Oil Restrictors Are They On Factory N1 Engines
Amaru replied to kronic's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Where does one get the oil restrictors to suit the N1's and other Garrett Turbos? -
I have to go see a specialist about getting one, have a damaged arterial ligament. It sux arse because randomly my knee will lock up and ill fall to the ground in pain... doh! Anyways I would come tonight, but im stuck at work till 11PM... doh again!

Injectors are currently 700cc, probably need to go up in size as they will be too small. Any other suggestions on pumping the fuel around for this power level? Bits and pieces I have to work with are: standard fuel rail, bosch 040, two bosch 044's, surge tank, hks twin entry fuel rail, standard fpr, sard fpr (the big RJ one).
-
Hi, Thats why I am asking, as im not sure how it works. Currently there is the standard GTR pump in tank lifting to a surge tank, with a single 044 from the surge tank to the standard fuel rail. Have since bought a HKS dual entry fuel rail and some pumps, my thinking was the 040 in tank pumping to the surge tank and the twin 044's pumping from the surge tank. Just not quite sure how they connect up to the fuel rail... do you join the two feeds together then split them again and feed it in to each end of the rail, do you keep them seperate from the 044's into each end of the rail? Just trying to learn a bit, as for actual fitting, thats what I am paying the mechanic for

Just a curiosity question (would ask mechanic but he is on holidays)... If I am fitting a dual entry fuel rail, and the pump setup includes a Bosch 040 in tank and two external 044's, how are they plumbed up to the rail? One line running from each 044 to each end of the fuel rail and relief from the middle? Are there any better or alternative ways of doing this? Thanks

Well recently got back from holidays up in your pretty state and saw a few skylines around the place. Maroon R32 GTR near Broadbeach last Wednesday, awesome looking R34 GT-T in the Pacific Fair carpark on Friday (number plates RIDE M3) and a maroon aus delivered R32 GTR heading towards Brisbane airport on Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile on a side note, how many f@#king people in Broadbeach own BMW's? I couldnt get away from them.

R34 GTR Neo? None of the GTR's were Neo engines. -
Hey Julian, Good to see you made it on to the boards. You need to come out one Friday night so everyone can see it in person... one word, PHAT! Nik

I assume controlling it will be something like the silver Stagea a few minutes into this video clip http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8...3&q=Skyline+GTR -
Spotted a pretty bayside blue R34 GTR VSpec lurking in one of the Woden Plaza carparks about 1PM.

As Terminal said, you can no longer come into the ACT and buy fireworks. 99% of the shops are shut for most of the year anyway. The only weekend it is easy to buy them, is the queens bday long weekend. Any other time of the year, you need a permit.

What Five Cars Would You Want In Your Garage?
Amaru replied to geno8r's topic in General Automotive Discussion
1. Nissan Skyline R34 GTR V-Spec II Nur 2. Ferrari 512TR -> http://images.carsales.com.au/private/798040.jpg 3. Porsche GT3 4. Caddilac Escalade as cruiser and tow car 5. Smart TwoFour with black body and pink panels, with eyelashes painted above the headlights. Great for fuel economy and I can phag it up in style -
Yes I have, was on an imported car with Blitz technospeed wheels. The engineer had issued a certificate saying it was safe etc ok. Still didnt change the fact the wheels were more than 15% larger in rolling diameter than factory, which meant they were not ADR compliant, and hence rejected.
-
As Abo Bob said, Pro Engines have built many a tough RB26's. Theyre down near Canberra though (Queanbeyan)
-
I agree with Bass Junky, looks like the turbo that hangs off the sides of our CAT gensets (I think she redlines at 2200rpm )
-
No they dont. Police can issue a defect notice for a stock standard car if they wish, its your job to take it to Dickson and get it cleared. And on that note, Dickson can also reject engineer certificates if they still believe the car does not meet ADR's. And MYSHY, all 15 year imports have to be engineered to get rego. Cars that came in under a compliancing scheme like mine and sinista's dont have to have engineering certificates for registration (thats what the compliance plate is for).
-
Anything can be engineered that is different from factory, as long as it meets or exceeds the Australian Design Rules. Talk to an engineer about what you want to do, and see what they say.

Have had a 300+kw at the wheels GTR since I was 19 (and no it wasnt mummy and daddy paying for it, i caught the bus until I was 19 saving money for one) and havnt pranged it yet. Id like to put it down to common sense, since it would be very easy to crash it squeezing the throttle just a bit too much around a corner. Parents were dead against it when I was looking at them, but it was my money and my decision, not theirs. Am now 22, insurance loves me (because I have had it for over 2 1/2 years without a claim), only one speeding fine in it (90km/h in an 80 zone) and lam loving it. If you have self control, get the Skyline. If you dont and are likely to show its fully sikness to your mate-ahs then dont get one because you will crash it.

Radiators take a long time to fit

That wasnt run on pump fuel was it? The cars been comprehensively stripped too hasnt it? So it doesnt really have anything to do with what Blitz is after... I currently have HKS 2530's on mine and they have been awesome turbos, but to make those numbers you really do have to flog the shit out of them. The T04Z will make the alot easier at the end of the day (albeit though, probably a bit laggier).
-
Have a mitsubishi belt on mine at the moment, just gone 20,000kms old and it looks like rat shit... must be a common problem. Got a brand new HKS one sitting in is box waiting to go on.
-
Have seen a few TA45S on some GTR's... theyre not -too- bad, but you can get better turbos now that make the same power and are -alot- more responsive.

Where to get Skyline Serviced
Amaru replied to r33skylinegtst's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Ed at Integra could do it... hes become quite accustomed to pulling gearboxes from GTR's, I dont think the Stagea will be much different... if he swears at you though dont take it to heart, its a prick of a job -
Steve, If the car you are referring too was sold in its last incarnation painted red, when it left Eds it was running well in excess of 200kw... its a shame the owner couldnt stop playing with it and screwing it up every time.

If its making a knocking noise as the OP said (pistons knocking) id be pretty sure its 99.9% spun bearings, which as everyone else has said, happens all too often with the cheap gtr's. SXR - Whats included in a basic rebuild? Does it include new pumps (with a long nosed crank for the oil pump, or a crank collar), harmonics (belts, tensioners etc), quick head service while its apart because it will probably need it?
