bump.... dear, dear...okies loosing more money time -Pfc, 6 months old, bought from group buy 2 by Greeddy $800 (sold to me for $960) tuned for: 2.5" exhaust, pod filter and FMIC suited only for GTT -Q45 afm, very good condition - mesh still intact, $250(bought of forum for $350) - Brand new Rev Speed BoV "blitz Style", bought off my friend $100 (sold to me for $200) - Brad new Rev Speed Fuel Regulator, bought off same dude $150(sold to me for $250) -

hi, I have this problem a while ago approx 2 months from last tuning, high knock reading up to 91 if I remember correctly initially only when I'm accelerating in 5th gear...then the knock shift down to 4th gear, 3rd gear and eventually the car does not start at all. I towed the car to the garage and apparently the problem is the power fc got "magically" re-tuned such that the mappings are rich....so the spark plugs got sooted that it could not start... that was abt 2 months ago now the same problem again...still drivable, I was doing reasonably high speed 5th gear when the engine light went on and the knock reading went as high as 150.....just abt 3 days ago.....then now during normal acceleration at 3rd gear, the knock figure is about 50.....the same thing happening all over again as in previous case... The only reasonable explanation I can think is because before these two events, the battery of the car went flat because of the sound system.......the question is: does power fc gets re-set when the battry is flat... or is the unit I have defect.. thanks...sry for long story

hi, I've spoken with my dad's friend who managed to get his hands on large amount of RHK pod filter, he is charging me $50 for the filter....well he is trying to get rid of the filters and requested my help.. He is willing to drop the price further to $35 each if I can get 10 ppl to buy the filter and to $30 each if 20 people is willing to buy....I'm still in the middle of negotiation...as he seems to be eager to rid of the filters himself, I may be able to get a better deal...if you feel it is too expensive I will try negotiate a better deal, however I cannot promise anything here are photos I got from him ...I don't know the dimensions to it though..give me some time to get info off him...thanks if anyone is interested, can you please leave your details... 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10.

hi, can sumone explain what is usually involved when changing internals? besides the forged piston, head gasket and all other necesary gaskets... why is it necessary to change oil pump. water pump? usually the process involved machining the head, this means more cc to the car? also what does it mean to get the engine block blue printed? requires as much info abt re-building..is it legal? can I get a permit for it...it's internal I suppose no one will know...but will be nice if I can get a permit.. thanks

depends on how heavy modifications you have... This is from my experience others may encounter different things, the guidelines to what can be permitted what cannot be permitted is quite vague, also depends on connections. I’ve heard ppl not allowed to have Tein suspension, however when a certain mechanics (connection) brought the same car to the pit, he managed to get the permit. three methods of obtaining permit -you get a yellow sticker, went to pits and pits will remove the sticker provided your mods are allowable. They will then ask you to pay something like $35 for a permit - you can go get the permit straight at the pit without getting the yellow sticker at your own risk, because if your tyres are bald or your horn are not working etc, etc...you may get a yellow sticker for trying to get the permit, the pits more often are more lenient in this case, they will only give warnings but not actually issue yellow sticker, I think they trying to encourage ppl to obtain a permit -last one, a more tedious and usually done for more extreme modification. Write down a wish list, of the modifications you wanted to perform. The form for this is available in licensing centre just asks for it. The road authorities will decide if your modification is safe or not. If it is, you have to go to a road authority recognized mechanics for your modifications to be tested. I’m not really sure what happened after I haven’t got a permit this way before….but I think it’s relatively expensive…. The carbon fiber bonnet is legal for cars produced prior to 1993. The Carbon fiber bonnet ban was introduced after 1993. Therefore later models of R33 and R34s are not allowed to have carbon fiber bonnets. Same with BOV, the pits have stopped giving out permits for BOV when they realized that the loudness of some BOV can be adjusted + BOV volume is dependent on pressure as well, higher boost you have, louder BOV is… Alloy wing have to stay within the body of the car itself, no part of the wing may protrude the car body. The radials of the spoiler cannot be sharp. Also make sure the permit describe specifically the type of spoiler you have on. I’ve got a full carbon fiber spoiler including the radial portion however the permit states carbon fiber spoiler (black plastic radial). Cops pulled me over and they suspected I changed the spoiler. Parts which came standard with the car are generally allowed, therefore keep as much as possible the Japanese writings on your engine bay as they make the parts look authentic. Tinting is allowed up to a certain grade, your tint shop will tell you what is legal and what is not. The body kit in general are legal, however there is a minimum allowable height all around the body kit (body kit copies tends to differ in depth). The cop car when they pull you over the one with bright orange checkers will have with them a measuring tape to measure the height of body kit leaving the ground. Front mount intercooler are legal as long as they do not have the NOS kit or water spray sytem. These are all I can confirm The others I am not sure. I have heard ppl saying that exhaust are not allowed to be modified due to emission problem, unless you can prove that the exhaust is still within the limits I haven’t heard anything about vertical doors, it cost $900 to get a duplicate not much ppl are keen… getting a permit does not stop you from being sent to the pit. they will just find somethingto blame....I have a yellow sticker on atm, the cops saying my suspensions are too stiff. It's a factory suspension......and the pit don't issue permit for stock standard parts....so there you go a loop hole... in to the pit $35 poorer, pits refuse to issue permit but your car is legal..back on street caught again $35 back to pit again...and the cycles continue once a year every winter around the auto salon season~~
