Very late 1994 models had the longer crank drive (as they had basically an R33 engine in them).
-
The attesa software in the R33 updates more times per second than the R32 does, meaning it will put power to the front quicker than the R32.

Should make up a kit for people doing rebuilds, N1 oil pump with spline drive and sump baffles... get all the oil system sorted in one easy go, and the spline drive will never have any of the problems the RB normal drive has Yeah the rods will be interesting... talked to a couple of people about it (who are in the know, will fill you in later) and they have all said if I keep a sane rev limit the rods should hold it, its the rod bolts that are the weakest link... (from memory you put the ARP 2000's in mine?). Either way, I know the gearbox isnt going to last a week
-
If you plan on drifting it properly at tracks, my suggestion would be get an oil cooler asap. The engines are strong, but their downfall is oil problems (RB20/25/26). That temperature goes a little bit too high, engine will go bye bye. Not having one is fine for daily driving and giving it a squirt here and there, but if youre going to be popping off the limiter and sitting in high revs constantly its a requirement.

What Exactly Does Having Forged Pistons Do?
Amaru replied to gdogzgtr's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Apart from being able to choose what compression ratio they will give, they are generally stronger and resits heat/detonation more than your standard cast pistons. In saying that though, they are not indestructable and detonation will still kill them. -
Looks great Greg... will probably need one when I blow my engine sky high and need another rebuild (Ask Ed whats im doing with the car). For anyone that might be concerned about local made "copy"products, Greg does excellent work and has built many a tough GTR's, and always stands by his products. His sump baffles are awesome and a great price too (end of shameless free plug)

Fs- Gtr R32 Factory Midnight Blue-sold
Amaru replied to vspec2's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Have seen this car at Eds and had a quick talk with the owner, it is absolutely gorgeous and immaculate if anyone is thinking of buying one. -
They will just reissue the fine with the correct details, which they have been doing lately. Write a letter, see how far it gets you... at the very least, an extension to pay the fine, at most it will get you off. Nothing to lose really... (if you have a shitehouse driving record, I wouldnt bother though).

Woah... a GTR with a working speed alert thing, never seen one of those before... Its under the dash just under the steering wheel, black box, disconnect it and it should go away.
-
Nissan will have the sensors, as will most wreckers that have 32GTR's. They probably cost a fortune though. I guess with a torque controller you could lock it into 50/50, but you will quickly boil the fluid and stuff the clutch packs in the transfer case... dont think anyone would want to buy it when it rips a 500m burnout down the street without the front wheels driving.

Gtr R32 Vs Gt-t R34 Not Race Just Compairing
Amaru replied to scottman's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Why only spend $25k on a GTR if you have $30k availible? Use the extra $5k and you should be able to pick up a 1992/1993/1994 GTR fairly stock in good condition. You get what you pay for... Im not saying the $25k ones are bombs, but yould get a markedly better car for $30k (just as you would get even better at $35k). Despite some people who dont want to believe it, you get what you pay for. -
Yeah it does, but not to the levels of some of the more advanced ECU's you can pick up for just a little bit extra (e.g. autronic) Im in no way bagging the PFC, it is an awesome computer and I have been running one for 2 1/2 years now. I just personally think the Autronic is one step above the PFC (and, for that same reason, costs more as well)
-
Autronic SM2 is around $2000 - $2500, for what you want I wouldnt see a need to go the SM4. Has capabilities for launch control, antilag and the processing power and tuning resolution is pretty damn close to the Motec M800 and HKS Fcon V-Pro (the SM4 is alot closer, but also alot more money). Im actually debating at the moment wether to pull the PFC out of mine and go an Autronic as I have seen some really impressive things done with them (also PFC is a static map, once its set it doesnt change, Autronic is dynamic so if its a hot day it will retard ignition timing to try stave off detonation etc).
-
If you really do want to ditch the AFM's, look into Autronic. They are an awesome computer and one of the best you can buy (reasonable price too)

Wastegate Not Screaming? Lost Boost Too.
Amaru replied to AlpineFreak's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Probably popped an intercooler pipe, check to make sure they are all connected and clamps done up tightly -
Thanks for the offers, seems ib6ub9 won the contract (since I wasnt home and he called). Thanks NathR32

R34 6-speed Gearbox Into R33 Gtr
Amaru replied to 96GTRman's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Save another $5000 and you can have a helical cut OS Giken 6 speed sequential gearbox with ratios that could somewhat justify the price... -
Before you go wasting money on ABS sensors, check your tyre tread... even minimal wear will cause what you are talking about (mine does it too when the rears start to wear down a bit). Its because the rear wheels are now a different rolling diameter to the front (only slightly, but enough to make the torque guage move around when cruising and make the car jerk around a bit).
-
Have seen it done in a 1992 V8 Statesman... nfi how he did it though... he wont give up his trade secret either, just says it can be done if youve got the brains to know how

Before I pulled my car off the road, it was running 2530's with about 18psi boost, cams, power fc etc. If I flogged the guts out of it, fuel consumption would be terrible (I think my best effort was 180kms off a fullish tank, about 65 litres). If I babied it I got pretty good fuel consumption... thats why it became a weekend warrior Going the big single now, so I expect fuel consumption to go out the window even worse when im giving it a hard time.

If they dont focus on increasing profits every year, investors have no reason to stay invested in the company. If the investors pull out, guess what? The company is worth $0.00. The point of investing is to get as much money back as possible... if I invested in a company and they turned around and said "were not focusing on making a profit this year" I know id be selling straight up. Why would I want $10,000 of my money sitting in a company doing stuff all for me? Unions can be good, but in this particular case they are going to be the possible downfall of what once was the largest company in the world (pre-Microsoft). It really pisses me off when unions cant agree with the employer to a new agreement, and as a result the company closes down and the employees whinge ""wah wah im so hard done by"" not realising, ultimately, they were the oens that caused it.
