They all boltup using stock lines and factory drain, so fitting up is bit easier then the SS1PU. Will be conducting further evaluations based on this model.
-
I havent had it on my car to max it out yet, but current result does appear to be the case. specially those results are from 20 years old stock engines.
-
I believe That SS1PU's result is a little low, might due to some parts of the setup. Refering to John's 21U's high flow result. It made 320rwkws on E85 with factory setup, same as what SS1PU made on a proper high mount with external gate. The new high flow should make similar power or higher power as the SS1PU. Which I will just have to work on a more responsive and more powerful version of it Another result of a bolton version of SS2 sent in today. from a R34 Skyline using Pump 100 fuel. Final figure of 293rwkws @ 17.5psi And perfect internal gated boost control.
-
I think up 200rwkws @ 15psi is all good The 8 additional psi for 8kws part is not normal. Is the car running a 3inch metal induction pipe? if so try again with exhaust dropped from the cat. Also is VCT enabled with this SR?

I have a SS1PU bolton version built and ready, will make the HP range you are after with minium lag. Can do it for $1300 including oil line. Alternatively you can send in a stock turbocharger for high flow that cost $850 inc oil line, which will also make the HP range with minium lag. Please PM if interested.

I have made a very different rear wheel for the new high flow, it is bigger as the housing is small, the exducer blade has aso been extended to avoid lag, it worked as expected in terms of gain both power and response. I'm very Keen to see what it does with .82 rear housing, will conduct more evaluations after I get back.
-
If its done in July this year then it should be the current profile. The actautor is $100 each including the mount bracket. I can get one out to you in about two weeks time.
-
That is the $850 21U stock housinged high flow, this profile was updated on Junly this year. It managed 320rwkws on E85 so this is about right number for pump 98.

Dyno reading from another customer's R33 Rb25det GTST, Appears to be using the current profiled high flowed 21U Stock turbocharger. 271rwkws on pump 98 fuel and supporting mods. I think the RPM scale is wrong:
-
It's making no difference on dyno with vct plugged or not. Will double check with a smaller turbo that has been dynoed before cam change after I get back.
-
It's now on 490rwkws. Same setup as above with 1200cc injectors. Vct is gone. [][]

Rb25 Turbo Upgrade, All Dyno Results

1996 R33 skyline (SxxRicho) stock engine, factory manifold internally gated on E85 FMIC 650cc injectors PFC HyperGear High flowed Factory R33 turbocharger with heavy duty actuator. Peek power of 320rwkws @ 22psi. -
I must've misunderstood the situation. If it is hitting the housing after you pulling it apart it means the bearing housing didn't sit into turbine housing fully or correctly. You might want to clean up some of the rusts and dirt around with WD40 and try again. Do not put it back into the car the way it is.
-
Yea man. in the city. I got fined for driving 57km/h in a 50km Zone. lol

Planing to hit the strip in few weeks time. hopefully nothing breaks on the tracks. Not sure if its true or not it appears the fastest R33 GTST with a 2.5L engine is from Nismo performance center. its sitting on 9.9sec / 140m/H with 900rwhp, running cross ply tires. If 656rwhp can get me a low 11s in this car I will be pretty happy.

This is the current version I believe those where initiated from Jun 13th this year. And that is for all the recent high flows making decent numbers including few Toshi tuned. I'm pretty happy with this profile, engineered similar to the new SS2s those are also made to handle and hold upper rev boost, and even thou in a tinny R33's turbine housing every thing worked out extremely well. That should put John in the lead now. Looking back compare to the older profile More power, more torque and much better boost control. E85 usually adds 40kws on top of existing power figure. You should be able to get pretty close to 300rwkws with it on E85 with plenty of boost.

Thanks. a member here is designing a whole new website along with the logos at moment. Our website will be launched in few weeks time. and here is some serious stuff. The 1200cc injectors are in, and we maxed out the SS4 Alpha turbocharger this morning at 490rwkws on 27psi of boost. We tried to add more boost in and ignition started to break down. VCT does not make any differences I think I've bought the wrong set of cams. Crazy standing next to it, the engine wants to torque its self free from the gear box, it tilted up at like 50mms out of the engine bay. I don't think my current hardware is capable of handling more safely.

There is a ignition coil distributor in the S1 skylines. Check the wiring on that and make sure this part is working. I had same problem few years ago and that turned out to be the issue.
-
Just come back from Trents. and a little update on our new R33 high flowed turbocharger. This is the result from current standard high flow profile priced at $860 inc oil feeding line. Result take from SxxRicho's R33 skyline, stock engine, factory manifold internally gated on E85 Dumped 2 degrees of timing up top making it extra safe for tracks. Thick red: 322rwkws, Thin red was 312rwkws, Green which is 294rwkws

For the GTR to get the full potential of the VNT system I probably be recommending some thing like two SS1PU in .86 rear housings. I've made one at current stage that is chocking the RB25det down low. How ever might be working perfectly with a 1.25L 3 CYC engine. Just depending on how much room there is to fit the assembly.
-
My goal is to build a bolt on turbocharger for an average RB25det engine, that produces the most power as possible while still drives good. The new SS2 has had bit of thoughts and evaluations to it as it was engineered to work with internal gate, and the results gathered from few customer's cars reviewed that it managed to hold boost pretty well in upper revs, So i think that boost dip might be contributing to the air box, actuator preloading or a boost controller. Any way I found 12kws difference having lid on and lid off when I trailed mine, looking stock does cost power, how ever if this is a road car then that few kws doesn't worth the hassle. Not sure about the roller bearings, how ever the VNT Setup is pretty reliable, After evaluation I can lend it to you for dyno runs for the effects there might be on a RB26det engine. Also it appears the VCT is not responding after the cams change, which I will check that again with Trent. Any one got any feedbacks on adjustable cam gears to the exhaust side?
-
It did take away 12kws in power at 285rwkws with airbox when I trailed it few years ago, and my air box turned burning hot. Just drill holes on the lid. that makes noticeable difference. Boost drop might be relating to it as the box can't flow the amount of air required. That makes the exhaust side hotter as gain higher shaft speed would require much higher energy. I'm going to think about moving the actuator bracket onto the turbine housing end that would leave more room for the compressor housing. Good result for a stock auto, the numbers are higher then I originally anticipated.

Turbo Choice - 2 Litre Straight Six - Non Nissan
hypergear replied to eightsixboy's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
38mm internal gate is standard for all internally gated turbochargers built.
