  1. I would just sell them off, i wouldn't keep them. It has -5s It seems to have a decent enough fuel setup already and is support 340 or so rwkw. My goal would be to sell the spares and leave the money sitting there for a stroker purely for ease of fitment as the 30 requires a fair bit of fabrication to work.
  2. I'm getting a lot of comments on Facebook (where I have a wanted to buy) and from people offering me there cars that there's no way in hell that I'll get anything remotely good for under 60k and that all cheaop GT-Rs are cheao because they are dodgy/crashed etc. How rife is that within this market? I was suspect about the respray hiding damage and will never really be able to tell, but if the k's are genuine and the car presents nicely etc, what else am I missing?
  3. Cheers, trying to do due diligence.
  4. I saw it first.... 53k including all the spares. original turbos, injectors, a spare hks silent exhaust, 2x rota rims, the rb30 short motor, power FC, etc
  5. OK more pics. Underside looks reasonable. I also spot nismo pillar garnishes. He was showing me the centre trim wrap as I spotted a poorly done job in a previous photo, he said he;s now re-done it. If need be I can replace those parts but I'm not totally against it. That exhaust looks loud 0_0 Couldn't spot any obvious signs of rear impact either (given boot lock difference mentioned). He mentioned replacing the rotors and pads as the old rotors had a small groove and he didn't see the point in machining them when new ones were so cheap (they are only RDA rotors but Project Mu pads). He said I could also have the old pads which were nearly new. Oh and he was happy with my comment of the asking price if it included ALL spares (inc the motor). A spool rb30 rebuild kit starts at 2k, the machining was 2k, so surely the assembled short motor has to be worth 3-4k.
  6. The date discrepancy seems odd but we'll see what the jap history papers say. That's also a few k's each year since it got here. Maybe daily driven?
  7. Not sure as he just sent me this. Which says 2011
  8. Got a reply from jap history and paid (got a 10 discount lol). Preliminary details show car leaving in 2008 from HAA Kobe. Pretty sure he said he bought it in 2011 but has all the paperwork - dereg etc so will be interesting to see if it matches. Also confirmed rb30 short motor included. Spool parts apparently, he's finding receipts but said he still has the boxes for pistons etc. Will add some more photos he sent me tomorrow for you guys to critique, including undercarriage.
  9. Cheers. Patience is not my best attribute...
  10. I haven't even had a payment request yet. Just the initial email to say we'll do a preliminary check and come back to you.
  11. Has anyone used the Japanese History check before? I've reached out twice with nothing back as yet.
  12. Excellent suggestion - derp. Editing now.
  13. Haven't had any response from Jap History check yet, only the auto email to say we'll do a preliminary check and come back to you. I'll be on Holiday from the 18th and will be within 4.5hrs drive of the cars location during that trip so I'm contemplating driving up on one of the days to see the car rather than waiting til early October and having to fly. I also received this, I'm awaiting more info on proof of parts used (pistons bearings etc).
  14. Am currently awaiting preliminary results from that Japanese History Check. Cheers
  15. Confirmed, I'll be down that way Sunday. The car that I'm most keen on is actually in QLD so as I said, I'm open to options.
  16. No actually, I'm not looking for a big project/build. This will be a weekend/once a month car and the occasional track day to experience it at full noise safely (will add oil cooler). I have a build thread for my track car over on NS which gets flogged a lot harder than this will.
  17. I believe he has paper work etc. So are you saying a new boot lock is all that's needed? That doesn't seem too bad at all. Thanks for that. It's currently making a bit less as he has the silent exhaust on it, 411hp, around 310 on 18psi. He's going to put the Tomei back on and have it dyno'd/checked/retuned at 20psi. Power seems about right on 98 octane. I have no e85 from the pump here so 98 is fine for me.
  18. I'm not sure about the boot lock, he said the interior release works fine, but my thought would be you'd need an all new lock/key set to have them matching. He has a hoist and encouraged us to inspect on that to see how clean it is underneath. He's clearing out all his toys that sit unused he said, is selling a number of other things also. Cheers
  19. Will definitely inspect personally before buying. Cheers
  20. All good. My plan would be to sell that RB30 or swap it for an RB28 of similar build - simply for ease of install.
  21. I'm not sure I follow what you mean. The current motor in the car is the factory 26. He has an assembled RB30 short motor and is coming back to me with receipts for all the work done so I have a full run down of the specs. Did I miss something?
  22. I thought this too, but I question how long the motor will live with a factory head gasket and bottom end at that power. Pulling the head on my track car was a pain as it was without 2 mote cylinders and an extra turbo to consider.
  23. My plan is to have my dad take a look (he's got an excellent eye and plenty of mechanical knowledge) as I'll need to fly up to see it. If my dad gives it the OK I'll have a workshop professional inspect/comp test. If that's OK I'll fly up for a final inspection/drive and leave a deposit. I'm awaiting the VIN as we speak and will do the JOC. Are people not concerned about the respray or the high k's?
  24. How does that work/how do I pursue it? And thank you. EDIT: If it's this then that's money well spent. http://www.japaneseodometercheck.com/purchase.html
