 'send'. Nek minut, letter in mail. (As a side note, if you're a car enthusiast in NSW my suggestion would be to download that app, and report as many smokey rust buckets as you can - keep them busy with other things ;-))
-
Same in Vic. Guilty until proven innocent. I got a letter in the mail, didn't even get pulled over, had to go for full emissions and noise testing. Took two weeks to put the car back to stock - and another two to put it all back on muhahaha.

Thinking Of Forced Induction
SMOKEYV35 replied to V(35)Powarh!'s topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I never understand why people go down this route. Weak motor aside, they just don't make power for the money you have to spend. If you (not you specifically) want a Kw King you should just buy an RBDET(T) and be done with it. That was half the reason I bought a V35 - so I wouldn't be tempted to do expensive engine mods anymore and might have a chance of keeping my license a bit longer. There is something about knowing there is no point racing every thing on the road. I just accept its not a rocketship and enjoy the car for what it is - a comfy GT cruiser. -
Just assumed it would be an SAU car. It was even cleaner than Brandon's - and that's saying something. Wanted to know who owns it in case he ever wants to sell it. Brandon has lmgt4's -
-
Not Brandon's car - I did a hill run with him on Sat morning so I know his beast - plus, Brandon's car was parked right next to this one lol
-
Does anyone know who owns this car?

Guys, a very regretful decision to sell as I love this car in every way but I’ve hit a crossroad in life and decided I want to go work/live overseas or in another city – and unfortunately it makes no sense to keep two cars. This is my weekend car only and never driven in the rain, so at the moment it’s only getting driven once a month at most, so I need to be realistic about where I have my money tied up. I bought this car for 27k in Sept 2012 purely because it was so clean and satisfied my OCD. Previous owner imported the car in 2006. He was an older guy who was fastidious about the car. Only brand name parts were purchased and car was detailed every 12 months at Final Inspection. I have all import and compliance papers, including the de-registration papers from Japan to prove genuine km’s plus a stack of receipts for all mods. I bought the car thinking it would satisfy the mod bug in me, but I have since spent a further 10k on the car. Condition: Excellent. 68,000 genuine km’s. Not a chip or pin dent on the entire car. Accident free. Rust free. Opti-coated paint. Engine pulls like a train. Serviced every 5,000km with full synthetic oils. Standard Features: Leather & Suede black/grey interior. Factory Navigation tuner (converted to English) Folding mirrors Auto headlights Dual Climate control Electric seats Factory alarm Factory Privacy glass 5AT (auto) Transmission MODIFICATIONS Interior: Works Bell carbon paddle shifters ($500) Momo Leather shifter ($200) All interior piece professionally painted gloss black in 2-pac paint ($250) New ‘350GT’ embroided floor mats ($150) LEDs throughout Cruise Control (aftermarket - makes this thing a dream to drive on the freeway) Stereo: Pioneer AVH-8450BT 7” DIN HU ($700 purchased locally) Wiring harness for steering wheel controls Pioneer Reverse camera ($175) Alpine PDX-V9 5Ch amp ($500 purchased locally) Image Dynamics 10” sub ($400 imported from the US) Custom fibreglass sub box JL Audio RCAs ($100) 0 gauge wiring front to back Dynamat throughout Computer cooling fan to keep amp cool Currently running the Bose speakers but have Focal components to go in (negotiable) Suspension BC BR Coilovers (<500kms) ($1300) Whiteline sway bars Front & Rear SPC rear camber arms SPC rear toe bolts SPL camber arms front (not installed yet - $700) Brakes Brembo calipers F&R (not standard on autos, fitted in 2009. Step lips. Matte gunmetal centres. Not a scratch on them. ($3500, only a few months old) Nitto Invo 235/35/20 fronts, Pirelli P-Zero 285/35/20 rears ($$) (fronts are good, rears are brand new) Project Mu 7-sided lug nuts ($190) KYO Dency EI electronic security lock nuts ($200) Engine - Motordyne 5/16 Plenum spacer - Carbon Fibre Z tube - Berk Hi flow cats ($600) - Exotic speed stainless Y-Pipe ($450) - Apexi WS2 stainless exhaust ($1250) (this exhaust has a great exotic note, and no drone. ) Grounding kit Exterior 2007 Xenon project headlights (very rare. $800 if you can find them, will include original lights) Nismo front bar, genuine, poly carbonate (not fibreglass rep) $1200 unpainted Nismo front and rear pods Vertex Digna roof lip (Gloss black 2pac) and Vertex Digna boot lip (Ivory pearl colour matched) ($600) Gloss black embemless grill ($150) Gloss black vinyl roof (Oracle Vinyl, best you can buy – can be removed) ($200) Rolled gaurds PRICE: $32k Firm (No swaps, thanks) Comments: Car will come with all the spares I have, spare lights, stock wheels (good rubber), stock exhaust, strut brace etc. Plates are not included, will come with standard VIC plates. RWC will be arranged once purchase is finalised, but have no concerns about it passing. The price is at the upper end of the scale, I am aware, but I honestly don’t believe you could find a better condition V35 or one with this level of modification. As it's name suggests, this is a GT - a sporty cruiser. It is just a beautiful car to drive, so refined, and the interior is pure luxury. But make no mistake, 0-100 in sub 6 secs and can hold it with the best in twisties. There is nothing left to do on this car except maybe a TransGo shift kit, and at this price I am taking a heavy loss. Willing to sell minus wheels (subtract $3500). Car can be viewed in Malvern on weekends. PM questions. CREDIT to Ryan Hanif for the photos below.

