  7. That Crystal in Chiba was the best shop EVAR!!! Did you walk along the road from Sports Centre JR to Top Secret or did you catch a cab? There are heaps of car yards and tuning shops along the way... There's a Yellow Hat along the way too Looks like you had fun Those photos bring back a LOT of memories :)

  9. Voted: Ribs & Rumps in Manly
  10. I emailed Darius @ CP Pistons at length, and he presented me with quite a few options. I couldn't believe how many different ring combinations they had available!!! Coupled with custom compression ratio, and CP Groove, and lateral gas porting, I had my hands full with choosing the right custom piston for me. But although lateral gas porting helps achieve a greater ring seal, apparently the ports can fill up with deposits and reduce the efficiency of the porting, and are more suited for race applications where engines are pulled down and rebuilt every few races. But the off-the-shelf piston, comes with the CP Groove, and raises compression from 8.6:1 to about 8.8:1... Coupled with decking the block/head (increasing compression slightly) and 1.2mm head gasket (lowering compression slightly), I should end up with a net compressoin ratio of about 8.9-9:1 which sounds perfect. I'm really against dropping the compression ratio to facilitate using higher boost.
  11. Good point... Do you have them or does Mark have them? I'll send Mark an email
  12. Maybe that happens with Melbourne engine builders...
  13. GTRs with working engines??? THAT'S A MYTH AND YOU KNOW IT!!!! Shouldn't take too long to run it in... It'll take me one weekend and about $500 worth of petrol
  14. Home Brand products come to the rescue
  15. OS Giken Twin Plate has been sitting in my house for about 6 months, I've just waited this long so I could get the clutch replaced for free when I got the engine built and clutch removed anyway  I'm such a cheapskate Steve: LOVE THE AVATAR!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! bendertiger: I guess the technological "advances" would the be automatic slushbox
  16. lazza: It's a little known fact, that home brand makes the best engine oils on the market!!! They're superior to Motul and Royal Purple, and about half the price!!! They smell nice and laverndery too! They're marketed as "Fabric Softener" as lwells mentioned * ferni: Engine was in perfect health, everything was in top notch shape, with perfect 165 compression across all cylinders. * Disclaimer: I take no responsibility for anyone putting home brand fabric softener in their engines... It is possible that the home brand box was just used to house the Trust sump extension kit
  17. mod_rewrite... One of the best apache tools And I agree with using the .htaccess file for the above, that's what it's for. Otherwise you'd have to restart apache for every change. Might not make a difference with SAU, but on a commercial site, that's something to be avoided at all costs.
  18. That's true Gojira, but easily fixed with a simple wire I also think they look wrong with only the outside lights lighting up when the brakes are depressed. All four light up when the headlights are on though... N/A: Series 1 GTS and GTR (1995) have an unpainted, clear centre section that says "SKYLINE"... On the Series 2 GTS and Series 2 and 3 GTR, that part is painted to match the body colour.
  19. That's the rear end of a 1997/1998 Series 3 GTR. The white light is the reverse light, the red light is the rear fog lamp.
  20. It's yours for a set of Enkei RPF1 wheels I think that handbag would go well with the sequined dress I saw you wearing last Saturday!!!
  21. @ all the Fast & Furious comments!!!! Guys, those are all the stock bits... The engine has just been completely stripped down... Block is getting machined, bored and honed out 20 thou, decked, etc etc.. Head is getting decked and serviced... Sump is getting the Trust sump extension welded on, and then once everything is ready, we'll lay out all the new parts that are going in the engine, and I'll post up those pics Here are the new bits going into the engine
