  1. Hats off to Leon for driving like a man possessed, I was 'marginally' impressed I suppose (Thanks for the grill too, will be good to fill in that gaping maw on the S13) Hachi Roku: You drove really well so top effort on the skid pan. The Hachi might not pack much punch but it turns in like a gem. Bring it to Winton - I must have my revenge! As for me, well I had a blast (sunburn aside) and got exactly what I wanted from the day, a chance to test the new suspension settings and tyres without getting booked. I can't wait for the next Winton as the Long Wang showed me that the car now has a "truck" load more grip and stability at speed (trying to turn hard without some speed with those camber settings seems to be an issue though still). The S13 had a few bugs throughout the day but we managed to iron most of them out enough to continue driving at least. Thanks to Autobarn Shep for charging me a ludicrous sum for a cooler pipe Thanks to Ryan and Russ for the tips on the semi slick inflation too, that made a big difference to grip. Great job by Bec, Ryan etc as the day seemed to run very smoothly for the most part. I'd personally like to see some more Long Wang time in future though. Dinner was a laugh but it was a bit disappointing to see how some people behaved with a few drinks on board, those waitresses have seen a lot and can take plenty so you know if they are unhappy there's good reason. Was great to meet some new people and put faces to names, though I'm sure I asked a few of you what your name was multiple times... We've got some pretty good/funny/messy shots from the Mexican place so I'll sift through and throw some up later on tonight. Special mention to Campbell and Tim for their photographic efforts, I think I laughed hardest at pics you guys are in - bloody posers
  2. I think reg's say within reasonable reach from your seated position. I have mine bolted to the passenger between the floor and the side of transmission tunnel. I pass scrutineering no worries. I've also seen people place them on the cage if you have one and on the floor behind the passenger seat or on the exposed metal if you have no rear seats. All pass OK. The glovebox is not OK
  3. Awesome, can't wait! I'll do my best to be there by 8am. I'm coming down that morning and towing the car so we'll see how we go
  4. So what were the groups in the end or do we find out on the day?
  5. Locking the trailer to the tow car or the trailer to the car sitting on it? I had the same issue, the nuts are crap. I used one size smaller ring spanner and bashed it into the nut with a hammer and was able to remove it that way, then replace it. I am, mine go on the rims tomorrow hopefully. They're just cheap second handers but they will be worlds better than the wung chung wii's that are on it. lol goon
  6. I just spoke to the place and they said down the end where we are there's bout 8 spots to 5 rooms so it depends on who has trailers etc. Getting in an out is a driveway type affair so if you drive in then you have to reverse out, there's no turning around etc. I asked as this is my first time towing a car so reversing it could be fun He also said often times people park single cars in the spaces and cars with trailers then park in the driveway which blocks the single parked cars in. There's also the street but I'm not sure I like the idea of leaving the Silvia out on the street. I guess I could always take the silvia off the trailer and park it in the alloted space and leave the Ford and the trailer out front. Have to play it by ear I reckon.
  7. You serious? do you mean our car, trailer and the car we are towing all sits out on the street? or just the trailer and towed car? either way i don't really like the idea of leaving the track car on the street, especially in shep.
  8. You know I hadn't even considered that... Bec,, what's the go with parking our cars/trailers at the hotel? I know I'm not the only one trailering.
  9. Trailer it there, if something goes wrong it beats having to leave and come back to get the busted car. I weighed up and decided that having to get home, get a trailer (or parts) go back fix or load the car then come home again was enough grief that trailering the car was worth it.
  10. Yeah I'm considering something like that myself, see how it goes at DECA. I made feet for it as I bought it without but otherwise there's nothing on the other side - I have used some washers to spread the load a little though and each leg of the spoiler has 6 bolts holding it down but I'm worried about the S13 boot lid peeling open like a can lol The spoiler is a twin blade adjustable c-west job Yay for new suspension, boo for canary =( I'm putting mine on a trailer this time too, don't wanna have to stuff around with getting it home if it breaks.
  11. Got my spoiler on last night (noticed the S13 boot lid is not that strong - I should probably make up some brackets or something but for now it's bolted to the boot lid - Russ, did you make up any support brackets for under the boot lid or anything or is yours a straight fit?)) Catch can goes in tonight then car will go in to get the alignment done (rear camber arms went in last week) and have the semi's put on my gay rims. Can't wait for the weekend
  12. I think everyone just knows that Dave is the man and there's no point going up against him.. he's the Juggernaut!
  13. Spoiler acquired, this can be closed
  14. I'm listening... PM me what u have.
  15. lol I'm running a CA, don't talk to me about a little more power!
  16. Awesome idea Doing it...
  17. You were doing official duties at the last one, that's the only one I've been to.
  18. lol 'sifnt! U bringing the pulsar this time?
  19. Don't get me wrong, I couldn't care less what other people think I'm just pumped and looking forward to it. I'll be letting everything go, including my rear end
  20. Hmm, no idea, stock the CA's make SFA power and I think with the few mods I have wouldn't make a huge difference (hence why CA's are so cheap ) DECA is the best place to learn it all, low risk, no cops, people who are there to help. It's great, you'll love it.
  21. Hah, yeah I was passengering early on this year and I was confused as, should be a hoot behind the wheel lol
  22. Well then it'll come down to driving, so I'm REALLY screwed and I can't even blame lack of power for losing Yeah will be a blast, come on the 15th!
  23. I don't care enough about drift to warrant it, personally don't mind what I drift on for the whole 2-3 times a year it'd happen. 8's are coming at the end of the month for circuit though
  24. it's not about choosing to go skinnier, it's about having two sets of rims, one set is 8" so they will be my circuit rims as they are more suited to the 235 rubber and another set are 7" so they will be my skid rims because I don't take drift seriously and don't mind if I bang them up plus they will suit the thinner cheapr rubber I have on hand that I don't mind burning up.
