I think your car is stalling because your BOV could be faulty. myself and others have never come across this problem. 3. My oil press gauge reads at 4 as well np
  2. Hey dude. I good way of checking whether its pinging from timing is put some Octane booster in. Pinging should go away. if so then your timing is too advanced. Too hot! Does it do it at night? If it doesnt could also mean its advanced timing. Skylines are timed to 100RON not 98 so ur under fueling it for a start Or you could take it back to the dealer and get their techs to retard the timing slightly until u can properly get it tuned.
  3. Its not as big as u think! Ok well diced the highflowed T28 Comp housing and GT30 wheel and replaced it with a bell mouthed Aireasearch T04b housing and wheel and matched it up with the standard T3 exhaust housing but has a T4 vtrim exhaust wheel crammed in. This time we diced the normal hiflowed ex wheel and put a shallower one on to get a bit more spool back Before It had full spool on the RB25 by 3500 and now im hoping inbetween 3200 and 3500 but still produce the same amount of horeses but a slight chop in High end grunt. Good quality bearings and apparently warranty no problem with high boost applications if need be Not Cheap tho ud be looking at about $1800 mine was a bit cheaper because we found the T4 wheel, and no machining needed to be done because the turbo had already been hiflowed.
  4. hehehe did u like it? Sorry the T3 looks small doesnt it. But I use that turbo only against larger turbos.... I got mine against a t2 as well looks pretty pityful You will be happy with a T3 They have slightly bigger ex housings than the rb25s and much bigger wheels so top end will be great.

  8. The problem is that the standard reg is kinda matched with the standard pump! U put an oversized pump in and u create a problem which is usually fixed with an adjustable fuel regulator, thats what there purpose is for! If he had put a bosch 040 600hp pump in im sure he would have no choice but to do that. But as what i will do when i put my 910 pump in is use the SAFC to adjust the fuel levels right again which if i had the money i would do both but alas turbo comes first because a turbo car aint no good with out a turbo
  9. If you want to run 17 psi thru your ceramic turbine wheel you can yes I wouldnt recomend it! Pressure drop over your standard cooler is pretty much logarithmic Its designed to flow 6.8psi (say 1psi drop) 12psi it may have only a couple of psi drop. The cfm (flow) of the turbo @15psi or thereabouts is like trying to squeeze a 1Jz Supra engine into a corolla Im not speaking out of my ass I know guys who have run 12 to 15 psi and they are lucky to some point but then again DRIFTR33 Blew his turbine at a mere 9psi and wassabi hehe he just cranked her up till she rattled Do your cooler first and you can make your turbo last longer@12psi i wished now that i had done that mine blew at 13.5psi but not only did it blow it tore the shaft off turbine went out exhaust and compressor wheel went into cooler ie engine (Bang)

  11. Not a problem, sounds as if it all worked out. You will be running a bit richer now with the new pump and nice new noise... Good news for me too I got my turbo back tonight it gets bigger everytime jhehehe

Ok ok my turn i couldnt wait till the end of this post so i could talk haha Rob You sound as if u are doint the right things its just a matter of time altho i personally think that anything under 13.9 is just silly, because u dont have the top speed yet! And dont run 1 bar I personally have a suspension problem at the drags and cant better 2.5 60ft time apart from the fact i usually blow something up! Rev210 Ben is right with the intercooler being just as much a problem as the turbo. Do you think at 1bar there is no drop in pressure over that tiny intercooler? Apparently 6psi with 15@plenum chamber. Thats a nice 21 psi thank you very much quoted in and old zoom mag issue. Thats busting your turbos ass...put a FMIC on and pressure drop is less.. Dont worry about adam32 hes just jealous that he cant get in the 13s either :lol: :lol:

  15. I dont recomend running more than 1bar on standard RB25DET due to its high compression ratio! Hiflowing your standard turbo can be reliable and PROVEN horsepower gainer without any other turbo mods...Providing you find someone that can Build u a good quality hiflo unit just dont ask me........:eek:

No Hybrid Brand he is talking about not apexi I have one in my machine seems to be of good quality its a 600x300x75 i think it cost $900 but i think the price has come down a bit more since i bought mine. No problems so far i recommend them over a Jap "brand" name, aussies arent too bad at doing that sort of shit

Shit yeah you are pulling out a roller bearing turbo (sorry im not sure about others but i have a vg30 nonbb) with small .48 or similar exhaust housing with tiny wheel now you will be upgrading to somthing with much larger exhaust iun comparison.. Im guessing you wont get full boost till 3500 does this sound about right? I had one on a CA18DET and it didnt give me full boost till about 3700rpm. As for the other guys I mentioned 18psi as a ball park figure with other mods to acheive 300rwhp from an rb20...But as Inasnt said it is absolute max rating! Id be saving up a bit more and going for a HKS 2540 or the like if i was in your boat Jimih :burnout: You still have to do cooler first and some engine management

  20. You will also need a filter sock $20 a threaded adapter to fit the new pump to existing line (old one just clip on) $20? And some sort of bracket as it wont fit where the original pump lies, i used some fuel resistant hose that slipped over pump. $30?

  24. And that comes from the LagMasterAdam32 2 choices that u can do. Hi flow your existing turbo and no other mods or Buy a T3 and rebuild it then posible mounting issues because T3s come from VL Turbos and 300zxs or the like. The T25 has to go You can run a modified turbo with no other mods such as FMIC and Retuned fuel curve but u wont get much benifit until these are both done + u will be running minimal boos without a fmic if u whacked on da turb first!   25. You could prolly get 350 rwhp out of them safely but boost is the problem with the higher than normal Compression ratio! I think 1 bar is as far as i would go unless dropping this compression down with a mtal head gasket. Also the pistons are very fragile this is what usualy goes first thats why the mention of the aftermarket Fuel management. If they lean out they will go bang!:burnout:
