Thanks for the feed backs, always happy to help and the power curve looks great. For 200rwkws by 4000RPM, the SS1PU would do it pretty well, or the 21U high flow can also do that assume you run enough boost at it.

Some of the JJR ones, and also Blitz. For this reason I've installed a blitz return flow on my current R34 and curious to see what it does. I've noticed some of the blitz coolers has very narrow tube, mine doesn't, but it has very tightly packed fins inside those tubes. I've done a test based on 600x300x68mm and 600x300x100mm coolers. There are no differences in response, while the IT was 10 degrees less with the 100mm, that lead to 10kws gain top end. For a cooler setup that what I recommend.

Have a feel of shaft play, there should be about 1mm side to side and nothing in / out. If that is the case check for lose bits thats bolted to the turbo. Noticed you are in Melbourne, Call and drop by for a quick inspection when you are free.

Rb25 Turbo Upgrade, All Dyno Results
hypergear replied to Nacho Vidal's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
RS4 Stagea RB25DET NEO unopened engine. - Healtech ECU - 1000CC ID injectors - Factory cams and cam gears. - HyperGear ATR45SAT turbo - Havoc Fabrication 3 inches turbo back exhaust - Walbro 470L/H Fuel pump - 4 inches Havoc metal induction pipe - Split fire coil packs - Turbo smart 44mm external gate from factory exhaust manifold. - E85 fuel 400rwkws @ 24psi (red) V older turbo (green) -
make no differences. the one with .60 housing is easier to install, black housings with 4 inche inlets are .70. Preload your actuator by a further 5mms, go for a drive and keep an eye on the boost gauge to see if that have made any changes.

^^^ I think you will need to preload the actuator alot more then where it currently is. Was this SS2 built with a black .70 comp housing or a smaller .60 comp housing?

Garrett Gt/gtx3076r Direct Bolt On For R34 Gtt?
hypergear replied to Nismo34R's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
^^ Using this turbine housing shown on photo above. The GT3076 CHRA will be straggling to perform any thing 250rwkws or above. Which our standard high flow service can easily out perform, and cost you less then half of their listed price. -
Some results sent in. This is a ATR45 SAT version on an Rb25det Neo motored Stagea, Dyno dynamic roller dyno shoot out mod. Final result of 400awkws (red) on a 36 degrees day, against a turbocharger that was previously installed. Unopoened engine, factory cams and cam gears. Usual mods and E85 fuel. Good example of an externally gated setup out of factory exhaust manifold.

The ATR28SS15 would be a perfect turbo for your application. I didn't look into some thing even smaller as it doesn't make that much of a difference in response but did loses quite a lot of power. I've handed drawings of two more sets wheels to be engineered for the GTR. for main time, I've picked up a members R34. Its got 170,000KMs on the clock, average condition, with heaps of ice and minor engine mods done by a 20 year enthusiastic. probably due to the mileage, this engine feels pretty rough compare to my other two skylines. This might be affecting performance on the dyno. Condition of this car probably represents the majority of R34s on roads today. I will be installing commonly seen mods including a Blitz return flows cooler kit. the goal would be around the 330rwkws mark on Pump fuel, internally gated bolton. Will upload dates as project moves along.

Building An Rb26 For Response....
hypergear replied to Antimatter's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I'm uploading my result here. This is a newly developed SAT ATR45 turbocharger. The engine is fully stock, unopened. Using factory cams, and factory cam gears. This is a single turbo, externally gated on E85 fuel. It is pretty good to drive on road. Power n Response against factory twins: -
few bits to check on: 3inches or bigger Metal induction pipe with Pod filter. Check pressure drop across intercooler 3inches or larger turbo back exhaust, all flanges has to be in 3inches, Cat has to be in 100 cell, no cat gives the best result. Tension up the actuator rod. Further update. This is the ATR45 SAT version for RB26, I've trailed the ball bearing version, and it have made a very slight increase in response. I'm hitting the MAP limit for the Haltech ecu, will be installing an 3 bars maps sensor shortly. Result against Standard Bush bearing model: Also running against my factory twins:
-
Check pressure drop across the cooler. I see this happens with certain model of blitz coolers. Also pre-load the actuator abit more. Green is before cooler and the rest is after.

R34 Gtr Garrett -5 Turbo Lag, Need Advise
hypergear replied to baicai's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
-5s are very laggy turbos for RB26. and in lot of cases, the standard "T1.5" turbine manifold gets bored out, which adds more lag. if you are using adjustable cam gears, dial +5 on the inlet and leave 0 on exhaust. That will advance response by roughly 300RPM. Or get HKS V cams with active VCT cam set, that knocks out about 700RPM of lag. Alternatively get -9s or check out our latest single development on our thread. -
The 53mm GTRS turbines don't work with RB25det engines very well. The SAT stands for Special application turbocharger. This one is made only for Rb26 and Rb25 turbo engines working with large external gate setups.
-
Note how the 20G falls over on top end. This is from our re-worked version: SL20.5 mentioned earlier. It is made to have the same down low torque as the 20G, while holding the power band up top. Running against Kando's TD06L2-20G on a standard RB25det motor, Same response, more power with much wider power band. Nothing is changed apart from the turbocharger. Price difference is within $100 to listed kando item.

Assume turbine housing in T3x that suits factory dump pipe. It also need water and oil lines. induction pipe and silicon hose connect to factory cooler piping.

Appears that you looking for results for this type of application. and I actually found one from few years back. This is during the evaluation and development of ATR43SS1PU. Dyno result shown 2535's 53mm turbine in .64 rear working with a older version of SS'2 billet compressor wheel, heat soaks with timing deducted avoiding detonation: for your power level externally gated, you can use our ATR43SS-2 that boltup to most of your factory bits, or the SAT version of ATR45 (result appeared on Rb26) can be made as a bolton for RB25det or a SL2.05 in 10cm turbine.

Free of charge. Before taking it off. have a feel of its shaft play. There should be about 1mm side to side and nothing in and out. If that is the case, check your engine breathers. if you do have a catch can, remove it and let breathers breath into atmosphere and see if the problem goes away.
-
We can high flow them to -5 or -9 depending on the HP chasing for. With the damaged -7s I need to have a look at the turbo, the smallest billet wheel that I currently make is in 60mm that made 250rwkws on P98 on my SR20det.
