  1. I got it for christmas... 2004
  2. That's coz the one in the pic is a 1JZ AE86 engine bay is about the same size as the celica as well.
  3. speaking of cramming big things into little bays... also... one of the fellas locally managed to cram a landcruiser V8 under his hood, so its not that far fetched.
  4. If you're coming back to oz in 2008 you should get yourself a nice little moneymaker car (ie one that's not eligible for SEVS and is highly desirable... like an S15 Varietta for example, or an extremely modded car) and own it for a year, bring it down as a personal import, sell it, use the money and buy yourself a R33 GTSt. You can buy a lightly modded R33 GTSt for between AUD $13,000 for a 1993 and AUD $19,000 for a 1998. No doubt in 2 years time they will drop further in price. Already the focus has moved to R34's as the preferred Skyline to import (we've been getting quite a few inquiries for them and very late model R33's lately). Also you'll have already paid import fees for the car to enter the UK, and from what I know of UK export laws you don't get them back or anything, so you might as well just import one direct out of Japan instead of paying tax on an already taxed car. Our taxes and duties aren't as hefty as the UK ones either. Shipping from the UK to Australia is also a lot more than shipping from Japan to Australia. In summary, don't do it Pick one up when you get here.
  5. well that was an easy one to keep my resolution this year that's related to SAU and cars... "finish my ae86"
  6. just be glad you don't have to call one of em Datto any more.
  7. damn man... it looks fixable, dosen't look like you bent any chassis rails.
  8. oh, coz you both keep posting from the same IP.
  9. aloha... enjoy your stay dude.
  10. lol rezz you need to take deep breaths... you of all people should know rice comments from me are to be taken with a pinch of salt (hello... knight rider style SKYLINE running lights, clear indicators and impul race shifter on a... R32 GTS ). In any case I'm a fan of your car since you got it (oh how I want ragamasters now) and what you've done to it... as are many other people. Now stop being a sook, if you don't like people's comments on your tail lights, say so, and people will stop due to the respect you've earnt on this forum.
  11. lol I was gonna comment on the hobo leaning against the car, but then I didn't wanna step on any toes How coe you're getting rid of the kit currently on it... I reckon it looks quite nice. Every drift superstar and his goldfish has the Uras kit now <_<
  12. nice one geeza... you should be able to sell the rims off to AE86 fanboys and pay off the car with the profit Was the main body of the car midnight purple when you bought it?
  13. Badger and Mushroom... do it! do it!
  14. that's enough postwhoring and bickering. topic closed.
  15. you can get em locally from a fair few shops... the one that I remember off the top of my head is autojoy... retailers of fine rice goods from china. edit: they've got it on their website http://www.autojoy.com.au/product/exterior/tail_NISSAN.htm
  16. did it occur to you that they're rare because they're the slowest and oldest of the ones he listed The UK has virtually no import restrictions, and the process is a lot simpler than ours, however the end-cost of importing (taxes, duties, customs etc) is a lot more than it is to Australia, so if you're gonna import, you make sure you get a good fast car to start with. R33's and R34's also have stronger factory Nissan support in the UK as they were both sold locally (grey imports, just like the R32 GTR was sold here).
  17. if its the same Sunnybank Hills in south brissy that I'm thinking of, there's a fair few asian people living there, so I dunno about being bogan central.
  18. apparently 50% of the skylines in NSW are sitting on a set of Impuls this is the running joke.
  19. just going by your first post, the R33 GTS4 had an AWD RB25DET with gearbox, and you still have it for $2400?
  20. lol I'll get a stagea in a couple of years, right now I'm happy with a GTS4 (which is basically a 2 door stagea anyways). I dunno, its a toss up between a W35 stagea and a Y34 gloria, all depends on what stage in my life I'm at.
  21. member-ised. sorry dude, read your post and I couldn't help it, coz you didn't mention the word Stagea once, always reffered to it as "her".
  22. Aug 1991 to be exact... all R32's before then need to have them retrofitted.
  23. I'm comin up on the 5th, if you're serious I'll bring him/her up with me.
