  1. Yeah I have a vented bonnet. So frustrating!!
  2. So you reckon retaining the factory oil warmer/cooler is no good for performance application?
  3. yeah the BKR's are used in SR's although you can use the BCP in there and the coilpack makes a much firmer contact with it.
  4. nah haydens car never overheats. so defo something up with mine. due to it being a silvia engine bay im restricted as it is. i can only just fit the clutch fan in with a stock GTR rad (which is twin row) anything thicker and i cant fit a shroud. I used to run a ASI 40mm alloy rad. but had issues with that also! i will chuck another clutch fan/hub combo on and see how it goes sofitting termo to the front of the IC not gonna help much?
  5. nah ive got a 16 row oil cooler which is in the front corner of the car in direct air flow
  6. yes as far as i can tell it is working correctly ive got a tube and fin I/C its located 10mm in front of my radiator. its 76mm thick also. i made an alloy under tray and an alloy air box to funnel air from front bar to the intercooler. this helped at higher speeds but doesnt make any difference at low/medium speeds.
  7. hey guys.. weather is warming up again and i still have cooling system woes and nothing i do seems to solve it. Ive tried various things and nothing seems to work :S currently has RB30E fan hub RB25 neo fan blade shroud brand new GTR calsonic rad new water pump new thermostat good coolant problem was huge at an event just gone.. was 30+ degrees and with just one lap (drifting, lap last 30 sec's tops) temps go from 85 degrees to 110 and oil temp around 100-110c. if i run the water squirters i have for the cooler/rad it comes back down to 100 but no lower. then if i do a few more runs it just gets real warm and coolant sits at 110 and oil at 110-120 :S cooling sys is bled and head was off not long ago and checked for issues.. none found and MLS gasket and ARP studs fitted and reinstalled. havent had an issue lately due to mild weather but yeah even then with extended runs the temps will climb. thinking about chucking two thermo's in front of my intercooler to force air thro them and the radator. only thing i can think of is that because tghey are close together then the clutch fan is finding it harder to draw air thro.... but im open to suggestions.
  8. its a pretty small cooler tho i would defo fit a larger one. MV autos here in adelaide have done a lot of work with the jap auto boxes.. they can beef them right up
  9. as mentioned.. there is vertually zero carbon build up in an e85 fuelled engine. will be clean as a whistle inside. however if its rich and you do a lot of cold starts it will have a lot of condensation/moisture build up leading to the corrosion you see
  10. should be fine.. just get a transcooler also.
  11. thats bullshit.. people have used them in street cars with zero issues. anyway the injectors can be had dirt cheap now.. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170422792434&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT thats for 3/4 length. rail spacer not needed. Go to bursons or motor traders for the plugs. 22 bucks for 6 of them and then solder them onto your injector loom.
  12. Deka 80 lbs are cheaper. handle e85 no worries also.
  13. Get siemens Deka 3/4 length 80lb injectors. Fit straight in. Cheap at around 450 a set and great injectors
  14. haha cheers! i got back yesterday from drift attack... qualified 1st over all and came 4th in the end.. had some issues with my eye sight (got a rock in my eye earlier in the day and it got irritated badly) so im lucky to be able to do as well as i did. DJRIFT: they suggested i buy driftworks arms... which are just china shit painted orange :S i will be able to make it work but its just a PITA
  15. not much of an update. bought some driftworks rear hubs and they dont fit my car closer inspection sees the trac arm, and camber arm fouling the driveshaft on susp compression.. in pics the susp is unloaded so put back together and went skidding for sats prac night.
  16. either way the torque settings will be the same
  17. take it to garage 7 in mount barker.. they will do an awesome job
  18. so if a hilux is no good. and people bag the navara's.. what else is there around that price thats any good. I dont have the coin for a v10 toerag lol
  19. i'll put my hand up. im forever doing work with various different products.
  20. Looking at a new hilux for towing. Anyone got any real world feedback. I'm after the double cab sr 4x4 3l turbo diesel. Rated at 2500. Thing is their payload rating is 900kgs which is guaranteed while towing 2500kg with 5 ppp and full tank so it seems good but yeah I haven't done a test tow
