hi, I went servicing my car last week and the mechanics found that there are rusted stuff collected in the radiator.... the metal sleeve at the engine inlet from the radiator is rusted and cannot be replaced (Nissan don't sell the parts)...Rusted conenctions circled in attached picture. The mechanics said that he flushed the system off rust already... I am advised by friends that this problem is quite severe, he said that any part of the engine with the coolant running trhough may be rusted.. this include the engine itself... how true is this? the radiators are already replaced and a custom sleeve is waiting to be made and tested...are there no other solutions to this than to go for engine change? Since I receive the car I have been chaning my coolants regularly, unfortunately previous Japanese owner did not take care of the car well

you joined the forum only a month ago and posted only a few threads most of them in relation to this coilover.... huumm~~ -
A while ago I went to a tuning shop to fit a pfc and boost controller. The garage couldn't get the boost controller to hold boost and so determine that the boost controller is faulty. I was told that the car was "half tuned" while waiting for a new boost controller to be sent back to me (warranty). About two months later I received news that the boost controller is fine. The following happened since after “half tuning”. Before I knew the boost controller is fine. I noticed high knocking while accelerating in 5th gear and attribute that to tuning problem, however since I have no budget to re-tune, I avoid accelerating at 5th gear for the time being. I checked the engine bay and hear a mild hissing sound under the pod filter. My turbo is low mount (stock GTT turbo) Since the hissing is mild at that time I thought it came from the radiator fan. Not long after the knocking problem starts again, but this time it’s down to 4th gear, reading as high as 91.At the same time, the engine would shut down on itself without stalling. Just off like that battery light went on and engine light, just like when starting a car. Ignition works fine and the battery gauge still showing 14.4v as car turns on. It happened rarely and so I didn’t think abt it much. However recently everything went worse, as soon as I slowed down and downshift (2nd to 1st gear abt 20km.hr) or put the car in neutral while slowing down, the engine would rev itself mildly to about 1200rpm. Otherwise the engine just shuts down like the situation above. The shutting down situation only happens when car is travelling at low speed, so thank god nothing bad happened to me yet. At the same time, the HICAS light went on at low speed turning and when that happens, the steering becomes really heavy, the car was trying to “fix” my cornering by inducing understeer. Mind that this happens at about 25km/hr and a wide radius turn too. So I realised something is not right and try to determine the problem. I listen to the engine and the mild hissing became louder this time. Also I noticed greyish smoke came out of the exhaust when I start the engine. No smoke when cruising. And at times after I stop and accelerated, the car would stutter, as though abt to stall but didn’t stall. My first thought is that there is a small leak in the intake or intercooler somewhere which causes the engine to burn rich. The soot builds up at the spark plug causing bad ignition timing. The leak has gone bigger now and the stalling get more frequent as the air escapes more; the engine tries to protect itself by mildly revving for more air as I slowed down. However I don’t understand the HICAS trying to fix my cornering at very low speed. Are there any other reasons to this? I am in the middle of exam right now, haven’t got the time to fix the car yet but I hope to find the cause. sry for long essay

I got a slight variation to that...but simmilar 1hp = 0.746kw

what 6 wheel thingy?

Castaway was good..I like Tom Hanks, good in da vinci code as well.....good actor. However the girl taking the role of Sophie can't act...she's hot but can't act.... teabing reminds me of Magneto at the begining of the show, they tried to stick as much as possible to the book. However I feel that midway through the movie they realised that they ran out of time....the story book meant to have five parties involved...Opus Dei, Vatican, Robert Langdon, Sir teabing and priory of Sion... however the movie over simplify the enemies merging Opus Dei and Vatican...taking them as 'shadows of the vatican' furthermore, in the story book, the character robert langdon was developed in prequel Angels and Demons..the movies does not explain much of Langdon's origin...why sonier would have chosen him out of so many ppl.... prolly 2 out of 5 star? felt as though I would fall asleep in the movies...wondering how long the movies has got to go on....esp after teabing died

SKY 34 replied to JimX's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
humm interesting I got my soundstream for $350..it used to retail for $790... soundstream is actually very big they are not commonly used because they are very expensive....the human reign amplifiers actually cost $6000 each....the huge ass chrome Tarantula 4 channel amp cost $1200 there used to be a top of the range da vinci 7 channel gold plated amp which cost $10 000.... they went bankrupt for some time I heard...some time ago and come back up...but I don't recomend soundstream components, the tweeters are very rough....looks good tho.. http://www.soundstream.com/ -

dun think you can use the same ECU...if it's RB25 DET, the ECU reads turbo pressure control the actuator......wihtout the capacity to read boost the actuator will realease pressure mechanically, can't remember the pressure but it's low...however since RD25 DE to begin with, you can't put much pressure in anyways... should join R31 skylines forum http://wiki.r31skylineclub.com/index.php?title=Welcome ask there for more details...why don't get RB 25 DET to begin with?
-
yeah 5 studs and port easiest method to find out~~
-
yeah Nissan's really epensive.. but Isn't o2 sensor at xhaust to tell the ECU if there's sufficient air in combustion?

