  1. Sucks mate, sorry to hear. Let me guess, another skyline with no immobiliser, alarm or insurance?
  2. How did you notice less people trying to race you if you didnt own the car before the incident? You're right though, the majority of us are responsible. Its the usual deal that a few wankers make the name for the rest of us.
  3. Here here..
  4. Hahaha... Of course I knew.. I was reminding Al
  5. Wink used to own an R33 GTS-T didnt he?
  6. I'm in exactly the same situation - same turbo etc etc.. I havent run a BOV forever and i've got almost zero shaft play too. I'm in the same boat. I dont care what anyone says, my car has got less response and more lag with the recirc stock BOV (compared to running NO BOV). I've tested extensively, and there is a very noticeable difference. I was worried though about the life of my turbo obviously, and so I decided to check the amount of shaft play after nearly 25,000km of running with no BOV. Almost none. The theory that you guys have been talking about is utterly logical, and I dont think that there is any disputing that a recirculating BOV SHOULD mean less damage for your turbo, and better response. I think that the reality may be either different to what the theory suggests, or in fact that the effect of running no BOV arent quite as severe as suggested. I'm basing this on the fact that I have tested it, and this is the experience that I've had.
  7. I was thinking the same thing. Is it simply that vehicles built after that date CANT be complied full stop, or is it that you can't pass the emissions requirement? If it's an emissions test you have to pass, maybe you could get 3 cat converters welded in series into your exhaust or something outrageous to get under the emissions requirement?
  8. I spotted a new CL63 AMG Merc the other day - I'm a big fan of the aggressive front on it! It looked fantastic on the road!
  9. Spotted a white R33 which has taken a massive hit to the front right corner. Probably a write off. Parked in Aiken Rd, West Pennant Hills - ouch!
  10. No offence, but that sounds incredibly dodgey. I wouldnt touch it with a 30 foot pole. Why was the compliance plate removed? Have you run the VIN through a REVS check?
  11. Just buy a shitbox to drive around till you get off your P's... Or just buy a non-turbo skyline, and then buy a turbo skyline when you get off your P's? Turbo skylines will be even cheaper when you get off your P's because R33 GTS-T's are dropping in value all the time. Im confused by your reason for buying a turbo
  12. Haha... They have to be my most un-favourite plates (3Q DOES NOT EQUAL FREAK!) BTW i had to head down to rockdale today Anna so I just dropped in to see our mates at St George tyres who rolled the guards for $35ea
  13. Thanks very much, I'll give him a call! Cheers guys.
  14. They're 235/40R18 (18x9.5") Fronts 265/35R18 (18x10.5") Rears Only the rears are scrubbing.. the fronts are fine. It depends on the tyres tho. Falken FK451's didnt scrub. My new Maxxis MA-Z1's are scrubbing, so it depends on the shoulder of the tyre. Thanks Anna! Anyone else know of anything local?
  15. Can anyone recommend a place to get guards rolled in the north west? Or better yet, does someone in the north west have some rollers I could use in return for a case of beer or something? Fitted some new tyres today which have got fatter shoulders and I'm getting some major scrubbage.
  16. PAID today as well...
  17. No probs!
  18. IN and PAID mofo's! Edit - Steve, I'm thinking about possibly sharing my car with my brother. Is this possible? Ooo, also - is this a CAMS day? Are there any license requirements at all?
  19. I've never spoken to the police directly about a cruise, but from I've heard from previous SAU cruises the police have welcomed the fact that you're letting them know what is happening. I've never heard of a situation where the Police have taken advantage of the fact that you have let them know you're coming (ie. setting up speed traps and defect stations). I think the best plan of attack is stressing to the police that you are a responsible club, and if there are any hoon activities you will report the license plates of these vehicles yourselves! Make sure you tell the participants of the cruise the same thing if you genuinely dont want any shenanigans! The police wont give you a green light to go nuts, but at the same time they will appreciate the notice, and should show you the respect in return by not targeting you.
  20. Make it a big mac meal, and buy me an R34 with an SK setup and you've got a deal!
  21. Its not a skyline but the plates are definitely worthy of a mention. Spotted in Springwood (Brisbane) - Plates: HAHA V8 (QLD Plates) on a tough sounding Supra TT
  22. Spotted a Mercedes CLS63 AMG parked in brisbane tonight. For a $255,000 car, it looks positively pedestrian. Sure you get 378kw, and 0-100 in 4.5 sec, but it comes with undersized and average looking 18inch wheels! I'd rather spend that kind of money on a V8 Vantage if I was after a luxury GT!
  23. Spotted RB-1337 in the city on Saturday night too..
  24. Dammit.. I knew this date sounded familiar. Dads birthday so I might not be able to go to this after all. Did you end up paying chris?
  25. The autosports events site shows all 50 entrants booked. This event isnt already fully booked Corinne?
