Could be the case of a stuffed BOV..
is yours the stock one? or some aftermarket vented BOV?
If its an aftermarket one, it could have ceased up and letting air come into the motor before the AFM gets to read it when your idling hence causing the car to stall
-
you say that you don't have a cat running in between the exhaust system..
I recommend you put it back in.. firstly you won't get a fine and it should give you better fuel economy
-
you should put it on fastfours or boostcruising forum... I think it would attract more interest... than on a skyline forum...
-
bushing maybe worn out? never know..
-
sounds like the car has been in an accident in the past. If your car is using the stock suspension there's no way it could be out..
unless your bushing is totalled and its causing your entire suspension assembly to be out of whack...
jack up the car and post up a few pics!

unplug the hoses to the factory solenoid DON'T UNPLUG THE WIRES TO IT...
and simply put your dual stage between it... easy!
I don't recommend you use the turbosmart Dual stage.. I had bad experiences with it... it spikes...
and that top hose in your diagram, thats goes to your intercooler piping man.. don't block it.. you need it...
-
thats great for that guy/girl with the ceffy... you do that to your car, run some mad boost and no BOV....
I wonder why they ever invented them? maybe to extend the turbo's life expectancy? top bloke
' date='28 Apr 2006, 01:23 AM' post='2122339']well thats a 4g63 not an rb engine. there is a drift ceffy in perth that doesnt run a bov and has over 300rwhp and it is driven hard with no problem....
-
yup will work if its off the plenum
-
when you installed your intercooler, did the pipe have a nipple that goes to the stock solenoid?
Maybe the after market piping didn't have it.. and your missing that hose.. hence the spiking
-
my bad relax...
I'm not use to seeing hp... ppl mainly use kw as an unit of measure.
-
It was a joke u tool, and if you boost the stock turbo with it blocked off say goodbye to it...
I got a mate who did a 4G63 conversion in his proton satria and decided to be sick cnt blocked off his BOV and boosted the car to like 10PSI, within a few months his turbo started to develop shaft play and stopped spooling properly...
' date='25 Apr 2006, 08:09 PM' post='2115592']nice uneducated reply there....
Some jap drifters dont run bov, as they belived it gives them better responds.....
and did the vl turbo come stock without a bov? i dont see a holden or anyone making a car which the turbo will blow up after u run it for a few months
-
I use to run a Turbo Smart Dual Stage..
Car had exactly the same problem, when you put your foot down the car would just splutter and jerked like crap... I think, yes think it was because of the boost spiking, and I was told by my friend to get it rid of it as he too had the same problem...
So yeah running stock boost now no dramas... ebayed the Turbosmart Dual Stage for $120... heheh
-
sounds like there's not enough fuel as well...
-
more boost?
-
LOL, yeah the wrong gear might just do that..
-
well if you want fully sick noises, stuff the BOV
just block it up, and hear the flutter and maybe in a few months your turbo will shit itself.. lol
-
your "friend" wants 300kW.. tell him get a T66 hhahahhh
-
just drive the auto like its a manual LOL
I use to do that on my first car (commodore) hahaah..
Pop it into L, rev it out, then 2, rev it out, then 3 rev it out, then OD
stuff auto, its tiptronic now LOL
-
errrr maybe your car needs to have a tune up?
-
its got to be done the "fully sik" way..
go to bunnings and get:
* some pvc pipe
* duct tape
then take off the stock box with a hack saw, then duct tape on the pvc pipe then duct tape the pvc pipe to the pod..
swear bro..
-
skyline -> park it in the garage
Always drive the g/f's echo, its manual.... LOL
gets around 650~700kms per tank, costs $40 to fill up...
-
I think this works with most cases....
take off the HKS SSQ, repackage it, and sell it to some WRX owner LOL
then...
go buy a Plump Back BOV of your liking or use the stock one..
too simple !

does anyone even read my replies ???? blah !!
Rough Idle (intercooler Leak)
in Forced Induction Performance
Posted
try blocking off the atmospheric bov with your hand, and see when idling if its leaking...
better yet whack your stock bov & plump back system and see how that goes...
