Yeah, sorry - Im in Hobart, Tasmania, cheers -
Hey All, Well it has come that time, sell the car or start pimping my ass! The car in question is a R32 GTS4 Engine: RB20DET Transmission: 5sp Manual, ATESSA 4wd The car has all the mod cons; climate control a/c, electric mirrors, windows auto front spoiler and a working sunroof The only modifications are: a 3" Trust Cat back exhaust Pod filter Heavy duty clutch Adjustable castor arms The engine was replaced with a low k's import that used to be hooked up to an auto (I spun a big end) then I blew a turbo, and replaced it with a stock rb20 unit, the turbo still has visible balancing marks - currently running standard boost, the previous owner had a switchable boost controller installed, but I unhooked it - can be easily made to work. Now to the killer blow, the car was stolen one night, but fortunatly the only got 500m down the road before hitting a curb and breaking the castor rod (which I have replaced with adjustables) but has broken the pasenger side skirt. The filthy thieves then decided to try remove the wing with a screwdriver and damaged the paint on the boot and rear 1/4, I have repaired this and have it ready for a top coat (currently matt black) they then stole my sub and took the face off the sterio... So baisicaly it needs a bit of paint, I spoke with a painter who said it would cost roughly $3-400, a new side skirt (or fix the old one) and a head unit or a new face (the speakers are 6.5" coaxials in custom door mounts behind the standard grills hooked up to a 2x100wrms amp, with all the cabling to support 500wrms in the boot) Otherwise, the car is mechanically great, I have been spending a lot of time carrying out every bit of maintenance I can find to do - cleaning afm, ic pipes, coilpacks, changed gearbox+diff oils etc... and I have a boot full of spare parts So asking price is a negotiable $, to a good home, I will be sad to see it go. Pm me or call 0400 996 522 Dave

Revenge! Need Help To Get Back At A Pranksta
Medium Dave replied to GODTHRILA's topic in WA Wasteland
Take a small flatblade screwdriver and lever off a few keys on his keyboard then replace them in the wrong order. If he has an old style phone open the reciever and tape in a 10c coin every week till he gets used to the weight, then remove them all at once and call him -
Nice one, cheers

Ok, silly question can I use a 33 gtst fuel pump in my r32 gts4 to get me by till I can afford a proper bosch unit. I guess it should be ok, but today I dont want to leave anything to chance - its just having one of those... years

Thanks Dale, I will take them all apart tonight, clean them up and re-assemble Edit: Fixed, it was the turbo - the bolts attatching it to the manifold were a little loose, thanks guys

Hey all, I just managed to get my car running really nicely, now after driving for about half an hour over the mountain I turned around at the bottom to go home and then on boost there was a slightly demented whistling noise that increases with more boost, like there is air excaping under the pressure. I have checked all the hoses and they are tight. I went for another drive and the whistle seemed to flutter when I went over a bumpy section of road, could this be the standard bov giving up? or could it be something else? -I had a turbo die rercently, and it sounds different, oh and I am running standard boost, any ideas much appreciated

Go through a tank of good petrol so it will clean out the old stuff, then warm up the car, stop, disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and put your interior light on. This will re-set the computer and it will go into learning mode. Connect the battery and go for a drive, the computer will learn where to advance the timing for the given petrol. If you want to, do a search for 'hunting' issues, you should be able to find a whole bunch of maintenance tips, cheers Dave Edit - 'ah, February, you probably have gone through a tank by now, eh'

Complete waste of time, I read a third party test on a dyno that showed a drop in hp from the restriction!

Gts4 On Rwd Dyno - Driveshaft Removal
Medium Dave replied to Medium Dave's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
He said it would be ok, but for peace of mind - the clutch packs are pretty close together - safety first -
Hey Guys, Just want a definite answer to a stupid question, I have booked my car in to a rwd dyno, but being a 32 gts4 I have a switch to disengage the 4wd, but the dyno operator would prefer me to remove the driveshaft, now I assume he means the driveshaft that connects the transfer case to the front diff? and If i remove that, switch off the 4wd and gaffa tape over the hole in the xfer case, will I do any damage driving 5k to the workshop? (I would let the mech' do it, but he's doing me a bit of a favour, so I dont want to waste his time) I had a search, but my search button skills are not so premium, and I have finally got the car running really smoothly... just in time to sell it, so Im a little paranoid, im far too financially crippled to have to fix it again Thanks all

Or a tafe corse at least, a lot of employers will look to tafe for suitable candidates before advertising, and get yourself out there, drop around to the places you want to work, introduce yourself (get on the net and figure out who to talk to first) leave a grat resume. Good luck! Edit - Use the job agencies like steps for resume stuff, they have a lot of good ideas but I have never found them helpful for finding an actual job tho (mabey thats just me, I dunno)

I got my air re gassed not long ago, they had to change the fittings which was baisically screwing an adaptor on the original fitting which they charged an extra $60 for (saw me coming) and the total bill was 150, this was in tas tho.

I have seen this once or twice before and I have been able to ressurect the motherboard by replacing the blown caps, they are there to protect the rest of the motherboard, but you need to find the exact same type of cap to replace them with, but you can usually find them on old motherboards.

I would definitly be interested in learning how to get it to pre-top coat stage, the paint on my sky is pretty average + I have a reasonable amount of patience
