  1. Still going down....... $150
  2. Melbourne is the same. Our roads (along with the cars and the people in them) get sucked into big holes on a regular basis. Most of the pipes running under the ground leak, and because they're so old, there's no way that they can test them to find out where the leaks are, so it's mostly a matter of waiting for a big hole to open up in the ground before anything gets done. New pipes which get laid are installed with technology which can apparently report leakages. ...dunno how that would work, but if it does, they should look at ripping up the thousands of kilometres of existing water main and replace the lot. It would fix lots of problems.... we'd have lots more water, lots more employment, and lots less smelly people.
  3. Preaching to the choir.. Type M came in manual and auto, and as you can see, the post I quoted stated that "any manual turbo 33 is type m" .. which to an uneducated reader (yes, there are a few around) would assume by that comment that the Type M was only available with a manual transmission, and (engine capacity aside) this would make the GT-R (which is manual & turbo) Type M also. I suppose I was looking for an explaination of the posters thoughts in regards to the automatic Type M's? Perhaps the comment was based on the assumption that the "M" in "Type M" means that it has a manual transmission?
  4. Taken from the above link...... The handicapping system is based on each cars time down a quarter mile. The slower the time down the quarter, the bigger the handicap.
  5. The repeats are aired on Saturday. More Info
  6. Captain Obvious would like you to know that there is a sticky thread at the top of this section which has a link to details on where you can get all the model specific info you need. So..... what about the automatic ones? (Which were also sold as Type M?) Going by the "all turbo manuals are Type M" theory, there would be no such thing as a 33 GTR.
  7. Please don't multipost threads. This is the 3rd version of this thread I've come across today. ...so this one is getting locked. If anyone wants to reply, they can reply here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=121465 or here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=121463
  8. At the risk of being called "Captain Obvious", have you tried posting this up on the E series forum? http://www.fordforums.com.au/forumdisplay.php?f=62
  9. If insurance was going on the next day, it would have been covered. (This is why they issue "cover notes") Stating that he is an ungrateful prick because he didn't give two hoots about the large sum of money that his parents forked out to buy this vehicle isn't being "harsh" or "rude", it was just a basic observation. If he cared about his parents investment, he would have insured it (3rd party at minimum), or at least made sure that it had adequate theft protection.
  10. Obviously that isn't a factor here... He couldn't afford the car. It was handed to him on a silver platter. Being an ungrateful little prick, he didn't give a second thought to protecting his parents investment, and rather than spend his own money on insurance or security, it was much more important to have a full sik set of neons. No skin of his nose..... I'm sure mummy and daddy will buy him another one.
  11. Don't bother screwing around with contacting the people who are trying to get the old folks to believe that all car enthusiasts are hoons. Instead, contact the show that the old folks watch to find out how much they're being lied to by the media. http://www.abc.net.au/mediawatch/tipoffs.htm
  12. What sort of apprenticeship are you after? There are a lot of different automotive trades.
  13. I understand the intention, but have concerns that it may be very easilly taken out of context: That little snippet by itself makes it sound as if the deaths and serious injuries have occurred at Calder.
  14. Let's try another price drop.... $160
  15. I think you'll find that most people here have already seen it.
  16. Sorry rhett, but i'm still not buying it. If the road was congested, (as you say) there would be no chance that you would have been able to go 150 (unless all the other cars which were caught in the congestion were also doing 150?) Fact is, the roads are full of dickheads. If you use the road, you're going to encounter them. I encountered several of these morons last night. It was dark, it was very wet and slippery, and i had a child in the car. I don't for an instant believe that the traffic around me would have behaved any differently if I'd been driving a different make of vehicle. If you are targeted and terrorised by someone on the road, get their plates and report it, or call police while it's happening. (Or I suppose you could always post about it on an internet forum?) As frustrating as it is, you just have to learn to compensate for the fact that regardless of how careful you are, there is always going to be some moron who wants to play games with your life. It's just unfortunate that people aren't taught this when they get their L's or P's, it's something that you have to figure out for yourself. It's just part of life. You have to teach yourself to accept it, get over it, and move on. Either that, or catch the bus.
  17. OK... you lost me there..... Why were you doing that? Victorian traffic law states that on any road of 2 lanes or more, marked at 80kph or more, you are required to keep left at all times unless overtaking. By the description given, you were loitering in their blind spot. That is terribly uncool, and very dangerous.
  18. Do you have "Games World" in qld? Our local games world has a few 34 variants.

  20. I haven't even taken it out of the box yet... I've got 2 others that I need to finish before I'm allowed to open it.
  21. Firstly. allow me to say, that moderators are not your personal secretaries. Please post threads in the appropriate section of the forum. This is a local question, and as such should be posted in your state section (where it has now been moved to) yes thats true in VIC, not sure on other states No soup for you, this is incorrect. From memory (so don't scream at me if it's wrong, I got bored with answering this question after about the 47th time it was asked) ... You can't have red or blue because it emulates/falsely misrepresents the colours used by emergency services. No white lights are to be visible from the rear of the vehicle (other than reverse lights) No red lights are to be visible at the front of the vehicle search button is up there ^
  22. It seems like a few people here are driving around with a "victim" attitude... This doesn't quite make sense.... Someone can't "cut you off" if they're behind you. What happened when you reported this to Police? (As most people would do if they had been truly scared for their life?) Tailgated you up to 150? Sounds like you were the one playing games with them, not the other way around. A vehicle travelling behind you can't force you to speed up. If you were already travelling at 100, that would indicate that you were on a freeway. Perhaps they were just trying to get you to move over so that they could pass? And this one was pretty funny too.... go familiarise yourself with the road rules. the truck had right of way. of course one car makes a difference to the truck driver, he's trying to get a job done. What did you expect? You don't just "assume right of way". You either have it, or you don't. You didn't have it, so there's no point complaining about it. YOU were the one doing the wrong thing! If the truck driver HAD clipped your vehicle, you'd be the one paying to fix it. Yeah... what a wanker.. how dare he try to get his job done while someone else wants to use the road. Very entertaining thread, keep up the good work
