As much as I dont wish to say this, try Evo Motorsports in Fyshwick, Fast and Furious in Fyshwick, Skyline Performance in Mitchell or Trojan Imports also in Mitchell. Im sure if they dont have any, they can reccomend someone that can. Look them up in www.whitepages.com.au

Autobarn/Autopro only go up to 3" I need 3.5".
-
The plug is just a temperature sensor which will illuminate a light on your dashboard when the cat is getting "too hot". Shouldnt make a difference to the performance of the car.
-
Everywhere just shook their head "nah nothing like that"... got a few more places to try, and ive found the old gaskets so thats a plus, i can take them in with me instead of a crappy little drawing.
-
I couldnt find the old gaskets that came with the exhaust, and no-where had anything a similar size. The exhaust shop in question wont sell me the gaskets either because they know ill just run off and put it on myself But I think I might have sourced some a similar size, and if so, its off to deans on the weekend

DAN00H just sent you a PM.

Tried to get my new exhaust fitted today, its a Veilside 3.5" system with no cat, just the front pipes, two small resonaters then muffler, but the exhaust shop wouldnt go for it, doh! Theyre reasoning was it would belch flames out the back (they wernt concerned about epa) but they wouldnt listen to me when I said it already belches flames out the back

Following weekend it is... actually yeah the following weekend would be better for me as im broke as a joke after getting new exhaust installed :S

Where To Buy R33 GTR - Heavily Modified
Amaru replied to IMACUL8's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Autostyle in Sydney have a genuine Top Secret R33 customer car... its heavily modified but its also got a hefty price tag, which you can expect for the car it is. Speak to Autostyle they mainly deal in exclusive/high performance cars and im sure could source you one. -
A thought...a 32 GTR plus cash for my 33 GTR
Amaru replied to ricknismo's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Thats what you can do in the R32 GTR and R33 GTR non-vspec. He has a v-spec which to my knowledge requires removal of the front drive shafts. -
Want to do something this weekend, preferrably Saturday? Any ideas on where we can go to etc?

I think the problem alot of people have/had was GTR badges on a non GTR...

Silver R33 GTST with NSW plates that I saw down Drakeford Drive in Tuggeranong on Sunday night, and saw i again yesterday at the round-a-bout near Lanyon Shops at like 5:30 in the afternoon... I was in the white r32 gtr
-
Could be leaking injectors, i have the same problem at the moment in my rb26 and its attributed to leaky injectors. EDIT: And I just read your post in full and saw the part where you said except injectors... my bad
-
A leak down test is similar to a compression test, but instead of telling you how much pressure is in a cylinder, it tells you how much pressure is leaking from a cylinder. Any more than around 25 - 30% leakage is a big problem.

Well im driving mine day to day at the moment (hopefully this is the last week, I hate putting km's on it ) at it doesnt fare too bad... because of the clutch in mine (5 puck brass button), once it heats up it starts to become a bit of a pig to drive but not too bad. I can cruise around and change at 3000rpm and keep off boost, but the thing still chews a tank per 350km (when i give it 50/50 normal driving and hard driving i get 280 - 300km). I wouldnt consider it practical for daily driving, but it can be done.

Not a silly question, when my engine was being rebuilt, as it was being put back in I was like "oh no, its going to have reset back to defaults". But no, it has a ROM which stores the settings... my power fc was disconnected for 3 months and had still retained them all. Hope this helps

A blown turbo seal would not prevent the car from starting. What colour was the exhaust smoke? The head gasket couldve blown and filled with coolant (the organic head gaskets Nissan put on from the factory are quite worn out after 15 years of hard driving) or you couldve done some more serious internal damage. I assume this is a 15 year old import? If so keep in mind the car would have sat on the docks for quite some time (several months), the fuel would have gone stale and combined with our high temperatures, its not a good combination. Id take it to a reputable mechanic and get a compression and leak down test and go from there.
-
Does anyone know how much it costs to get in and what time it starts each week? Me and some friends are looking at coming up one wednesday night from Canberra to hopefully do a few runs/watch.
-
So anyone down for a cruise this weekend? Meet up at Queanbeyan Caltex near supercheap as per normal then decide where to go?? And Contempt, were you at Tuggeranong supercheap on Sunday around 1:00 in the afternoon? Saw a damn nice black 350Z with two youngish guys in it, so assuming it was you

Do we wanna talk about things blowing do we? :bahaha: Although on that note I probably should shutup now

Well it depends on the tuner and how competent he is as to wether your car goes bang or not. Generally I advise whoevers tuning my car to not take it above 90% of its potential to leave a 10% "leeway" as being a bit down on power is cheaper than rebuilding an engine (hell ive already had to do it once already). But that said, if the tuner is competent and careful you shouldnt have too many problems. The HKS Step 1 units are 8.7mm lift and the Jun stage 1 cams are 9.7mm and 10.5mm lift. Youd be pushing it getting the Jun ones in, but they should just fit from what i understand. The Tomei poncams are nice as well. I dont think theres anyway to describe how much these effect the car as opposed to driving without them. And Merli, I saw your car at Drag Combat, I came up with Aurora, he had the black S2 R33 GTST that was parked next to you from Canberra. All I have to say is damn -
Hey Mark, the Trueno sux jk Looks like it came out good

1. The Nismo fuel pump is a direct bolt in replacement and should suffice for your power requirements. The Bosch pumps require running of new power cables, as the stock ones arnt up to the job (the Bosch pump draws continuous high amounts of current). Youd be best talking to your tuner about this one and see what he advises as the best option. 2. As Merli suggested, a generic oil cooler will be transferrable between models. You can also get small oil coolers that sit in the grill of the car, I believe you would be able to transfer this between models without too much of a hassle 3. The Greddy cooler is an excellent cooler. You could go for something a bit smaller like the HKS Type R which is 600 x 300 x 100 and should do the job for the power levels you are after. Its also from what I understand quite a bit easier to fit. 4. The Cusco ones are good, the Cusco copys from Autobarn are nasty. I was advised to make sure whatever catchcan I got had baffles in it (ala steel wool as Merli said), so id advise the same to you. 5. Despite HKS being a "direct bolt on" and should be a straight fit even onto stock pipes, it never seems to work out this way (I got HKS GT2530's and attempted to mount them on stock dump pipes, they needed slight modification to fit). Id go with the HKS ones as they're the guaranteed to fit straight up, and are widely used and a proven product. 6. Camshafts - yes this wasnt on the list, but are you planning on doing something in this area? I have been in a few cars running N1 and 2530 turbos on stock camshafts, then they fit a set of 256 degree in/out camshafts and it makes them absolutely wild. Arguably one of the best bang for your buck modifications you can do when youre talking about these power levels. You could even go 264/272 degree ones and sacrifice a bit of low end for even more top end power. You can pickup a set of HKS ones for under $1000 if you shop around, or a Jun kit with the camshafts and heavy duty valve springs for around the $1200 mark. Make sure you get the Step 1's though, as the bigger ones wont fit unless you machine the head out a bit -
Just as a point of interest, after all you guys left, GTR700 came back and managed to belt out an 8.4
