Yes have seen few R34's has CAS issues. Blah_blah had same problem. Borrow one of a friend and see if the issue goes away. In general there is a 15kws difference in between the SS-2 and Op6 high flows internally gated. Making power is all about how much air could be forcefeed into the engine, and obviously better free flowing engine systems will archive higher outputs. And been reported by autotech that the return flow have dropped 5psi at 20psi across the core, which my PWR cooler had only 0.5 psi differences. It might be some thing worth checking and looking into. But great result on the SS2 with 17psi. That is on an plumb backed system with stock exhaust manifold. Externally gate this turbo on a good high mount manifold can result an gain of an further 40kws

Dyno tuning today with the SS2-Alpha turbocharger on the GTR-33. 1000cc injectors are installed also. Thing are running 100% the first time. I'm still diagnosing the reason for a major boost tapering behavior up top. Could be if the external gate is not set with the right pressure springs or if the compressor wheel is out of efficiency. Peek power made today was 326rwkws @19psi on pump 98 fuel. Quite responsive and drives great on road. Will install a much larger turbo next week to see if that might be affecting the boost ramping behavior after 6000RPM. Xspurt 1000cc drop in injectors:

How To Modify R33 Gtr Airbox To Get More Air :)

And induction pipes will make some differences also. Pretty sure there will be positive gain by replacing stock 2.5 inches rubber to 3 inches metal. -

See that cap, once removed its almost as no air box. -
Funny the L2 reversion wheel is actually too small for the evo. That looked like a reversed TD06H turbine which worked out even better, they must got a well flowed head from factory.

SS15 is in 68mm. For those high flows, one of them would be good enough for 380rwkws on a Rb25det externally gated E85. They would be similar to having two TD06L2-20Gs with alot more power.

Some photos of a pair of our high flowed Greedy T517Z in 10cm Rear for a GTR. Now fitted with our SL20.5 CHRAs and enlarged 36mm internal wastegate. They should be now good enough to reach 500rwkws+. Will update results once tuned.

Yes that would be the anti surge slots that are plug able if you don't like the sound or lag. usually be seeing 300RPM of differences in lag. Congratulations to John Rico taking 1st in Sprint class of WTAC Rear wheel drive. Fastest lap of 1.41.44 310rwkws on Standard 21U high flow with high pressure actuator on E85 fuel 19psi.

It will becomes laggier, So you are trading turbo response to turbo Noise. lol I can make some plug to go with it that you can rise or lower the vacuum cleaner volume, and adjust the amount of response for the amount of noise. It should be super responsive on your 3L now, So I guess it doesn't hurt turn on full volume.

T51R, the maximum I've seen is 646rwkws on E85 Fuel, that was on a LS1 V8 motor. Our ATR46 is actually an larger turbo but not suitable for any thing smaller then a 4L. I can drill some holes on the comp housing and make a SS2 sound much louder

Gt3076R Antics , Better Late Than Never .
hypergear replied to discopotato03's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I've made one my self, Its horribly laggy, I then decided to grind it down to 55mm for drive ability. There is a good reason why GT30x was made with an extra blade in the wheel. Take GTRS reading, using identical blade profile, every 1mm increase in diameter = 150RPM of lag, so you can work it out. -
Some updates. This is the twin turbocharged LS1 VK from Chequrered Tuning that I've recently built the turbochargers for: Final result of 523rwkws @ 3.8psi. Wondering whats 400rwkws by 4000RPM like? Its heading for WTAC comming. will upload videos once available.

The ATR43SS-1, and 1.5 are great turbos for the Rb20det, as it is actually running a T3x turbine housing that has been modified from a T2x. That we can run them with our 55mm turbine wheel using either a 68mm billet compressor or a 71mm cast compressor. We usually see 20psi around 4200RPM that makes any where from 220~250rwkws. If better response is preferred we can also build it in 2860-5 specifications that would be making 20psi around 3900RPM that makes around the 210rwkws mark. To high flow factory RB20det turbocharger, for best response it will has to be a G1 profile. and that will be making 20psi around 4000RPM with around the 200~230rwkws mark depending on how much boost is pumped. You can compare response using the reference from our SR20det evaluation based on the runs that has VCT turned off. Alternatively, if comparing to a RB25det result, the difference in response is about 1000RPM.

We can machine you a IWG .82 rear housing that has a 6 bolt Nissan pattern on the rear, with actuator with bracket supplied, plus the exhaust manifold spacer. In total you will be looking to spend $600.

TD06L2 range doesn't work very well internally gated on Rb25det. Std high flow performed better. SS2 is a better one that is engineered to perform internally gated on Rb25det.

Its a compliance cat, it works extremely well once punched through.

Yes the prototype is running the Steam peddle turbine, same as yours. The Rb26dett engine has a long rev range so the turbocharger must be able to flow that extra bit of air. Evaluating using 60mm turbine, I've notice a huge surge of torque once the external gate opens, this is usually an indication of undersized exhaust end . The turbocharger will not last if left to be, and the engine will not be able to take much timing up top. The steam peddle turbine worked nicely in mid top end, but I felt a short period of flat spot down low. With VNT nozzle ring and CBB cartridge in place, that flat spot is gone. The car comes on positive boost with a lite touch of throttle, and its pretty much driven on boost all times. I'm very positive with the up coming dyno test.

Well, I would like to reach optimum performance levels based on a particular type of engine that I'm working on. The goal of this project would be trying to maintain the factory N1's response while making alot more power. I have spent few more hours today making an custom spring holder for my external gate that packed 4 springs, the lathe have made this job so much easier : Its now hitting boost cut without BC, which is either 17psi or 30psi depending on what Trent set it on . I have also made some little changes on the turbine housing and made it run on oil cooled Ceramic balls. Drive ability wise, this is probably the best single any one's ever made for a GTR in its HP range. I rate it better then the stock twins. Little footage of CBB turbocharger shutting down:

Brae Auto Fabs, Cost $1100. It is custom made to suit this turbocharger, and fitted every thing perfectly. You can find more details about this manifold in page 513.

Might be too small. We've made an 55mm exhaust wheel for RB2630 application, and that should do. For the -11s I meant the 2871s -
Spent some time this weekend evaluating the SS Alpha turbos on the GTR. First thing to notice is the Rb26dett engine do require an large exhaust side to run, It chocked the engine after 5000RPM using the combination of the SS2 turbine wheel in .82 housing. it was replaced it with an large 76mm turbine that I've made for high flows, that worked pretty sweet. The engine bay was noticeably cooler also. Looking abit more serious now . Because the effect of quart throttle, the car has an throw-out effect on throttle movement, this makes an laggy turbo feels not as obvious. The VNT system have made an noticeable torque increase down low, especially on partial throttle opening. This is a bigger turbo compare to the Sl20.5, but definitely feels more responsive to drive. Be interested to see what the dyno says in about a week, I'm currently waiting for some coil packs to turn up from Japan.

Cost $1600 for both. -9 is pretty good to drive if you are targeting around 300rwkws mark, 20psi @ 4200RPM -5 is good enough to do around 400rwkws but, 20psi @ 4600RPM -
