  1. Yep we've been chatting for a bit. He's given me a login to watch the auctions but obviously I'll get better results committing and giving him the finders fee. I have a really hard time doing that knowing I can't inspect or drive the car.
  2. How about you guys find me a car... R33 guy wants north of 50k, pass.
  3. As I'm in no rush I might hold out for Series 2.
  4. Racepace report on Blue car.
  5. Oh and pretty much finished modifications wise as I'm not looking for a project. I've still got my race car for that.
  6. I've looked at both of those lol If you was a 33 it would have to be a series 3 and fairly clean and likely silver to catch my attention enough to choose it over and R34.
  7. For shit ones maybe. I sold my 33 7yrs ago for 30k and it was very clean but only had 250kw... 30k these days gets a built car easily.
  8. That's the issue with any car of course. I see R34's having a better time holding some value than 33s, which will get sandwiched between 34s and 32s as 35s come down in price when the 36 arrives.
  9. The plan is to enjoy the car on weekends and the odd track day. Selling later is a possibility because R35s will get cheaper So a decent resale value would be nice.
  10. There's wiggle room on the r34. He has all original log books etc. The 33 would need to be cheaper than the 34 for me to logically consider it. Just can't justify 34 money on the previous model. Built or not. Even a mint series 3 is not going to appreciate much if at all because its a 33.
  11. Yeah I'm in no rush, this gun metal one really got the ball rolling though. The Blue 34 owner may be asking a little more than I want (56k but said negotiable). No harm in waiting.
  12. I would sell the interior and the wheels. There's nothing else on it that could be sold. The wheels would hopefully be a swap/sell enough to get something like what's on the 33. The seats would go towards series 2 interior or black race seats with series 2 rear seats. I'd then need pods and skirts and an MFD. He's also asking more and it doesn't have spares like the gun metal one.
  13. Please tell me it was an NSX. Got offered 2 other cars. The 34 is a 2000 vpsec (grey interior ) but has all the fruit for 480hp or so, is currently at racepace so I can speak to chris about it. under 50k's supposedly still has factory rotors so beleive to be genuine (of course would check). Also missing skirts and rear pods. Seats are up to 2k just for the fronts and I would want black, but I could just as easily buy nice race seats for that money or less, but then need black rear interior. Also needs MFD film replaced as is common. The 33 is a wild card, looks like a beautiful series 3 in my choice of wheels and colour and a built 26/30 with 500kw 0_0. Apparently wants 34 money for it though but said he has spent 140k on it and "everything is new and pristine". and
  14. Yeah I'm trying to think of resale value etc too.
  15. Spoke to the owner, he's pretty unhappy, not with me, but in knowing that the car has been in a hit. He mentioned that the panel beater who painted it couldn't fault the car and that he was going to strip it down on that side to inspect it himself and would take photos, for me and for his own records/peace of mind. Encouraged me to come and inspect it myself and said he had nothing to hide etc, I said I am not positioned to comment on the quality of structural repairs and that while photos would be good, at this stage I was reluctant to want to proceed. Further compression test this morning from the road worthy mechanic, not the tuner, also came back without issue. I said I'd forward on the full details for him when I had them from the check and that he was welcome to send me more photos, but that ultimately I was now stepping back. When I have the full report I'll make a final call but I don't really like the idea of risking it. Is there a dollar value that this could would sell for that would make it worth it? 40k? 30k?
  16. Did this ever sell?
  17. God I wish, that was a beautiful car. The owner was a little abrupt with me when I spoke to him though. Probably sick of tyre kickers and low ballers like me wanting it for 60k
  18. If you guys come across something that fits my needs, let me know.
  19. PM' you with no reply, though I can see you've read the message. What's the best way to contact you?
  20. Well I just got some bad news... Jap history came with this auction report and these comments. I'll await his summary but I don't think there's any mistaking the front end damage, especially if it implies an oil leak that was not minor. I realise that the repairs may have been done well, but its still of concern. "Unfortunately photos of the car at auction are no longer available since the auction took place so long ago now, just the auction sheet itself and related meta-data still exist. You may have some questions in regard to the grading which is uncommon - a zero grade was awarded to indicate that the vehicle required mechanical repairs (although not noted in detail - the oil leak noted is presumed not to have been minor). Given the other noted repairs which are structural in nature, the vehicle would have received an R grading had it not been for the oil leak issue. We'll be in touch again shortly with the registration certificate result and summary. "
