Supercharging R34 Skyline
funkymonkey replied to ahjosh's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
it can be done, but I'm not sure how in a stealth way... I guess whatever info you can gleam off this: There's a bloke in VIC who runs a twin scroll on his RB25DE. The SC14's a great little supercharger, I ran it on a 3SGTE on one of my previous cars with some custom piping, belts and pulleys. I still say just turbo it and hope for the best, run a hidden recirc valve instead of an atmo BOV etc. -
Supercharging R34 Skyline

that's fuckin hilarious coming from someone who's stroking their N/A and adding forced induction in the hope of making big power. I dunno if you're aware, but Nissan stroked the RB engine to 2.6L and added two turbos to it about 20 years ago. Its quite cheap these days and can happily make 11ty billion kw given the amount of money you'll end up spending on stroking the 2.5L and custom supercharger kits. $30,000? you could sell that N/A 34 to some unfortunate P plater at premium prices and buy yourself an R34 GTR using the money you'd save on supercharging. AFAIK stroking an N/A to 2.7L and adding a supercharger to it is the most fucked up thing I've heard. And doing it to be different just reeks of someone trying to be a hero. So please, don't be the kettle that calls the pot black. -
just go to any aluminium/sheet metal place and buy a square metre of expanded metal sheet offcut. usually free if you work your charm, or at worst a lunch and a drink. sif buy from autobarn. eg: http://www.sankey.com.au

there's no "not connected" bullshit when it comes to these rules. if you have one in your car it's illegal. by that misconception if you have a 600AWKW GTR and ran an actuator switch to hold the wastegate open all the time (thus making no boost) you'd be legally allowed to drive it? No. If you can't make the car more powerful to go faster, then just make the car lighter and the engine more efficient. ie. sell your car and buy an S2000... which is still within the P plate rules. Besides, just use the allocated time to get better at driving your car, work your suspension etc. When you're off your P's you can upgrade to a turbo car. Failing that, just take the risk and run a turbo, if you get done then sell your car and go back to the drawing board, if you don't... count your blessings. Just don't waste your time and money on stuff like superchargers. -
big giant red hairy ones. oh. i mean... cramped seating, virgin blue style service, delays and to top it off, not one single good looking young Japanese stewardess. all old bats. I dunno, 1 or 2 hour flights are fine if they're shit, by the time you feel like yelling at someone you have to get off the plane anyways, but on long flights I think the extra creature comfort goes a long way and is wortht he extra quid.

and for the love of god put her in some fashionable clothes. women up here are fucking stuck in the 80's with their fashion, fuckin hipster emo trolls. I swear if it wasn't for the vaginas on them they'd be just about as useful to society as the emo arafat scarf toting skinny jeans wearing whiteboys up here. goldcoast women on the other hand are much nicer to look at. mmmmm. god bless coasties and good weed from byron bay.

Revolution Racegear Aus Flush Bonnet Pins.
funkymonkey replied to Spunky Munky's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Bought a pair of AeroCatch's out of the UK about a year ago without the locks for $80 including postage (i remember they retailed for 30 pounds), i'd say they'd be a bit cheaper now. The ones with the locks were $110 back then. Great design, awesome customisability (you can mount the pin in 3 different directions, so it doesn't necessarily have to go into the radiator mount (although this is the easiest and most aesthetically pleasing way on the skylines)... the template that comes with it is a great help too when installing. There's only one brand, AeroCatch... I haven't really come across any knockoffs or china brand copies yet, although at the prices shipped out of the UK I cbf'd with a copy. Fucked if I can remember who the retailer in the UK was though. -
here's a rough guide: agree on a name. it has to represent everyone equally, and be expandable in the future. That's why I named this section the V-Series Skyline section and not the 350GT section. make a logo that's not fancy, but has something unique to it, and is easily associated with the brand/model you're representing make sure the logo looks good on a black background as well as a white background make sure that the logo is simple enough to hand trace if needed (this comes into effect when you have a club sticker run, simple design = simple vinyl cutups) make sure the logo is structured in such a way so it draws attention from the text in it. cos when you have a sticker on the back of your car you don't want people reading the text before seeing the logo. Keep cursive and flourish fonts to a minimum. just cos you can read that fancy french flowy writing doesn't mean every one else can. Stick to as few colours as you can. this means no gradients, no fades and no shadows. 2 to 4 colours is best.

ur gf lives in Brissy? if she's white, I'm sorry if I slept with her. On the upside stay a weekend in somwhere like toorak. go for breakfast at a cafe, have brunch. take her shopping. go for dinner. go for late night gelati on lygon. take her to a chocolate cafe like Brunetti's or Max Brennar oe Koko Blak. you don't get any of that shit up here in Brisbane. fucking shops close at like 5pm here, and the cafes n restaurants close at 10pm. They have no culture like melb, so spoil her with it.

buy it and swap an RB30ET into it. it'll be hektik like a VL without the gayness of owning one.
-
That's a stock standard ghetto spec R33... for shits and giggles you can even swap a RB30E holden cover onto it, so you give true blue skyline drivers heart attacks when you open the bonnet. The reason most of you guys have R33 GTS25's is because the R33 GTS's come with RB20E engines. Its VIN code is HR33, wheras an RB25DE R33 has ER33.

Are Imports Such As Skyline/supra's Unreliable?
funkymonkey replied to Fat-magz's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
here's an accident between a Nissan and a Ford ute/truck/whatever-the-fuck in the US... -
So then as far as the public or any other SAUer or anyone not in the know will think that there's a: 350GT club 300GT club 250GT club and soon a 370GT club? Pick one name, make a logo for it, wear it on your cars and I'll add the club name to the forum section. Unity in numbers, in the least it'll look a lil more professional than 4 different stickers.
