  1. try Fulcrum... they reco Teins and Bilsteins for the trade, they might know affiliates who can do Apexi's.
  2. Thanks for the reminder mate think a visit's long overdue. Might try and pop in on the weekend sometime, I'll call ahead to double check. Hehe, I doubt you'd be up for the 10pm late night bubble tea runs I had in mind with this little thread tho.
  3. One of the guys in Canada (eh?) did this to his S14. not what you're thinkin of?
  4. Going by the quality of Viva Garage moulds from experience, it will fit a Combi Van better than an R32. If these are japanese export stuff, or even NZ made stuff, they'd be way better quality than Viva.
  5. So I get bored easily, and I dunno anyone local. Back home in Melb we used to have a little posse of SAU'ers, all around the same age and mentality... mostly students at Uni, with some regular sports cars. We meet up once a fortnight or week for a small cruise, grab some dinner, work on each others cars, go to the movies or play poker etc. Very social and nothing too car orientated, no attitudes and no egos. Anyways, me and a mate do this up here as well in Brissy, and there's buttloads of imports we see around, but not many seem active. we were thinking of trying to get more people into this little group... so... If you're local, post up, and I'll try and organise a little meet up that's local.
  6. Silver S1 going down Anne St of Saturday Night in Brissy. Was givin it some from light to light. Kept up in my old man's Ceffy
  7. Drove my car from Dandenong to Brisbane in 22 hours. About the same distance from Thommo to Sunshine Coast. Cost about $300 in petrol, and about $50 in No-Dozes and bottles of red bull. Man up. When I rang around for a quote, the best I could find was $1100 by rail, so $1000 sounds about right. See if you can get a car carrier to take it up on a return trip from Brisbane. When I bought my AE86 from Nerang in the Gold Coast, I paid $300 to have it trucked down on a returning car carrier to Melb. Money goes into the truckies pocket, which makes the return trip somewhat more profitable. That said, god knows how those carriers are doin with the slow sales of new cars.
  8. Silver Stagea on Ann St at about 3AM. Gave it a squirt... or two
  9. You don't happen to work for Transfield or one of its subsidiaries do ya?
  10. +1 Mine's VIC rego'd too... jsut spends most of its time interstate
  11. http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/p/olin-blu-r...r-7-1-hd-audio/ $229 plus delivery.
  12. paying off my credit card debt, and be debt free! w00t.
  13. yeah the ash tray one gets em all the time. there's a few clips to hold in the surround. once that's off there's 4 or 6 screws holding in the bracket.
  14. Ash, make sure you allow some cost for delivery too. Should be about $20 from memory in bulk.
  15. fuck this... IBTL! lol AFAIK "the arrivals" was distributed on youtube, so downloading a terrent of it would be legal too, seeing as it was openly distributed to start with? PS: link to a torrent is actually not illegal as the contents of the torrent file that is being linked to are in no way copyrighted. But you know, lets fun super conservative japan go!
  16. If you don't have tyre marks on your rear quarters, then you're not trying hard enough. On a more serious note... I've found grippy tyres better for drifting (provided you have enough power to spin them in the first place) as you can correct and control far easier... so I wouldn't just get some hard compound tyre. As for tyre wear, I've found Falken Azenis to be the best personally... they don't break up in chunks, are still grippy when hot etc... but they do wear out pretty quick compared to the falken fk-451 or fk-452. Yokohama AVS (think they're E100's or something) are pretty good too, they have reinforced sidewalls (so no sidewall bubbling from repeat runs) and stand up to heat better than most others. Altho it does break up in chunks. Most of the competition cars the workshop prepared used Toyo Proxes T1S'. I don't really rate them too well cos they wear out too quick. But when you've got a limitless sponsor supply of tyres as the drivers of the cars do, I suppose that doesn't matter. So in summary, i'd go: Flaken FK 451's over Falken Azenis over Yokohama AVS. Splash out on T1-S if you have money to burn. I'm about to try out a Kumho KU17 and KU31 combo soon hopefully, so we'll see how we go with that, never tried Kumho's before.
  17. yeah my workloads actually increased since all this and we've been conducting business as usual. had one layoff but that's cos the guy was a bad employee, not cos of a crisis. We've been taking on more international contracts though, and most of our clients are health sector or natural resource sector based... both of which are pretty safe in times of economic downturn. What sucks is that employers and HR dept's automatically assume cos one sector of IT is being screwed over by this "recession" it means that we all have to. I intended to move back to melb, but cos of this attitude by employers across the board, its no longer enticing enough to come back. On average the conditions of employment used to be negotiated to favour us, now they favour the employer. Fuck em... I'll just sit this one out till they decide there's an urgent need and I'll screw em over with demands.
  18. couldn't say... people pay us exhorbitant money to hand make all the ones we do at work As for software i use to make em: Illustrator, Photoshop, Eclipse (and WAMP for testing)... that's about it. Eclipse handles php, smarty, html, java, javascript, stylesheets etc, so its pretty versatile. try templatemonster if you want some premade ones to tweak to taste.
  19. free bump. Just picked up a couple of spacers from jez. Sweet car too.
  20. I see they cheated blending in the front and back by going GT style rear fender vents at the base of the A pillar. I dunno, the old Masa WGC34 with R34 conversion was much more refined and thought out. As cool as the rear flaring is on this car, its been done before, and the front just looks like a rushed job. I'll wait for a Masa or Dear Motorsports version... it'll be much more epic. Anyways, Some comments on the Kid's Heart "Brog"... http://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/356177/blog/ Kudos for the effort and idea though.
  21. Spotted a gold r34 gtt going past toowong village on Saturday. Also spotted red r34 gtt pulled up about 30 mins ago at an RBT in indooroopilly. Looked like the copper was givin him some grief.
  22. oh yeah, didn't pick it before... maybe its just a modernised version of this:
