-
hmmm...jun product from ex-speed?? yea the jun gtrs aren't sumthing to laugh at too so they've probably got just as good a fuel pump...besides they build really good rb26s

have a look at their website...seems like we're the HQ for motul oils. think it's in beenleigh or sumthing. www.motul.com.au

i've got 300v 10w40 in my car if that's the one you're looking for. get my car done at chapman n chapman and they stock the higher range motul oils. looking at about $20 per litre.

jezz...i'm hoping it makes 350kw...but it is 350hp my mechanic said so i'm just quoting him.
-
my turbos spool at about 2000rpm, making about 0.5bar at 2000. it hits 0.8 bar just before 3000rpm and makes its peak of 1.1bar at about 4000rpm. i have no idea what's the cams set to cos my mechanic won't tell me. all i know is that the intake is advanced 5 degrees. that's all he tells me. no idea how much horses i'm putting out cos i've never tuned on a dyno. my mechanic does it all on the street and he says i'm in the 350hp range.

GTR - Upgrade opinions 350kw @wheels

back from where i come, the Evos and Wrxs are running GT-RS in the local rally. they are reportedly producing upwards of 400hp with the single turbo setup. not much has been done into researching this turbo in australia, i personally will not believe stuff until i have seen them, maybe u could ask rezz regarding this turbo's popularity in japan?? i'm not saying meshmesh should go out and buy a set of them...i neglected to read the first post properly...thus my suggestion of the GT-RS. -
ben...i may be wrong, but u should look at cam timing. after i put them on n my mechanic did his work on it, i found i practically lost turbo lags, but i am running stock turbos, which are supposed to spool earlier. also running power fc with avc-r, hks dumps and front and a custom straight pipe with just one muffler at the end.

34 Overheating in the Summer.... Any ideas??
rb26dett replied to N/A®'s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yea i think if u drill holes in the thermostat you'd reduce the pressure in the coolant system, which is bad. the higher the pressure u have in the system, the harder it would be for the coolant to boil, i.e. a higher pressure in the system = higher boiling point, which is the reason aftermarket radiator caps are rated at 1.3 bar instead of the stock 0.9 bar. i have consulted many reputable skyline mechanics in brisbane regarding changing to an electric fan, but for different reasons. i have been advised to keep the stock one as it is because it is the most effecient by far. i was also concerned about the temps when i hit the track, but the only temp that rises seems to be the oil temp. no worries in the coolant dept. -

ben...u'd find that with the GT2530s as well u'd need a decent set of cams to make good power. no good doing one without the other as all these things go hand in hand, not to mention injectors and better afms. mark...yea i've mentioned the trust dump/front pipe. i think that pipe's the best dump/front on the market at the moment, but i have no complains with my hks ones. -

hey ben...i think u'd need pretty aggressive cams to make the most of these turbos...n they're rated at 420ps each, so i think u should have a bigger number than 300kw with the right setup. -

hey a few suggestions to throw your way. 1. turbos...instead of the 2530s, try their GT-RS turbos. they're much better than the 2530s, from what hks says...less laggy more power. 2. oil cooler...i've got the trust 10 row one on my car...it keeps oil temps down pretty well, but when you're doing laps, i think you'd find that the oil temp is still going to rise. you should be better off with the 16 row cooler, although it's more work to fit it with remote oil filter n all. 3. bigger intercooler is always good...i always say go overkill on this cos you might wanna do a power upgrade sometime in the future, which means bigger turbos n bigger boost so instead of having to keep buying stuff do it in one hit. some might argue that too big an intercooler will give more lag n all, but when u wack on the big turbos, you'd need a bigger intercooler anyways. 4. dump pipes...if u're looking for the longest separate wastegate pipe running along the dump, you'd have to go trust. their pipes run alongside each other to the cat, which means the dump and front pipe would be a single pipe. another thing i have to note is that front pipes on the BCNR33 and BNR34 are of different design so i don't think it matters if you bought something good for the 33, you'd still have to get another for the 34. 5. cams...not too sure if the step 1 requires minor internal work, such as valve springs and retainers, but i think it'd be a good thing to get those done as well?? all manufacturers sell them as a complete kit which would be dearer than just the cams alone, but if u're going to do something, then do it right. lastly, if you're looking to do track work with ur car, i'd recommend getting a proper baffle sump and maybe an oil pump as well. the oil pump is not necessary as the stock one's fairly good, but i just wacked on the trust one to keep the oil pressure high n healthy. the oil sump is a problem, in some people's opinions, but others say that the GTRs come with a good enough baffle. but if the engine blows, it's gonna be a 10k bill, so i spent that few hundreds more n wacked on a trust one. comes with fins too to speed up cooling. -

the last time my friend did that he melted his headlight...hahaha. try soaking the whole thing in hot water to loosen the glue then slice with a pen knife...at least that's what i've been told the japs do -
i'm running a trust oil pump in my car and i'm very sure that it will handle whatever you throw at it. i'm not sure about what the n1 oil pump will do, but i upgraded to this oil pump because i wanted the oil pressure increased to handle track work. works a treat...4 bar of pressure as the normal oil pump at idle, 6 bar at cruising and it hits 8 bar at redline. might be more, but the factory oil pressure gauge only goes to 8 bar.

hey rezz i got something i need clarifying. someone told me that the 400r's engine was not done by nismo, but by reimax. is this true? i know that u can buy the rb-x engine from reimax via their website (www.reimax.com), but i need to know if the original 400r engine was built by nismo or reimax.

standard runs two bovs...u can change to just one big one like a trust type r

there are other factors which will induce understeering...like backing off the accelerator n braking during cornering

Which is the ultimate? Supra VS GT-R
rb26dett replied to 8thSIN's topic in General Automotive Discussion
i think the latest record set by the jun supra would be 412km/h, but i remembered looking at the jun site and if i remember correctly, their 33 had recorded a 430 sumthing... also...not 5th gear but 3rd gear...it's the weakest link in the GTR 33. cannot say which one's better...have flogged n been flogged by supras on highway....but standing start...just leave them for dead. worst loss recorded was to rx7 on the pacific highway...alleged to have at least 800bhp at the wheels...man was i flogged then...will never forget it when someone does burnouts during a roll-on...plus he spat some decent flames when changing gears n the yellow skyline in the fast n furious was a gtr. -
in the boot on the right side...there's a little cover...pop it n the reservoir's in there.

Powerfc + A-lsd in R33
rb26dett replied to Moanie's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
i had a problem with my hicas once and was told that the power fc would not be able to communicate with the hicas computer and thus, would not be able to troubleshoot what was wrong with the car...so i brought the stock ecu in and everything was diagnosed immediately...maybe u should try doing that -
about time they took the record at nurburgring back from porsche again... didn't like the front of the car on the initial prototype...think i 1st saw it in 2001...looked too weird...seems like they've gone with the EVO 8 looks....doesn't look too bad to me... n yea...with the GTRs performance in this year's JGTC seems like this is gonna be a good package

i noticed that the picture of the engine says 480hp and above (the last 4 words in the engine pic means hp and above)...so are we realistically expecting 480hp or maybe more??
