  1. 180's with a nice kit, the round lights... They can be made to look just as good enough better than a r33. Its all about personal prefence... If we had unlimited money, well we'd just sell both, and buy a gtr..... lets be honest.... the gtr is the KING of the nissans....
  2. well i like the skyline motor, and the lightness of the silvia. thus combine the two.....
  3. ok, guess i wont be getting used to the car...... wiring guy didn;t come to finish the job... have to wait till next weekend... bugga
  4. the way i see it.... Bigger fuel pump is needed when your stock fuel pump isn't pumping enough fuel to the injectors fast enough, which can lead to hesitation when giving it some stick.... So you get a bigger fuel pump which pumps more litres per hour so when your motor does need the fuel your injectors always have it. You can have a massive fuel pump system, your car is not going to run any richer because of it. Just means your injectors will have enough fuel if need be. How much fuel actually goes into the motor is all controlled by your ecu. not by the amount of fuel actually getting to your injectors..... could be wrong, but that seems logical to me, thus a saf-c is used to control your richness or leaness, as stock ecu cant do that when you do the mods such as exhaust, cooler, and then raise boost...
  5. i wouldn;t know... someone with a r33 would know... but if a s13 and a r33 are making near on the same power, i would say a s13 is gonna win, due to being lighter... but still i'd rather a r33 with light mods than a S13 with light mods.
  6. i could be there too .... but i got to get used to the car first i reckon.. plus dont wanna *** anything up just yet....
  7. make sure you use a spray gun , not a paint brush! (hehe). by the way you must be living it up hey.... own private drag strip, over here in melbourne, we have to share the drag strips mainly..... Princess Hwy, dandy frankston, hehe
  8. maybe its your driving.... (hehe) Your tyres, suspension, or a few other things.... I know most S13's have rock hard suspension, plus they have the 4:11 diff ratios which is always nice..... I dont think i'd worry too much about losing to silvias etc.... Different car. r33's are much more refined, and a better driving car all round. If your really worried about losing, stick a nice front mount intercooler on, and you will be winning easily....
  9. you can use the r32 gearbox as it bolts up. but it may not handle the power.
  10. i paid 1100 for my gearbox.
  11. yes yes yes. think they are in bayswater need a throttle cable off a r31. bleed the brakes, battery to the boot, and away we go!!!. ended up getting some heater hoses from autobarn. they had a hole heap of em. i just git some straight ones with a 90 degree bend on the end. seem to be doing the trick...
  12. hey, seling for a mate, his got a rb25det engine which comes complete, with air con, power steering pump, alternator, wiring lume, computer, turbo, manifold, plenu, etc etc..... Its a very clean engine which has done around 79,000 k's on the clock. I bought my gearbox off this engine, and its a very clean unit. if your interested in it, give us a pm, or something, and i'll organise a time to see it etc. Motor is completely stock. in melb cheers p.s around $2000 is what his chasing
  13. hey, bought this for mine, but doesn't bolt up at the pedal. To short. its in good condition, no leaks out the back at all. located in melb. let us know if your interested. cheers
  14. definatley go for a saf-c if thats all you want to do to your car. But in terms of bang for bucks.... I'd say spend the money on a front mount intercooler, to replace that side mount heater box. You have to spend an extra $300 to $400 over a saf-c but you will not regret it. And then later down the track you when saf-c's are becoming cheaper you could snatch that up for $300.... Only reason i say go a front mount, is because if you are considering a power fc, i take it you are willing to spend money, and a front mount intercooler is your next best investment, as far as power wise. can get some good quality second hand ones at a decent price. Gtr ones, or something a bit smaller if you must... best of luck,
  15. if you want it even louder ditch the rubber induction hose, and go for an alloy one. might attract unwated attention if you know what i mean.
  16. i got a r33 turbo clutch master that i bought but i rebuilt my silvia one, so dont need it..... let us know if you need that at any stage, can be a pain to come across if you dont get it with box, tailshaft etc.
  17. but what about the big radiator hose which goes straight across your motor. The r32 wouldn't have had that, as the outlets for the radaitor hose are all on the same side, i need to make up a new hose for the bottom on mine, dont know where to go. Also Your heater hoses, did you use the skylines ones also. i dont know what ones to get....
  18. 1 quick question. how have you done the radiator hose??? i am struggling to get my bottom one on. seems to be alloy. Is it hard to do. cheers.
  19. so how much lighter does the car feel when taking corners, and would you say you have lost off the line speed, or gained some. Compared to the rb20, would you say the sr20 is a quicker. will have to come see it....
  20. well the stock dump pipe does have that terrible design for when the wastegate opens the gases go directly into a wall, and have to divert. But i couldn't see how that would effect noise. If you really want a loud on boost type sound, replace your standard rubber induction hose with alloy piping. You will notice a difference in sound. Or maybe try changing air filters to a big K&N. Do you have a 3 inch exhaust?? could be a number of things
  21. The rb20det will not be able to handle 500 hp with the standard bottom end..... Might have to look into getting the bottom end rebuilt, and may have even require some head work. Its worth getting the motor done before you bolt on your turbo. 500 hp is a lot of power for the rb20 gearbox also, which might lead to replacing it with an r33 box. A few things to consider other than just turbos, injectors, and fuel pumps. Make sure you get a full cost from start to finish in worst case scenario so you know how much it will set you back. Nothing worse than starting something and realising you dont have that extra 500 bucks for the thing you never thought you would need. 500 hp is not cheap.
  22. well i got mine started up for the first time, and opening the throttle a little bit. You do hear a bit of a roar, but you can also clearly heard the turbo working. Haven't driven it on the street yet. However a mate with an rb25 has just a k&n airfilter and it really gives a healthy induction noise. i dont think its much to worry about. if the cars drives the way it should, a few sounds shouldn't bother you....
  23. hey, I am sick of going to the nissan dealerships, and paying out the ass prices, for simple things such as rubber hoses, clips, bolts, etc. All i needed was a simple door lock seal. probly worth a bout 2 cents, and the pricks go, nah i am sorry, you will have to buy the whole door lock, and that will be $98 UNCODED!!! haha, so i am not going there again.... What other spare parts places, are much cheaper, and actaully know what they are talking about. WHen the nissan dealership man, doesn't know if an rb25det is single cam or twin cam, you know theres something wrong. I know of repco, but they normally dont stock import parts. Must a place in eastern or south eastern suburbs which will sell some of the import stuff, like heater hoses, seals, gaskets, belts,..... etc. I am more after heater hoses at the moment. cheers
  24. did someone say conversions??? that makes my spine shivverrrrrrr
  25. good work meggala. a drift session must be on the cards i assume. if so invite me.... i know you and Dr drift have some underground stuff going on.... hehe