De-Badging The Skyline Logo
SMOKEYV35 replied to MFC05's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Got mine off with a heat gun on very low to warm up the glue, then rubbing in small circles with a white cloth and some eucalyptus oil. (I stress white cloth as I used a green microfiber first and it actually transferred color into the paint - had to cut n polish it out with some pretty aggressive compound). -
Think the risk is low, but it's possible. There have been times when I have been driving and thought 'shit that puddle is deep' - but usually that's about .5 sec before I go through it - get me? Just get a z tube and a nice panel filter. Almost every thing I have read has said pod/cai make no diff or lose power - and the one reliable test I saw where it gained a couple of bhp up top was purely at the expense of the bottom end power - and how often do you spend driving above 5k rpm ? Next.

Not sure what beef was in the 'beef' meat tray but it has been punishing me a bit today :-x Good meet. Despite the cold. Cheers for organizing.

Can't argue with a company car! People will say 'don't sell, don't sell' - but I am learning pretty quickly that if you have two cars and keep one as a 'toy' it just doesn't get driven. In the 4 weeks since I've had my Pathfinder, I haven't driven the skyline once - it's either been too wet (and I don't want to take it out to get dirty) or I can't be shagged setting up the ramps needed to get it out of my garage. Pretty much become a 35k dust collector......under a car cover of course ;-)

What Have You Done To Your V-Series Today?
SMOKEYV35 replied to SMOKEYV35's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Not bad. Better than my CF Vinyl effort, which looked good for a couple of days then started to lift and shrink. I've gone piano black now -
Carbon Fiber Front Splitter
SMOKEYV35 replied to FlyingEL's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Nope. Home Depot lip is a rubber strip about 2 inches deep made from garage door seal, I've got some to play with but I'm not mad on the look from what I've seen. That is, like you said, a carbon fibre splitter. Type 'g35 carbon fibre splitter' and you'll find all the vendors on 35driver - Statik Performance does one and the owner, Henry, is on the 'v35 coupe drivers' group on Facebook. The hard part will be swallowing the freight cost! -
Terry beat me to it.....

Which is why you always arrange a cover note before you pickup a new car. But if you're not at fault, the other driver pays for your damages?? You don't need to involve your insurance company even if you did have one. Get three quotes, download a 'letter of demand' template and send it to the other parties insurer. Other option, if the vehicle was still under the previous owner you could see if they feel generous enough to put in a 'not at fault' claim under full comp and nominate you as the driver, but with excess and the fee assosciated with a driver not on the policy, provably would work out much the same.

got the same pads too - no squealing at all. Bedded them in as per the instructions, but was also very careful about reassembling making sure i used the shims and PBR anti-squeal paste between caliper and shim, and shim and pads, because i HATE that squealling noise. Makes a nice car a sh!t car to drive or be around!

R33 Gtr Re-Tuned But Now More Laggy
SMOKEYV35 replied to Smegingfecker's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Yeah I would say they took timing out of it so they could get more boost in and make a higher final reading (thus making you think they did an awesome job)! Depends what you asked for. If you asked them to tune for higher peak power, then they did that. If you asked them to tune for the fat power curve - they might have tuned differently.
