OK so we shouldn't be receiving any more spam PMs. I've put in two methods of blocking this: If you're just a regular member then you can only send one PM every 5 mins. SAU VIC, WA, QLD and NSW club members, mods, admins, traders and contributors can send unlimited PM's... the assumption here is that we've verified who you are so we trust you. Also if your postcount is below 10, then you can no longer PM. This will hopefully weed out people who sign up and then supply the login to bots. I'll run a few cleanup queries tonight which should remove the spam PM's from your inboxes if they're still there. If you do get anymore spam PM's (ie after the time I posted this) please let me know, as it means the bots are circumventing the above patches. Thanks for your patience guys.

Recommended Coilovers For Street Drifting?
funkymonkey replied to geraus's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I have a set of Ohlins struts and springs, 10k front and 12k rear, which I use for track and street. Its bumpy as fuck and I can never keep cup of coke without spillage from a trip to maccas. the struts and springs are matched and lowers the car to a very useable height. Combined with some roll centre adjusters and roll bars I've found this to be my perfect track combination. Leagues better than any off the shelf "coilover" IMHO. I also have a ceffy which has a more sedate spring rate for daily driving Plus I also have a set of stock suspension in my garage, in case the constabulary question my strange taste in suspension. I doubt many guys who buy coilovers EVER adjust the fuckers. When you know what spring rate you want and what height you want your car to sit at, just buy the best strut n spring combo you can afford. Guranteed more bang for buck than coilovers which you'll install once then never touch again unless you get defected (and even then you'll only put it up till its cleared). Anyone that claims to use the adjustable dampening or height on a regular basis is on crack. I've found most guys I know with street cars adjust theirs maybe once a year at best. -
back before the GTR was born, in the late 60's there was a car called the GT-B, which basically won the Skyline's first race in japan. It was an N/A straight 6, with 4 doors. (Pete in SA has one of these, however Marvin, runs an RB20 from memory http://www.cardomain.com/ride/547037) Autech in collaboration with Nissan, made the Autech R32 GTB commemoration edition. True to its ancestor, this car was a 4 door straight 6 N/A. They used the R32 GTS4 chassis as its base, and the RB26 engine, with different compression etc to account for the lack of turbos, however it retained the GTR's individual throttles. The body was massaged at Autech after leaving Nissan's assembly line, before it was painted in Autech poo brown/green Anyways, that's todays history lesson over with kiddies. It may be a shit spec to some of you guys (yes you guys who say "lolfag auto N/A"), but if you knew the history behind it, its a true collectible. And technically you could import it, as the engine is actually a valid RB26DETT, and the chassis is a valid GTS4. Just depends on how lenient the compliancer is with the paperwork

in any case... if you want some pointers from guys who've done it before, have a good read of this thread: http://www.driftworks.com/forum/drift-car-...rift-car-8.html The build itself is fuckin epic. They used an RB30 engine (aus spec RB30 block with RB26 head) and a Kenne Bell 2.8H twin scroll (which IMHO is the sweetest sounding supercharger when mated to a big Ford 5.4L). http://www.kennebell.net/superchargers/for...elby/Shelby.htm There's also a R34 drag car in NZ that runs 660hpish on a Procharger F1R Supercharger, again bolted to an RB30.

most people who spend 100,000 on a car are buying something like an R35 GTR, or are pulling off a tax scam (and don't tell me half the big money autosalon entries aren't tax writeoffs). you're getting into debt to build this. just seems like you're making emotional decisions instead of rational ones that's all, and I'm sure half the people posting "against" you are trying to point that out. everyone loves an innovator, but innovation at what cost?

Flying Gold Coast to Osaka on June 22nd and coming back on the 9th of July... lol I'm being dragged there by a friend who's into the cultural stuff... apparently there's a Tanabata festival or something which will be cool to see. In mid june there's a dragon boat race too as well. All I know is that there's a D1 round on the 26th and 27th of June. This time the trip's gonna be more of a cultural trip than a car-trip. Mind you if you see a guy trying to check in two R34 GTR seats as excess baggage on the flight back, that'll be me. I'll have to try and catch up with the J-Spec japan crew in tokyo as well, and try and meet up with Laurence n some of the ZT JP guys to go out n get drunk and smash some random box at a seedy love hotel.

Supercharging R34 Skyline
funkymonkey replied to ahjosh's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Cara's spending 30K, Josh just wants to build a stealth supercharger using stock parts from other engines etc.
