yeh they are just a bitch of a car. i went out just before coz i cbf waitin for a multimeter to come available (i havent got one yet goddamnit) and i was gonna pull the battery out even tho it was diagnosed as being fine (by the RACV guy) and wen i did, i noticed a bit of crap between the connections... doH! shoulda checked that first, and yeh, problem went away. dud ground was the issue... i wonder if that had anything to do with the dimming headlights ma mum was tellin me about 3 months ago..... lol i knew i shoulda fixed it then, but i was too lazy. thanks anyway guys

yeah im the same, i never had anything given to me. my input for my first car from parents.... zip lol. but the thing is, if u were brought up that way, u really wouldnt appreciate it, if u got alot of money now tho, only now could u really appreciate it coz u know wot its like to have to work for it.

i think hes just sh*t at explainin, and not real consistent in what he says, but from what i was told in person by him and his brother who was in the car (very credible, and i dont doubt his story) was there may have been some words exchanged and the other guy wasnt happy about it, and deliberately drove into andru, what was said and what speed they were doing who knows, but the fact of it still was this idiot in the other car, deliberately hit andru, endangering everyone, including his own wife/girlfirend/sister who was in the car with him, then after it all, this idiot was all happy, havin a smoke, smilin at the cops while he told his story.

if u wanna make sum noise, just pull the plumback hose off the stock one and plug it up (the hose that is) that'll get u makin sum noise, and they dont sound too bad IMO

*** i just posted htis on the ford site and copied, so somethings may not make sense (replies to other ppl) ok, so i've done some of my own diagnostic. it would seem that ANYTHING that makes an electric circuit, will cause the right indicator to flash for about 30 secs. this includes opening doors, opening glovebox (coz its got that little light inside) opening tailgate, just about any switch on the dash will set it off, except the head-unit, this seems to have no effect on it what so ever. the doors locking emselves is very random, and i have no idea wot causes htis. i have found that when the right indicator comes on, its not on the indicator circuit, its on the hazard circuit, and there is nothing i can do to stop em flashing. nomrally u can do anything, it will flash for 30 secs, but if u dont turn on/off, open/close anything, it will stop after the 30 secs, but if the bonnet is open, it will go for 30, stop for about 5 or 10, then start again. i've pulled out just about every realay and i cannot stop it (four next to all the fuses, four under the bonnet. as for the dash lights, its the battery and park break that come on when on acc, and the park break and brake fail when turning key to start.

well, i just got home to find out that ma mums car dont start, and the guy from RACV diagnosed it as an 'electrical fault', im guessin a short circuit sumwhere, but not sure. its an EA falcon 50th anniversary 3.9 (not multipoint )the symptoms are as follows: car wont start light beside tailgate switch keeps flashing (the lock/unlock switch on the dash) right indicator comes on nothing displays on radio face, but backlight comes on central locking tries to lock the car intermitantly i dont know anything about the immobiliser, and have no idea where it is exactly. the alarm has been disconnected coz it went off one day a few years back, and we just cut all the wires off the back of it to shut it up. theres a seperate switch hidden away to kill the imobiliser, its not a remote key for the alarm and imobiliser (hence just ripping the alarm out as we couldnt stop it) so normally we can start the car if the immobiliser does kick in for whatever reason. but the switch dont do sh*t i have quite a good understanding about cars, but not this side of it , so gurus, please help PS- sorry if this is in the wrong section

might not be the best places to post this but thile everyone is arguing about bush vs ball bearing, is it true that ball bearing turbos cannot be rebuilt? and if so, why not? what are advantages and disadvantages of both normal and ball bearing?

how much does a whole vlt motor go for? how much would it cost to do the conversion to an rb25 head and turbo it? might be worth considering an rb20... was talkin with a mate the other day, he just bought an rb20 for his 260Z, bought it for 990 with turbo and loom (so he says), and those motors are fairly easy to modify, although there will be a big lump of nothing down low....

thats what i thought, coz with bigger wheels, they are moving faster, but only at the outer edges, and not only that, the comp wheel itself is physically bigger, meaning it would move more air with one rotation. think of a recirculating fans, the ones u used before u had aircon in the house, i've got two right here, one thats about 50cm across( big floor standing one), and one thats about 20cm (like a littel desktop one). the small one spins very fast and makes heaps of noise and moves moderate amounts of air, the big one is lazy, spins slower, makes less noise (well, a deeper noise anyway) and moves heaps of air. i know a room fan isnt a turbo, but thats my train of thought on it anyway
