  1. Hi guys,

I recently bought another AFM from a wrecker, thinking that mine wasn't working. Turns out my injectors were stuffed so I wasted my money on it and I tried to return it to the wreckers but they would not accept it.

It's a stock Air Flow Meter off a R32 RB20DET, it's fully working and tests are welcome.

I can take photos if you really what, but everyone should know what it looks like.....

Price: $70 o.n.o. or will trade for parts here and there..

    Location: Fairfield / NSW

    Cheers,

    Johnny

  2. my guess is the problems is caused by blocking the BOV the AFM puts in fuel for air that isnt there. causing a backfire.

try using your plumb back again and see if that helps.

also look for any intake leaks after the afm,

an aftermarket ecu which removes the afm will solve this and much more.

that's actually wrong... the ECU only dumps in more fuel when your using an atmospheric BOV.... if you've blocked your BOV, all the air still remains in the system and the correct air/fuel mixture is obtained.

  3. Could be a bad instal or a bad quality catch can. My mate had trouble with his coz i think the hoses were too small or some sort of pressure was wrong. Not sure tho

how can a catch can be bad? it's only bad when it has holes in it and leaks crap everywhere.. even a sealed milo can could be a catch can.

  4. Hi all,

Before you ask, yes I've used the search, and I just got a load of crap, nothing even close to my problem.

Anyways, my car just reeks like petrol after I drive it hard, like constantly boosting it (touge, around old pac) then all I can smell is petrol.

I've been under the car and replaced all the fuel lines, new clamps you name it.. there's no leak to be noticed in sight.

There's no smell of petrol at all in the engine bay, fuel rails all nice and dry...

I'm so confused? I'm thinking it's the charcoal canister.. it's sending pressure to the fuel tank and blowing bubbles in there... because my fuel needle goes whacked when I drive it hard... from 1/2 a tank to nearly empty... then drive it normal for like 10 minutes its back up.

    Help? experts?

    Cheers,

    Johnny