I wanted to fit aftermarket steering but found that there is a $10 000 fine for removing steerings with airbag...wonder if the mom steering in rex or Z tune steering (since they come with airbag)can be ordered from dealers and be fitted in my car...Z tune is a bit try hard tho, I prefer to get the momo ones if possible...anyone done this before? my car is a GTT

60km/h I'm already in my 5th...

250rwkw~~ umm recomend itercooler ECU boost controler GT28? balance your power need vs turbo lag wastegate exhaust manifold front pipe BMTL (I think) sells one here exhaust Blitz type R is nice...3" high flow cat, Magic 4"? Pod filter Apexi, don't go for HKS mushroom CAI box Q45TB Z32afm (don't remove the afm not required for this power range) plenum? if you want to be fancy plumb back bypass valve fuel pump fuel rail injectors..not sure how many CC youll need abt 500?? more importantly paint your car red and stick more decals!!

Reverse EL suppose to have thicker face..so when you install them it'll jam the needle from moving...esp in R34..if you see the gap between the needle and the cluster is quite small... I think there's a way to change the standard bulb into blue or red colour instead..I forgot the brand name it was linked from one of the group buys for clusters here...

hi, wondering what those terms means..I have a vague idea..but not so sure... -compression ratio..it's always like 9:1 or 8.5:1 what does each side of the value represent? and ppl tend to bore the head of the cylinder a bit to turbocharge an N/A cars...in effect lowering the compression ratio, for the turbo to kick in, how does that work? why boring the head reduce com ratio? what happened to the head gasket then? -injector timing, on the pfc is always measured in degrees, how does that work? -injector duty injector duty is shown in %...and usually at idle the % is low abt 1.4%? so let's say I have a 440cc injector....does it mean the injector is only putting in 1.4% of the 440CC? load point... which I have no idea... thanks~~
-
I wouldn't remove afm...MAP is suppose to have bad idle, poor fuel economy etc..meant to be used for larger powered car...

there you go buy ruffle's 33 isntead..agree with the rest of peeps, he sounded dodgy... HICAS lock bars range from $150 I think....it's all up to you if you want them in or out...
-
I got one of those bottles which threat 30-60l of petrol and clean the injector at the same time...lol...umm I'm quite sure it is sumthing to do with the pfc....before I install the unit the car is good.... actually now that you mentioned it...fuel pumps might also be possible, my car often just died halfway driving...jsut switch off like that without stalling....sine it does not happened to ferquently I linked that to improper pfc tune... I'll go check out the pump as well... thanks~~
-
lol...no idea...because it says on the bottle that the bottle will reduce knock... >< oks.. I'll go for a re-tune...

Can Bov Install To R34 Non Turbo?
SKY 34 replied to SUGO's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
oii oii, I'm getting trashing of my life, gone doing assignment.. Yes of course I meant Atmospheric Blow off Valve (BOV). The plumb back makes next to no noise at all and in this context, "sound" is the key. Atmospheric BOV does increase fuel consumption just do a search within this forum itself. They also causes the car to stall if set incorrectly. If GTT factory claimed flywheel hp is 206. Then my car must be smoking weed to be able to achieve 200hp at the wheels, stock. While at it, what is the factory rated power for GTR? 206 as well isn't it? This is because of a gentlemen’s agreement between Jap cars manufacturer (Wikipedia, 2006) Also 206 figure at the flywheel is not in the unit of Hp...It is actually 206KW at the flywheel or 280hp. “A (now-defunct) agreement between the major Japanese auto manufacturers to limit the maximum advertised engine power of their cars to 280 PS (206 kW or 276 hp).” Wikipedia,2006 Quoting myself “also apparently stock GTT suppose to have abt 206hp” “Apparently” means it seems that or seemingly (Cambridge, 2006). I’ll explain further: “meaning I am not sure” A comparison between my Dyno result and rumours that have been going around (206hp at the wheel, not flywheel!!) cannot be established as a definite implication If everyone choses to be so specific a plumb back valve is not a blow off valve...it's termed a bypass valve (Hide, 2006) “Blow-off valve (BOV) / Dump Valve / Vent valve This valve type features an adjustable spring design (spring in compression) to keep the valve closed under idle, cruise and boost conditions (eg 0.5 bar). Only at sudden throttle lift-off (eg 0.8 bar) does the valve momentarily open to vent / dump the pressurised air directly to atmosphere through a specially designed orifice (and wooshtssh). Compressor bypass valve (CBV) In the CBV case, pressurised air is returned to the turbo compressor inlet for reuse, instead of being dumped to atmosphere. The bypass valve is open under normal low-load engine running conditions, and closes firmly when positive (boost) pressure is present in the inlet manifold (or plenum chamber). When on-boost and changing gear (throttle lift-off), a sudden lower pressure condition is created in the manifold and the valve is pulled open again, directing pressurised air back to the turbo inlet.” (Hide,2006) Last note: Do your own research before believing in whatever people type in forums.
