  1. agreed... rust is usually like an iceberg, you only see a small part of it. If I had to choose I'd go for the reco'd engive over the low kms one. Then again, what do they consider a reco? Full tear down and rebuild?
  2. Following the success of the first group buy (link to old thread) I've been asked by a lot of guys outside of melbourne for mags too, so I'm putting together a second run of HyperRev mags... and any other mags available at newsagents in japan. These are brand new and unopened. The costs are $40 per HyperRev (delivered to Melbourne) plus $7 shipping within Australia. The shipping allows for up to a couple of mags, so if you wanna order 3 or 4 it might be slightly more. Please post up which issue you want, and if you need something that's not listed please ask and I'll let you know how much it'll cost. For reference, I buy "Club Skyline", "Option", "Option2", and "Drift Tengoku" mags as well for myself. I will contact you with payment details when you post in this thread. Shipping from japan takes about 3 days via DHL (trackable) and then postage from melbourne is via Australia Post (may take more than a couple of days, depending on where you are).
  3. They do have the older HypeRev for the R32/R33 GTSt's... the newer one (Vol 89) cover V35, R34, R33 and R32 non GTR models. They are all in Japanese, but most of the brands are labelled in English, and the indexes are in english, so its not too hard to use... Prices are in Japanese Yen. Its basically a big catalogue of major aftermarket parts makers, so if you want to identify a front bumper you can just look it up, or if you want aftermarket cams you know what brands make em in the spec's you want.
  4. There's a replacement number in the thread, and the number for the Bosch ones that are "upgrades", even though there's no change in power output... and they're nice n shiny to boot.If you want a power upgrade apparently Nissan Q45/President alternators are great on a Skyline.
  5. You can come over n borrow em... I'll be putting up my great wall of japanese mags n catalogues when I get back. I don't unfortunately, but you're most welcome to plug in all the numbers from BNR32-000001 to BNR32-999999 and start a running tally
  6. I guess sri lanka is part of south east asia. I'm not chinese asian, which is what I think your boss means
  7. Its in the GT-R Magazine... Issue 49 Umm i've got the catalogues for others like the Ceffy and the silvias n stuff at home (in Syd) but I haven't gotten around to translating em.
  8. Hope this helps... haven't had time to put it into table format to make it easier to read, but: Code - Name - Manufacturer - Series 1 - Transition - Series 2 KH2 - Gunmetal Grey Metallic - BASF - Standard - Standard - Standard KG1 - Jet Silver Metallic - BASF - Standard - N/A - N/A KL0 - Spark Silver Metallic - Nippon Paint - N/A - Standard - Standard 326 - Crystal white - Nippon Paint - N/A - Standard - Standard 732 - Black Pearl Metallic - ALESCO - Standard - Standard - Standard AH3 - Red Pearl Metallic - ALESCO - Standard - Standard - Standard BL0 - Greyish Blue Pearl - BASF - N/A - Standard - Optional TH1 - Dark Blue Pearl - ALESCO - Standard - Standard - Optional DH0 - Dark Green Metallic - ALESCO - One Off - N/A - N/A The last colour was only available on a one off GTR made specifically for the head of the development team (Shizuo Watanabe) responsible for the R32, so not really sold to public, but narrowbody (non GTRs) were available in the same colour. As for the finding the code, you should be able to read it off the VIN plate, failing that plug the chassis number into Nissan FAST and it'll tell you what it rolled off the factory floor with.

  10. or better yet, buy a R32 GTS25, then when you can legally drive a turbo, keep everything you have, and change the block on your car to an RB30E block, add a turbo and wooshka!
  11. dammit... can't find my excel spread sheet. time to resort to pen and paper.
  12. yeah sorry about that guys. gonna start sending out PMs.... and... now!
  13. Also consider the FTO GPX (or GPR) or AE101 and AE111 Levins. I'd class them in the same boat as the honda type R's. The FTO has a MIVEC N/A engine which is pretty much VTEC yo, and the Toyota's have the 20V 4AGE engines. Both are good pocket rockets like the Type R's, and cost a lil less coz they're imports. Then there's R32 GTS25's (yes they exist and are make only 20hp less than a GTSt) and R33 GTS25's, R34 GT's, Supra SZ and Aristo 3.0Q's which are all slower versions of heavy cars that have faster models Great if you want the image but not the speed.
  14. I'm just about to get one of the guys in our Tokyo office to go out n get a couple of HyperRev mags to send down here. Thought I might as well find out if anyone else wanted some while I'm at it. They should cost between $40 and $50 each, including shipping to Australia, depending on how many people want them and how many we get (chuck em all into one. I should be able to get any other mag/book that's currently at the bookshop as well, so if you have anything special you need, let me know. Delivery within Aus should be about $5 for a mag (if you can't pick it up from me in Syd). These are brand new and unopened. Would appreciate an EOI so I can decide if I wanna get a parcel with a few mags etc down or just go ahead and get the ones I want for myself.
  15. they have cantonese option mags? oooo http://www.12hk.com/hk_shop.html
  16. looks like a generic no name GT wing out of china to me... 1400cm wide. Failing that a park somewhere in the world is missing a bench.
  17. or for cheap thrills you could lace your food with mace.
  18. one of the 1988 cefiro's we imported came with 12000kms or so on it. It also came with a log book that had been filled in at the same Nissan dealership every 6 months (hehe was odd, their seal changed as the Nissan logo evolved). It even came with the factory lace doileys and original purchase reciepts etc in the owner's name. Was such a bizzare car... we didn't believe it so we had a mechanic go check the car while it sat in japan, and found that it actually was hardly ever driven... So the rare ones do exist. Not necessarily, the paint flakes off as its not bonded well to the plenum from the factory. Simple heating and cooling causes it to seperate, regardless of the km's its done. Basically as the guys above stated, go by the condition of the car, don't believe the kms. If the car is in Japan, get it inspected first, if its local, then take it for a test drive from a cold start. Take the car to a mechanic who works on GTR's to have it inspected.
  19. lol yeah I'll back teh Fatz too, coz of the experience he has driving a shitbox.
  20. Poite... Anytime you need a chilli fix that'll make your sphincter glow red the following morning on its way out, let me know... my mum makes this brain popping chilli beef curry with ground cayenne peppers and green chilli seed oil. But yes, I find that most chilli food's sorta not as hot as I'd like it... I've been eatin chilli since a toddler probably, n I'm desensitised or something. like I'll ask for cayenne peppers on mexican food and the hottest sauce at nandos etc.
  21. Owned a 180sx before my first skyline... it was natural progression through the nissan sports car family tree.
  22. Created new "Cosmetic and Styling Mods" section: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...p?showforum=157 enjoy.
  23. click options just above your post, and then select "track this topic" to subscribe. In general we can buy complete R34's (well import em from japan anyways) so a lot of wreckers stock halfcuts (what you guys call "clips"). If you were after an R34 GT-t half cut I'd say it'd be easy, but most guys who get the RB26 tend to get them out of cheaper R32's and R33 GTR's.
  24. If you want to be real safe, put that igniter module anywhere where its not gonna get as warm. Half the time they fail because of heat buildup on there.
  25. someone should break it to the poor boy that the R30 was a bastard child of the C210 Skyline... which then evolved to the R31 and consequently R32.
