  1. Oh, and before you all pay me out about not being able to drive a car, the clutch was slipping on launches when I bought it over a year ago, so I think I've done well to baby the car this far on a stuffed clutch
  2. Clean??? I was thinking that it was dirty and could use a going over with a soapy cloth before the engine goes back in!!!
  3. There's a challenge for you guys... Circle the nitrous solenoids in the photo!!!
  4. Who needs clutch material? metal-on-metal works GREAT!!!
  5. I don't know what's wrong with it... Everytime I touch the throttle, and it goes above 2000rpm, it just revs out and doesn't go anywhere!!! It's so annoying because I'm getting beaten by Civics, Hyundais and Ladas!  Could this have something to do with it?
  6. If you think you're getting impatient and excited, spare a thought for poor little me!!! The car is in the workshop as we speak, and I'm going in tomorrow morning to take photos of the engine which has just been completely stripped down
  7. That's ummmm........... quite impressive
  8. Even simple mods like exhaust and chip for the S4 are HORRENDOUSLY priced
  9. I can't tell you to stop, nor do I want you to... I'd just like you to know that just because we don't have brain dumps all the time, it doesn't mean that we don't know what goes on behind the surface "drivel" that we engage in
  10. Why must you always treat everyone as if they were of inferior intellect? That is extremely elementary physics and flow dynamics, and I'm sure everyone realises that boost is just a measure of engine resistance to airflow. But that is the accepted way of measuring what the turbos are doing, as not everyone is fluent in CFM of airflow or RPM of turbo shaft speed Yes, not all psi are equal, but that's what we have to work with, and most engines in question are of stock heads and just exhaust upgrades and perhaps camshafts in the way of airflow upgrades.... Boost is a good general indication of turbo response, all other things being equal.
  11. Ribs & Rumps in Manly DEFINITELY gets my vote!!!!!!!!
  12. I know of TWO Midnight Purple GTRs in NSW. Just because they're like whores in Melbourne, doesn't mean that they're common in the big picture It's a fact that there were a LOT less Midnight Purple GTRs made than say Silver, White and Black ones.
  13. Definitely the 16" wheels, and let the tyre pressure down to about 20psi
  14. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I don't want a lag monster! GT-RS turbos are only suitable for RB28 or RB30 engines, not standard capacity RB26s... They're more of a drag setup, capable of 800hp. I want response response response! I don't care about peak power, I want a nice fat torque curve and did I mention response?
  15. So AnthonyK1... oops sorry, I mean WiDeBoI_2JZ  How's your brother's V8 R34 GTR going?
  16. I still haven't seen or heard concrete results from these GT-SS Turbos. Everything has been hearsay. I don't even know if they'll make 300awkw!!! If they can make 1 Bar by 3200rpm, and crack 300awkw, I'll be EXTREMELY impressed. Time will tell, gimme about a month
  17. I don't think the GT-SS will still be efficient at 1.6 Bar... I can tell you for sure in about a month's time... I personally wouldn't change from R34 N1s to GT-SS... You've already got awesome turbos!
  18. And after all that money, it's still a Nissan. I'd take the Carrera GT over a R34 GTR with $800,000 worth of mods anyday.
  19. ceramic.
  20. Poor Toulia So where are we going next month?
  21. Look in your engine bay for your blue Nissan Build Plate, and look for a 3 letter code and match it up to the table I posted above... That's the table for R34 GTR, which has a few more colour choices than the GT-t, but all the GT-t colours should be there I think...
  22. I was going to be rude, but I just don't have the energy tonight RH9 (Jason's car) is Midnight Purple II. The R34 on Parramatta Rd, and the one posted by Funky is Midnight Purple III. R34 GTRs had TWO Midnight Purple colours FROM FACTORY... Yes, that's right... Contrary to what you seem to be so sure of, it IS a factory colour. Here are the paint codes for BNR34: TV2 : Bayside Blue QM1 : White KR4 : Sonic Silver KV2 : Athlete Silver GV1 : Black Pearl AR2 : Active Red EV1 : Lightning Yellow LV4 : Midnight Purple II LX0 : Midnight Purple III WV2 : Sparkling Silver QX1 : White Pearl EY0 : Sillica Breath JW0 : Millennium Jade
