  1. The one I got for the Silvia was from a local guy, $150, 780PCA, around 280CCA, weighed a kg or two less than what I had. Perfect for a little 4 banger like mine. I reckon it'd start a small 6 easily enough too.
  2. I don't think there is one and that's the point - Random phrase chosen to denote a specific corner so the driver would remember. Maybe? I dunno just a guess
  3. He's known as The Hedgehog... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ron_Jeremy
  4. Sealed from the cabin is one thing but don't you have to vent a normal battery to the exterior of the boot space? Or is that only if there's no partition between the boot and cabin?
  5. Ahh, love that footage "You're going back through?!" OK, well Good Luck at Targa
  6. lol *facepalm* forgot about that.
  7. Did you attend this event Ben?
  8. That's good news Snowy, keep plugging away and she'll be posting quick times before you know it. Forget Evo's, I'm sure there were a stack of Evo's that didn't post that quick a times. To his credit, Newton can actually steer so I imagine he'd be up the pointy end in a GT-R also, it's not just the car. In my head, it's just a shame it seems to cost so much more to go quick in GT-R when compared to early model Evo's - At least GT-R's have some class and heritage though...
  9. Would this imply a mod chip is not far away... Having said that, I don't have a Blu-Ray burner and I cant imagine the games would be small download wise.
  10. I thought it was more as stated above, PS3 is more powerful but harder to code for. In my head this means PS3 will stay around longer and maybe possibly get better graphics as developers work out how to ring the best from it. 360 maybe retired sooner?
  11. What do you mean by run better, the ps3 is the more powerful console isn't it? Is it the general consensus that gt is better than forza? I've only had limited play time on gt. Which one would be the better media center?
  12. online play is not a huge factor as I'm a casual gamer and just play when I want or can and usually only short periods. One thing I didn't mention above was blue ray. xbox won't do that will it? Can the xbox record tv?
  13. OK I've just finished The Force Unleashed II on the Wii and I think I'm done with this console. It's modded, got about 20 or so games but I think my love for it has passed. I've been craving a racing game and I kept my original Xbox just to have Forza but it looks like puss on an LCD and it's a bit old and clunky now. So I'm thinking I might ditch the Wii and buy a second hand xbox or PS3 and get the respective racing game. So the question is, which console? The xbox can be modded which appeals to me a lot as I don't play online (are there mod chips that support online play with the xbox, my wii had no troubles online modded). The PS3 appears to have nicer graphics and a pretty swish interface for media centre capabilities (nice but not essential as I have a computer near the TV for this stuff). Throw some thoughts at me, the Xbox looks cheaper, can be modded etc but the PS3 seems more powerful, more polished (maybe it will last longer satisfaction wise with the graphics etc?) Also what about GT5 vs Forza3? I only have limited experience with both. side bar: How are you guys getting your Xbox games? I was just downloading them as torrents for the Wii, worked a treat. Cheers
  14. Keep us posted Despite being flat out with building a house, work, preparing to go on our cruise, moving house etc.. If you need me too I can look after the car for a while and conduct some scientific testing and report back on what I find. I'm just that generous
  15. I'd agree with the new tyres masking the issue until the fade, especially with the mid corner dynamics you explained. I'd have said it was a bit soft also but you've bagted that with using the other shocks and springs. I'm curious to know why you can't match the camber and castor, that obviously shows something is different. Are you running the same shocks, arms, bushes, as the previous car? Was this chassis ever involved in a bingle? Was the chassis checked with a lazer when it was stripped? How do the towers look?
  16. Interesting stuff, sounds like you've done the homework then. You'd have to think that if we're headed in the right direction and it's a diff/attessa/ type issue that you might feel the car behaving more erraticly, but you said it came good after switching computers yeah? When did you switch the computers over, have you run an event since? Is your alignment the same as the old car more or less, specifically roll centres etc. Again, I'd imagine you would "feel" this if there was something amiss in those departments but worth mentioning
  17. I'm not sure about 34's but in 33 V-Specs the rear diff is an active LSD that can split torque left and right with more finesse. The ATTESSA is also the pro version in 33 vspec so it's faster/better etc. I'm not sure what happens in 34s when you start swapping controllers and diffs around between v-spec and non v-spec versions, especially when you throw a new diff into the mix. I'd at least be spending a few minutes just making sure all the bits you have want to play nice together, especially if you're thinking it's not throwing power up front like it should.
  18. I think you need to move from being an owner/driver to more of a Pit Boss. In which case you'll need a driver, and lucky for you, I happen to be available... Interesting what you're saying though, you'd think a fresh car and lighter weight would definitely translate well in times. Is the car equal in terms of braking and engine power to the old one? How fresh are the diffs and transfer case?
  19. Awesome update. This thing is gonna be quite the little beasty when it's done, top work so far guys. Wish I had your mechanical skillz
  20. Almost time to move guys, would really like this tow pack gone. Grab a bargain. Cheers
  21. I imagine then problem at something like f/22 which you said means longer shutter speeds becomes motion blur if I was going hand held. So a tripod might be something we need to look at as well. Sometimes I actually think a good point and shoot can match these things when using auto settings or for when taking shots at parties in low light conditions etc.
  22. Yeah don't think it's the camera, it's definitely me and my expectations. The other thing I completely forgot about is that camera's are not the human eye when it comes to focus. What I mean is I was expecting to be able to take a shot like that that has very different depth throughout the shot whilst keeping everything in focus. But when I thought about it from a camera point of view it makes sense that only objects that share a particular depth within the shot can be in focus at any one time. Is there some trick to taking a shot like that and having as much as possible in focus? When playing with manual focus points I was able to get the knife block in focus and the bench etc at the same depth point but of course the background is then quite out of focus. +1 for wanting a new/better flash.
