umm I'm still new with car stuff...can sumone explain what's gear ratio for? as simple as possible... also why do ppl want to get HICAS lock bar? aren't those the stuff which locks up the diff? so when taking corners locks up and both inner and outer wheels turn at the same speed...wouldn't that cause bunny hop? the bosch fuel pump 040 and 044 the differnce must be the capacity to pump but anyone know what are they, I'm looking to get an aftermarket fuel pump but dunno how to choose, what to look out for?

huum R34 autos and tiptronic are together issit? I always thought there are three options Manual, the very boring step on accelerator automatic and the tiptronic.... yah I heard that ECUs are manufactured for manual vehicles only also apparently automatic suppose to have slow response time...but I wonder if that is going to make much of a difference for normal on road use...

Manual definitely....wonder..how to drift with auto? can't exactly downshift and heel toe...can't use engine break as well....

there is a speed limiter, basically cuts the fuel supply once reaches 184km/hr exact...I've got RSM always stop at 184km/hr apparently rsm's suppose to manipulate the ECU such that the speed limiter can be removed. However mine,done by X-speed..they don't know how to do it apparently when I asked... maybe I'm jsut one of their small customer they can't be bothered with...I dunno.. The R34 GTR has 1-2-3000 rpm close together and enlarge RPM for the remaining.... If chuck that dash into a GTT, will the RPM work properly? I mean let's say rev at 3000, will it be actually showing 3000rpm or 4000; where the position or 3000 should be?.... yah confusing...I cannot find any way to explain it better...

I read in some mags that pod filters are useless....well they are there for the looks and the sound sound like the car is alive, breathing...I like that effect....I replaced my factory filter with HKS green mushroom and ...no difference in perfomance...... while more air is sucked in by the pod filter...those air are warm, unshielded from the engine bay... warm air has lesser density, lesser Oxygen for combustion...in effect mushroom = factory... I discussed adding heat shield around the filter with the mechanics...there are some carbon fibre ones available...but if you think abt it, the air is still from the engine bay only less hot and heat shield would restrict the air flow....end up with warm air and lesser volume sucked into the filter, even worse effect.... standard is the best I guess...I switch only because I want my car alive!! lol

yeah from what I heard, cost abt $2000 to install aftermarket sunroofs and they are not electric....those plastic manual thingy..I wuldn't install them..

I went tru pit twice with HKS BOV and Turbo time...and passed...of course I disconnect the BOV so when the pit guys drive does muted sound...I think Turbo timers are Legal in W.A. ....the pit guys did not give any comment on it...

yeah Car prices gone down bad lately...friend's cousin was trying to get morgage for house..he was driving black R34....can't sell for months..and in desperate attempt, manage to get $27,000 ...GTT.....also recently I saw an Add in paper selling R34 for $25,000 that's just nuts....I got mine for $39,000 and that was a year ago....loosing $14,000 just like that....depressing....yeah I agree with the fuel pricing... modifications has never increase teh value of the car..that is why it is good to actually buy second hand fully moded car, provided not well trashed...hehehe I think Ima rip off all the modifications and sell tehms eperately on E-bay when I'm selling mine~~

I have those flip down TV screen and they are suppose to function as GPRS, TV and DVD player..... Some shops I've visited, 'Alberts' claim that they can fix the DVD function (JApan Zone to Australian) for $300 including fitting...basically remove the CD stacker at the back and put in an Austalian version..... so far none of the shops I asked 5 of them including those promoter in auto salon, can fix the GPRS system...the TV function can be converted using some complex mumbo jumbo which cost abt $2000 (I was thinking forget it!!)....if your TV can be converted from NTEC or PAL or sumthing like that, not really paying attention, he says can be done cheaper....but still costly...mite as well get a new TV if I have to spend $2000 to fix.....so I didn't do anything abt the monitor yet... I think those conversion thing is bull, unless the Japanese sell DVD for Australian GPRS...which I dun think they have...
