  1. well crank is back in... got my rods resized with ARP bolts and they go back in today... it should all be back together this weekend. with the crank i had it in and out no less then 15 times measuring and checking bearing clearances... we then had to do some work to make sure they were all spot on. time consuming stuff.
  2. really? they heaps weak hey? i wonder why theres so many rb20/25's in drift that smash the limited all day every day without issues
  3. belt. idler, tensioner, water pump. strip and refit.
  4. Yeah I don't mess around. Coolant flush is usually extra time tho
  5. its not a days work... its 3 hours if you know what you're doing... ive done at least 100 timing belt changes on skylines now lol.
  6. thats cheap if all parts are included.. you need to make sure that it includes tensioner, idler, water pump as well. wtb western sub's of where?

  9. got my crank linished and fitted with crank collar and some new ACL mains bearings.. anyway just checking the clearances with plastigauge and they seem to be all over the shop! they measure out to be the following ( i checked 4 times, also swapping bearings around with each other) 1: 0.050 2 thou 2: 0.050 2 thou 3: 0.250 1 thou 4: 0.038 1.5 thou 5: 0.038 1.5 thou 6: 0.050 2 thou advice needed
  10. Haha nah I drained the oil first. But I still got some oil on me.
  11. Since mates of mine own a crash shop I used a dent puller. The type that spot welds a rivet on and you attach a pull type slide hammer to that and pull the area down. Worked real well til I tore a rivet out a d put a hole in the sump lol. Well I spot welded that on the car also
  12. its fine.. ive done much worse
  13. im doing the engine assy myself. southcotts did the crank regrind/check/collar mods for me
  14. i would have found a way to make it work lol. well good news anyway i got my new crank tested, fitted with crank collar, ACL race mains and big end bearings supplied, and maching of crank for 400... not a bad price! just need to re-assy. check tolerances and then put it back together
  15. lol wish u pm'd me about the bottom end.. i would have snapped it up. but now ive gone and spent money fixing mine
  16. 9;1 and it will be a dream to drive off boost as well as on boost
  17. stock gauge... may as well be using sand in an hourglass to measure it....
  18. i wanna get my hands on a NA neo motor and put a set of GTR ITb's on it and have exposed trumpets and run a 6 into 4 into 1 extractor set up... raise the limiter to 8500 and tune it on E85 with some timing cranked into it... now that would be awesome in a light car
  19. 900 egt is way beyond normal. too hot. must be choking like a bitch. its laggy cause the tuner probably cant put ANY timing into it without inducing detonation
  20. maybe they just dont actually know and assume it will work. either way poor form. 666DAN: wanna pull one apart for us
  21. everything sounds great but i would go with 9:1 or 8.5:1 CR as a minimum.. but thats just me

  23. You could use them in the block no worries but not with your head I wouldn't think
