  1. well the noise is not borthering me. I also think it's because rigidity of the shifter. also probably because I did not mamanage to put the rubber noise damping thingy fully through the shaft, some of the noise from the gearbox manage to "sip" into the cabin. sounds quite cool actually cheers
  2. huumm bougenvilla mate you located in Singapore? looks and feels like it
  3. trying to replace front & dump pipe as well.. I need to get to the front..
  4. hey, I'm trying to replace by exahaust system.... I have problems locating alternate jacking points.. the vehicle is R34, the jack has this indentation. the jacking point is actually a T looking thing...where the indentation slot into the stem of the T. I need to get under the car for quite a reasonable long time...so I dun feel safe depending only on the jack..I've got those fixed support thigy which has groove and will sit nicely behind the T thingy...the problem is....if the fixed support suppose to be seated at the jackign point, I need to jack the car from some other points....tried a couple of different spots and the steel sheet dented....kinda expected if you ask me, that's like 400kg on a sheet of metal so I've been trying to locate jacking point randomly..its got the same result..whenever I jack the car up, the sheet dented in...anyone know a good spot? + I need help with compressor...those bolts conencting the exhaust are real tough can't open them with spanner...so I went shopping and found this mini compressor for abt $200, the size probably 30 x 20mm...the larger model are about the same price as well..which one you recomend?
  5. the wing works quite well and completelt does not block view~~
  6. thanks sorry I think it was in general chat before, I did scrolled through search for 2 hours....didn't think i'd be in DIY cheers
  7. hi, I think within the last 2 month there is this guy who isntalled a BATMBL split dump pipe on his R34. I went to browse it but didn't actually ready it. Now I need the tread to try figure out installing myself. I lost the tread, tried searching. Ayone has a link to this?
  8. what is the material used for the manifold? any coating?
  9. ohh..okies ~~ i'll update as well
  10. okies~~ I'm well educated now~~ cheers
  11. ahh you are basing this comment on? which part of my response is bull ~~ this is my sourse: The D-Jetro Power FC units carry the same functions as the regular Power FC units but do not require the use of the factory standard air flow meter and use a mass air pressure sensor. Apart from the unit itself, use of the D-Jetro units requires additional parts that vary depending on the model." - www.greenline.jp The airflow meter (at least in the skyline range) does not pose a big restriction in terms of horsepower and one would doubt the use of the D-Jetro. If you really need massive airflow you can always change to 2 x Q45 Airflow meters and use those with the PowerFC. The skyline series are optimized for closed loop operation with an airflow meter and oxygen sensor for feedback and measuring. Cars the run on a MAP sensor system can suffer drawbacks such as bad idling, poor fuel economy, problems with cold starts etc from Paul's manual the costing come from: http://www.nengun.com/catalogue/brand/1 remeber that you have to add MAP sensor cost to D-jetro and the "heard term" is literally from a tuner in W.A, you can pm me for his number if you are not satisfied so...now which bit again?
  12. yeah heard about it..was it jump down tho? pressure from exam?
  13. postman's doorbell wake me up this morning, delivered my short shift kit from nengun.... couldn't resist and so install them immediately took me 1.5 hours, spending most of the time removing a stupid c looking spring clip, which goes into an indentation, very hard to remove. I also broke the rubber sleeve which clips to the bottom of the original shifter. Wonder if I'll ever need that again... anyways finished installation and went for a drive, it feels weird, still not used to it. It is weird but good, goes into gear much quicker it feels somehwere around half the original distance shorter. But when the car idles, the shift seem to vibrate real hard and somethimes when going into gear there is this weird whrilling sound. I've read other peoples thread having the same thing... but it's a thumbs up, worth getting for $300+
  14. I've heard that D-jetro pfc is a very crude ECU. lumopy idle, bad fuel consumption. It is used only in high hp applications as afm cannot read tha high air flow even the Q45 ones....It is not recomended for hp which is manageable bt afm.. anywas out of curiosity does D-jetro veersion comes in witht he MAP sensor or have to buy seperately. I think D-jetro is the cheapest out of all the pfcs
  15. Thanks for replies, yeah I hate it when they do that...they passed you but don't issue a permit..huum if that is the case I might as well get the Jap version? why do they even produce OZ version then?

  18. huumm 1-the first one, well they could strengthten the mount of the suspension, I meant if the car is for track work..so won't be potholes 2-okay second one is well justified... 3-its not about sound quality, more to the handling bit, the subs are light but the solid wood box has considerable weight + the level arm from car cetre to rear end of car is larger than level arm to engine. The weight at the back will help with traction, no? 4-why issit they can use missfire system if its meant to be road legal then
  19. he must have loved milkshake a lot =P

pass me a Nissan and GT S after you are done~~
  21. hi been wondering few things, straighten me out!! 1- if race cars want their suspension so stiff, so they can control car better, why don't they have a steel rod instead of springs~~ 100% rigid... 2-the idea behind fuel injectors is that the fuel is sprayed into mist form such that combustion is efficient, no? if that is the case let's say we have a 4 cylinder 1.6l engine, means each cylinder 0.4l....instead of doing that why don't we create sumthing along the line of 10 cylinder 0.16l each ~~...so smaller injectors and more efficient...just make the system high reving~~ 3-S2000 is famous for it's weight balance 50:50, handling is good. So isn't stereo sytem in the boot good? balance out the weight~~ like those sky scraper with dynamic counterweights to prevent swinging....so all we have left is to increase more power to overcome the extra 50kg or so~~ but heys, better handling 4-the better the flow of exhaust in turbocharged system the better right? so why do the WRC cars bother to put in exhaust at all...they might as well have a heat shield under the engine bay and remove the pipe all together? free flow exhaust~~
  22. that evo is taking corner real hard...suspension compressed, your driving age?
  23. ahh may I know the figure? I'm looking for injectors as well but not sure what cc to use..so doing research cheers
  24. yeah in W.A the cops are not equiped with mics...no EPA as well
