well if you plan to get canaried then you shouldn't get adjustable coilovers as they're a defectable item, even if they're set to a legal ride height. to clear this you need to take the whole strut out and put standard ones in anyway. So either way you'll have to do it

They're different to an R32... Alternator Belt: 4PK860 Powersteering without Aircon: 4PK925 Powersteering with Aircon: 3PK845 Those are Gates belt codes, you might need to check if other manufacturers use the same code. Just checked... Optibelt's Alternator Belt code is 4PK858, Goodyear's is 4PK0863, Dayco's (Pirelli) is 4PK862, and Quinton Hazell's is QBR4863. Enjoy

well you're in luck, we're actually pretty good with the petrol thing... its about $1.50 per litre here for the 98 octane stuff that skylines take. Insurance should be a grand a year for someone that age in that city. After a brief stint in london I can tell you that the taxes and overheads of owning a car etc are MUCH less over here. There's no real equivalent check here. There's an RACV 100 point check, but they're a bunch of muppets with no specific knowledge of high performance cars, just day to day cars. As for accident history, there's no way to check that other than taking it to an experienced panel beater, we don't have a registry for accidents. However you can do a check for about $25 on the car's registration history, finance status, and if it requires special inspections for registration (sold as a damaged car etc).

there's already a pretty active community in the UK for skylines (you get all the models there that we do), jump on gtr.co.uk and skylineowners.com to find some locals who have one so you can go for a spin in their car with them to see if you really like em. Series 1 R33's these days are about 12,000 max, series 2's will cost you 20,000 max, and it better be real good for that price tag, as you can get R33 GTR's for about 24,000 these days. R34's are also just starting to creep under the 20,000 mark, so why not go for something newer. Car Sales is a pretty good place to start, i'd also be checking out ebay.com.au and tradingpost.com.au

I take my car to the track now and then, and I like a rigid feeling suspension... so I'm running a stiffer spring and adjustable dampening strut (street and track)... I've also lowered the car about an inch. If you know the right setting and you don't want to change it, there's no reason in the world to get adjustable coilovers (and technically a spring over a strut is a coilover, as its a spring "coil over" a strut). If you're not the type of person that needs his suspension adjusted every month for different tracks etc then there's no reason why you'd need em. I find most people do it just to keep up with the Jones'. The added benefit of staying on spring n strut setups is that its legal, adjustable coilovers are a bit tricky to make legal due to their adjustability. That said finding the suspension setup that's just right can be difficult at first, talk to a very good suspension shop and they should be able to sort you out.

BTW, I totally forgot about two very unique and important japanese built supercars, that are real supercars in the sense of exclusivity, rarity and construction/spec. The Tommy Kaira ZZ and Tommy Kaira ZZ2 and also the Toyota 2000GT only 337 made... and more expensive even now than a Porsche 911 ever was
