  1. Problem isn't the quality of the food, its the proximity of good food places to each other, like if you wanna decide between indian, chinese, mexican, italian or a pub meal you shouldn't have to drive 10-20km's between em. Besides... you love us, we bring snootyness and over inflated ego's to your otherwise laid back society. Anyways... so who wants to meet up for a dirty shnitty?
  2. aesthetics are debatable, what looks good to you may not look good to someone else. that said... http://www.toyo.com.au/PCRPDFs/Proxes%20T1R.pdf just as an example, 235/40/18's are rated for use on up to 9.5" wheels, so I doubt another 0.5" is gong to seriously compromise much. Insurance is voided by having a 18" wheel in the first place. Remember ADR's specify that your wheel needs to be no more than 1" more than the largest factory supplied wheel. So the biggest wheel you can fit on the car is 17" max. The size of the tyre I'd argue is somewhat irrelevant in the grand scheme of things if the insurance co was out to void your claim. Whenever this topic comes up there's always people who don't get why others would do it... I suppose it would be like trying to explain rock and roll to the folks back in the day.
  3. mad experts at everything with wheels yo.
  4. there's some nissan datsun club annual thing goin on apparently. funny thing about brisbane is that if there's a long weekend everyone pisses off and goes to the coast or somewhere that's not brisbane.
  5. hardtune's got that ish locked down bro!
  6. I'm running 225/40/18's on my 9.5's now not dangerous at all as long as you pick a tyre with a well reinforced sidewall. Plus its the only way I can tuck my wheels under the rolled guards. Dean, take it over to Driftline in campbellfield, one of the guys there should be able to stretch them on (although, 245's aren't really that much of a stretch, we usually do 235/40/18's... they tend to be closer to the overall rolling diameter of a skyline wheel so it doesn't put your speedo out, plus the tyres are cheaper to buy). Usually its the bicycle tyre method we use, makes for a lot of fun and shenanigans too when its done. That said, unless you're riding dirty (ie you need to tuck tyres under guards), you should just fit something that fits under the guard and is easier to put on.
  7. have you been over to NS lately?
  8. any excuse to get over there and find your self a bride eh noel?
  9. why are u doing situps in front of your car?
  10. inner west sayyeed nigs 4 lyf (who occasionally front at korean restaurants in sunnybank hills).
  11. oh and if you've just moved up from the southern states... how good is it that these guys have hot n spicy KFC every day of the frikkin year... I thought I had died and gone to heaven when i found out for the first time.
  12. local dealerships import cars under the same rules as private importers, which means prices are more competitive, etc. basically they have auctions at the wharves when the cars land, and everyone takes part, dealerships, secondhand car yards and private punters. its an awesome system. SEVS has nothing on it.
  13. I've just moved to brissy recently too, and I've generally found that anyone who grows up in Brisbane, knows very little about Brisbane other than their own locality. Anyways, if you want some awesome chicken burgers you wanna go to the Pavilion in the West End. Absolutely epic burgers. In fact. I think I might go get some from there this week. If you want a good schnitty, then hit up Beachhouse bar n grill (http://www.beachhousebargrill.com). I've been to the one in Chermside, but I'd guess the one in the city's got the same sized portions. If you want a cheap filling shnit then you'd probably wanna go for a pub meal or an RSL or something.
  14. NZ has a cutoff on the age of the car you can import though, think it was 10 years. Also they have no domestic car market... hence the free for all import laws. Lots of small nations without national manufacturers are similar (eg: Sri Lanka, Singapore, Cyprus, Hong Kong etc). Think he means spares off wrecks that the cars that are already here will inevitably become.
  15. Ended up getting 215/40/18's on the front 8.5J wheels, and 225/40/18's on the rear 9.5J wheels. just gotta roll the guards (next saturday morning) to tuck the wheels in and the cef's gonna be riding dirty.
  16. might be putting together a local pizza meet this thursday or something. Stay tuned, will PM people who posted up in this thread more info once confirmed. I see a yellow R34 GTt parked on High St everyday I go to work. Wonder who that is. Also, where's all the St Lucia guys I see around at UQ?

wait till you have sex while driving a GTR... best. fuck. ever.
  18. sometimes if your indicators flash too quickly, the cops can think you have an indicator out, and pull you over to warn you. Happens quite frequently when you change to LED indicators without the right wattage or resistance.
  19. is it a mod chip or a flashed firmware on the DVD drive? Does it still work on XBox Live?

anyone who paints an original Nur in Millenium jade in any other colour than the original Millenium jade ought to have the car taken off them and a stern talking to from their mother. There's a reason its a collector's edition... respray it and you'll instantly lose about 20-30k, cos then its just another 34 GTR with a respray and factory leather interior (about 50K on the market these days). Mod the mechanicals, tune it up, ADD to the car (east bear skirt kit etc in black looks hawt on millenium jade) but don't take away from it.
  21. cheapest best bang for buck is gonna be an SR20 S13 Silvia. Cheap to fix Cheap parts Cheap panels can fit lotsa skyline parts and newer silvia parts for better performance. plus you won't be haggling against guys wanting 180sx's to put strawberry kits on to make into another show pony / weekend drifter. S13's a cheap and nasty, and they may give you Hep C, but goddamn that burn is worth the ride. buy it, beat it, fix it, beat it some more.
  22. yes. according to the RAWS books from 2008 Australia complied roughly 36 skylines a month. that's a new skyline on the street a day... kinda. That's not including 15yr bombs, the 100 R32's sold locally, private imports and race imports.
  23. i just got the interwebs back at my new place, so I can sit down to work on the site again. it will be epic (well it better be, I've been promising a new look for only 4 years).
