  1. holy crap u get sum nice ass cars! i must ask though, have u test driven an M3 or 996 turbo? it would seem you could afford one...
  2. what is this article on how to break into skylines? or is it one of those 'if you locked your keys in your car' type articles? sounds like an interesting read. i'm not a car thief, these are just things i like to know about, so where can i see it/get a copy?
  3. yeh its kinda noisy, but i like it like that, for me, cafes are as much about atmosphere as anything else
  4. shine and airstream in glenny are alright too
  5. if its happening when ur slowing down etc, maybe something with the crown and pinion, like when u accelerate, the gears mate nice and normal, when u back off, and the car is being slowed by the 'box, the stress might be on the opposite face on the teeth on the crown wheel... : if that makes sense... i dont know if thats really logical, its something that just came to me then... other than that, have u checked ur oil levels in the diff, how old is the oil? somebody said before about the R200 not borg warner thing, im assuming u transplanted the rb25 into a R31.
  6. comp lockup? goin from 5th to '3rd'? is this because u had to move the shifter sooo far to the left that u missed 3rd? just pullin it down out of 5th, shouldnt it just go back to the centre by itself? u'd have to physically push it further to get to 1st or was it a hurried shift?
  7. thanks paulr33. i knew that boost is not an indication of power, i know a gt30 at half the boost will make more the same, or more power, i just didnt understand how. but with a bigger turbo, it will spin slower, generate less heat, and with less heat u will physically need more air in the same space to generate the same pressure, i think... this is what i never understood. my train of thinking before was that the amount of air was the same, because same boost, same manifold, same ic piping, so i figured same volume. wrong! thanks again
  8. mx83 cressiadas are about 5-10k (10k grande model with all the fruit) about another grand for the motor, and a whole lot of f*cking around fettin it to fit. why not just go buy a celsior, look at this one VIP style i rkn about 10k all up, and a much nicer car by the looks of it. thats just what i'd do personally, save the mx83 for 1j conversion
  9. could some-one explain this to me, as i never understood it. psi/bar/kpa is pressure, not cfm (actual amount of flow), so how can there physically be more air if theres the same pressure? if u had a stock turbo, or a T88H-38GK, if the boost signal is being taken from the same point, with the same amount of pressure, how do the big turbos flow more? i know they do, i dont doubt htis, i just dont understand it. back to the main point, 14psi is less than 1.0bar, do u really think the stock turbo will fail this low? dont pay 2 grand to get your turbo hi-flowed, try one of the KKR-480s, there like $900, dump pipe 150 to suit it, and there are dyno graphs of RB25 making 263rwkw (albeit at 19psi). bosche pump about $400, bigger injectors, power fc, front mount should do it, then clutch tyres suspension brakes. not much ey oh yeah, and the turbos come with a 6 month warranty too
  10. well, both wheels should turn the same way, so thats a good start. borg warners are always noisy, althought htis noise i dont often here of.. just thrash it till it blows up and replace it with an aftermarket diff/weld it up, ether that or ring a diff specialist, they should have som indication of what it might be
  11. yeh i wanna see these guys get scammed. ask them for there details so u can deposit the money, then clean em out lol or, go one better.... hunt the f*ck down, introduce him to aggrivated assault.... not that i condone violence in any way, this is not the right course of action, just one of many unfortunate possibilities...
  12. definately deaden the doors, deaden the boot too, it may not get rid of every rattle, but your system will sound a hundred times better
  13. whats the point of even cutting it down, simply grab the shifter lower down and u'll get the exact same effect, althought it wont look like a short shifter. that is assuming u wanna grab actual gearstick itself, rather than the shift knob. do u prefer to grab shaft or knob
  14. what sorta LSD u got? arent aftermarket LSD's known for being loud n clunky?
  15. i think he means how far the lateral movement is, ie the shifter may move abour 3" left to right, when shifting 2nd to 3rd, but from 4th to 5th, the shifter has to be moved right about 4-5". if so, i've noticed this too (not a 34 gt-r tho). note those measurements are not accurate, just an example
  16. in that first pic, isnt that spoiler a nismo option from the factory, albeit not very popular (undestandably)
  17. any interior shots? whats it like to drive with that clutch? looks pretty sweet, with those stickers (and the 2 way LSD), its got a kinda drift appeal
  18. nismo large slave? it this the slave cylender for the clutch pedal... as this has always been an idea running through my head, so you could have a twin or triple thats as light on the pedal as a stock clutch, but i've never actually heard of anyone doing this, let alone companies making upgraded cylenders. i've never really driven anything with a twin or triple in it (only sat in cars with em, so i know how heavy they can get) how hard do they bite compared to normal clutches while engaging during normal driving? i'd imagine they would be pretty smooth as opposed to sumthin like a button or puck style clutch
  19. can't imagine that there woulda be much, it should all bolt right up. go find a low km '26, give it a good service, change all fluids etc, maybe upgrade the clutch if need be, upgraded fuel pump too maybe. not sure, but i guessin exhaust dump/front/cat shoud line up, but again, i dunno bout this 100%
  20. what brought on the rebuild? smash? drift car? race car? just a tough street car? what basic specs u gettin it built to?
  21. think i'd rather have the VX commo in the background with the monaro style lights. the interior on the accord seems really tacky with the switches n pressure guage, considering they've gone so far with the outside of the car. looks like they've just used a self tapper through the woodgrain panels
  22. yeah saw this a while ago, but its still damn impressive, power to weight ration of about 1.2:1. i love seein him hold it sideways across that top corner looks insane
  23. so what would be involved in getting a car from there over here? same as getting one from japan? is compliance the same, or easier? we're on the same continent at least, and arent laws etc pretty similar between here and there?
  24. LOL me too, but now being 17, im pushin 6'5" and 150. anyway, back on topic, anyone know what are the good and bad advanced driving courses out there. hopefully getting my P's in a few months, and as soon as i do, i want to go do a few courses, like start off with defensive, then move onto advanced car control, but are all of em good? are there any courses out there known for being sh*t? i want to get as much experience as i can, would it be better to get more normal driving experience on the road before going to these, or would it be better to go learn from the pros first?
