  1. well from the looks of it, there's a clear vinyl over the whole car, which was then texta'd over, so as not to ruin the original paint.
  2. off the top of my head, you'll need to supply structural integrity test results (side intrusion, frontal impact etc), as well as provide evidence that it complies to the new emissions regulations (keeping in mind japan's still a bit behind on this area, hence their cars being delivered with higher power outputs than overseas). gathering collision data for an R35 will be fun. not many written off cars you can use a good side of to collect data, and I'd assume Nissan's not too keen on supplying the data either.
  3. xenons tend to flare a lot more than regular halogens, so that means when you're going up a hill or down a slope, you can potentially blind oncoming drivers and the driver in front of you... you'll have noticed this when driving around and some cars with xenons seem to have their high beams on when goin over bumps, or the headlights change colours. A self levelling xenon stays relatively in the same position regardless of the angle of the car, avoiding those issues. ADR's state that unless a xenon is self levelling it has to be retrofitted with halogens, and ADR's apply nationwide.
  4. hmmm US based proxy server? what? oh never mind me.
  5. keep it in ya pants guys. welcome to the forum. odd, I sold my 93 GTS to a girl in the GC... the car you're looking at, isn't gold by any chance is it?
  6. I think it looks sophisticated... very euro style... twin canons look very japanese and race car like.
  7. gah who dug this thread up... saw it n went "what? AGAIN?"
  8. compliancers usually give you the "option" of taking your xenon's back, or making the conversion reversible... what you do after that is totally up to you and out of their control. but as part of national compliancing rules, most japanese xenons are removed as they don't meet the regulations (self levelling and cleaning). bad luck canary, but everything the copper got you for is legit. DVD player you could argue is for GPS, but you had to have a map on your screen, not MTV's latest hits. When switched to DVD mode it should have been off unless the handbrake was up.
  9. they still light up to read "HOMO" though.
  10. yeah I did, class of 98.
  11. Item:R32 Factory Option Car Cover Age:14 Years Condition:Relatively unused, no holes, all straps and buckles in good condition, could do with a light wash Price:$150 ono To Fit: Supplied by Nissan for R32 coupe's but could fit an R33 as well from the looks of it Comments:Genuine Nissan factory option part, pretty hard to come by. Item:R32 GTR Factory Option Rear Strut Brace Age:14 years Condition:Stickers on brace starting to fade, but still legible, strut has never been in an accident, so is structurally sound. Price:$150 ono To Fit: Should fit any R32 coupe (had it on my GTS after the GTR). Never tried on a 4 door, so not sure if it'll fit. Comments:Another factory genuine item, not a $40 cheap chinese POS that'll probably buckle if you drop it. Location:Melbourne Contact:via PM or by posting in this thread Pics soon.
  12. sif not cruise down to melb if you're at teh wang
  13. lol i'm more of a blind man in an art gallery when it comes to japanese.
  14. you're most probably right, I'm just using a half arsed understanding of japanese and guesswork inbetween. Actually what you posted makes sense... moreso than what I posted.
  15. btw the blue sticker says something about "at time of storage" then the km's and the name of the person who did the entry. I'm assuming the two lines below it will be "at time of release" and the date, km's and the name of the person who does that entry. dunno if that's a service sticker... sounds like a storage facility sticker.
  16. are you coming alone or other NSW whores comin with u?
  17. i think its a factory sticker that comes on the car, i'm sure mine's got it somewhere. just one of those precaution stickers.
  18. the sticker in the bottom attachment reads something like: Caution when repainting The paint in the car uses fluorine, so please be sure that you have clearance to handle fluoro chemicals when working on the pant. If you are unsure then please contact your local customer service branch.
  19. ahh fair enough, in that case there'd be no alarm bells ringing, he's just doing what's right by you.that said... the 250GT sedan sucks... driving one of those reminded me of driving a very heavy IS200. if you're gonna own a v35 sedan it has to be a 3.5L. There's literally no point in owning a 2.5L other than for the image and fuel econommy, and the image that a V35 sedan gives off isn't spectacular to start with... an R34 sedan would be better in that respect. Which leaves fuel economy, where the R34 and V35 would be pretty even. The only thing the V35 has going for it is being a newer car, and having a better/roomier interior.
  20. if you can get a V35 sedan in a 350 GT-8 or 350 GT in manual, i'd pick that hands down over an R34 GT. If it's just a 250 GT, then I'd pick the R34 over it. If any dealer starts bad mouthing or talking badly about a car on their yard, alarm bells would go off in my head... just because the k's on a car aren't legit, it doesn't make it a bad car, usually you'll find the k's are wond back to match the condition of the car (so it looks legit). Sounds to me like this dealer's trying to push the worse car onto you, once you're out the door, wait for the next sucker to come along to look at the other R34, and I can guarantee they won't mention it has wound back k's.
  21. bumper black? comes in a can... costs about $5 - $7. gives it the rough texture and aaaanyone can paint it without messing it up. that's what we used on our plastic GTR lip.
  22. i was thinkin of bidding on the 10th anniversary ceffy key, grinding the surface back and engraving "RB20 powah" or some shit on it. cbf with the effort tho. asked my old man if he wanted it for his ceffy and he had a whinge about how the handle would get hot in the sun and he'd want a plastic cover over the metal...
  23. Not including the cars I've bought cheap to resell: 1984 Subaru Sherpa 1993 Toyota Corolla 1991 Toyota Sera 1992 Nissan 180SX (bought it in 1999, crashed it in 2000 and converted it to S15 front... back then only Bomex made conversion parts) 1993 Nissan R32 GTS 1983 Toyota AE86 1990 Nissan Cefiro (Still got it, dad drives it now) 1991 Nissan R32 GTS4 (Still got it, daily driver) 1989 Nissan R32 GTSt 1990 Nissan R32 GTR 1993 R33 GTSt 1999 Nissan Silvia S15 1994 Nissan Silvia S14 (Still got it, for sale) lol I'm sure there's more to come. I'm sure one day I'll be able to say I've owned the entire spec range in the R32... only GTE, GXi and GTS25 to go.
