VB- replied to popeye132's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
im pretty sure you can get them registered legally, but its alot of f*cking around, and cost wise i dont know if it will be much cheaper than buying one and importing it under the normal rules. -
Would Fitting Just A Front Bar Look Weird?
VB- replied to R34NRG's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
agreed, big front bars, especially on there own dont look that good. front bar and skirts minimum IMO -
the main 'dont' when it comes to capacitors is buying/using/installing one in the first place. while i haven't much experience with these, i believe what the pro's write. take a look on car audio australia as to what they say about caps.. a general consesis is 'uterly useless' if u want to stop lights dimming, upgrade all earths, get a better battery, upgrade charge wire from alternator to battery, make sure all ground/connections are clean with good contact

not a bad effort at all PS- nice rims

when people go out and do these sorts of things, its not good, but whatever, when they involve other people, its just ludicrous. i think it must be said "owning a ferrari doesnt make you a ferrari driver"

this happened to me too, except it was done on a wet night on an empty road, no fence, just a gutter. 10 grand later and my mates back on the street! As for the accident that started it all, im 17 myself, and live in the area, lived in dandy for 16 years (now in hampton park), my dad lives in doveton, about 10-15 houses away from the accident, and i might have even known this person. i DO feel sorry for em, especially the family, but i mean, they were doing a runner, and couldnt outrun a cop, so he needs more driver trining? so maybe he would have gotten away the other night, his mate would live, then today, when a cop flicks his lights on, he tells his passengers not to worry, hes outrun cops before, he can do it agian, then he tries a runner again, except this time when he f*cks up, he kills you or your wife/kids.... i dont even know if i agree with my own point here but its something to think about

yeh i gotta agree, i dont go there but my friends do, too many drug f*cked c*nts

(qld) Nissan Skyline R31 Modified
VB- replied to phatzone31's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
damnit... if only you were in Vic... roughyl how many kms on the engine/gearbox and what about the rest of the car? good luck with the sale tho, looks damn good for the price. -
uuhhhh, it was a lambo he cut the roof off. 30's have been around for a while, i remember seeing em in an old mag a few years back, although they werent fitted to a car then. i dont see why you would buy a H2, then put 150k rims on it when you could buy 2 more H2s and go cruisin wit da homiez, but thats just me...
-
actually, a 33 with catback will probly beat a vn ss.... lol i just find it so ammusing that its always idiots in civics/excels etc that try to coax a race out of you most, very ammusing actually

i always thought that it was a build up of pressure, coz the compressor is still spinning wen u back off the throttle, and still forcing more air in, and the air trying to escape is met with heaps more air being forced in, then the pressure builds up to much and slows the compressor while the pressurised air escapes, then when the pressure drops, more air is still fed in by the compressor, pressure builds up again, and slows the compressor and goes through it all again. kinda like the overboost valve on idny cars, except its just going back through the turbo rather than a valve if u get me? pressure builds up to much, it gets released, and then when the pressure drops, the valve closes (the turbos compressor is spinning at speed, forcing air in while there is lower pressure in the inlet piping/coller etc) this is a sh*tty example but its the only thing i could think of to give you an idea of what i mean lol im not good at explaining things, but i do try aint that worth sumthin?

shaft owuldnt have slack in it. when you say backwards and forwrds, do you mean rotation wise? or laterally, from compressor to exhaust turbine? no i dont have anything to back this up, its what i was taught, and i believe it, to me it makes sense.
-
sorry, i didnt word it very well. i didnt mean that the compress will spin backwards, but the wheel is forced towards the turbine wheel. if you were looking at the intake, it would be forced backwards. oh and as for the slowing of the blades and pushing it back, it wouldnt just sound like a normal BOV, from my understanding, the pressure builds up, causes the comp wheel to slow down, force it back a bit, then this relieves the pressure, and comp wheel will speed up again, comp wheel will come back into place, then the pressure builds up again and so on

fluttering under very liht load/acceleration is normal, and shouldnt do any harm, if its wen u jump off the throttle while making alot of boost and it still does it, you need to reduce preload on the spring as its too tight, and as has been said its the air going back through the turbo that makes the fluttering noise, and as well as causing compressor surge, it will also shorten the life of your turbo, or so i've been taught. when the pressure builds up and has nowhere to go (blow off valve not setup right/not working/no blow off valve) and it makes its way back through the compressor, its will either momentarily stop/slow the compressor while the build up or air escapes, but the shaft is still trying to twist the compressor at 100-200,000rpm, and this happens 5, 10, or 20 times, every time u let off the throttle. the other possibility is that the compressor will keep spinning at speed, but actually be forced backwards into the turbo (not necesarily causing contact) so the air can escape infront of it. and now im going to make myself look really stupid, and tell that yes, i actually like the fluttering sound too, especially on VLs. A stock VL turbo, with a massive cooler, and no blow-off valve. love it!

get a rental car for 3 weeks... or a really big bullbar? a rental might be expensive, but just condier it. how much are those roo things anyway? i think i saw RACV were renting echos for like $38 a day, about 800 for 3 weeks.... are u going to stay there while uw ork, or make the trek every day? might be worth usin public transport? PS - just rememebr rent a bomb or whatever, its like $10 a day. just drive (ie thrash) one of those bombs for 3 weeks

i kinda dissagree here, although commonsense is one of the biggest in being a safe driver, having on road experience is what keeps you out of trouble. dont forget, it doesnt have to be your fault to be in an accident, and it infuriates me (probly more than anything else on the road, including tailgaters) when im in the car with my friends, and i can see something is about to happen, where normally i would slow and stop, they just keep driving, have a near miss and say "it was that guys fault", as though they did nothing wrong. if you (not you IH8VEE8S, just anybody reading this) are one of those people that says "well it was his fault anyway" when you could have easily avoided it, then you are a f*cking idiot. you could kill yourself, your passengers, people in the other car, and even send the driver of the other car to jail (when its probly a nice enough person that just made a mistake) i'm sorry, its just something that popped into my head and i had to get that out. i also just wanna make it clear, i'm not having a go at you in any way IH8VEE8S. rant over!
-
again i entirely agree with you, more time lookin at the speedo means less time spent lookin at the road. of all the accidents that happen on the road (more so in residential areas) i wanna know how many ppl look down at there speedo, then look up to find a pedestrian on their bonnet

r32 gts-turbo: your absolutely right! "now, lets change one thing" and wipe 5km/h off, WHY NOT STOP THE BUMB B*TCH WALKING OUT INFRONT OF THE CAR! Ronin 09: yes i think they were all in the car, but hitting a pole in a skyline, they would be alot better off than in a laser. it would seem they were not speeding, so even if they were in a nice slow car, the accident could stilll have happened. it just said they hit a pole, there was nothing about speeding or doing stupid things. its all of you that are continuing with the stereotype of skyline drivers being hoons. in this case even the media didnt persue the "imports make you a hoon" thing. i didnt even see mention of it being a skyline in that article. and what is a 'low powered vehicle exactly, by your definition? was this car turbo? has anyone got any evidence of this, i even think non-turbos are legal under vic roads' rules, and from my personal experiences, non turbos really do suck, yes u can still get them out of shape, but u really have to try, as opposed to turbos where u have to be careful NOT to lose it
-
whats it goin to be used for? drag car? track? street....? what other details are there for the car so far, transmission, suspension/brakes/wheels/tyre set up?
-
the 'pop up in dash' i've only even seen in the GT-R, i've never seen it in a GTt. so if you want one i guess look for a place that sells R34 GT-R parts

a mate of mine got a quote bout 2 months ago for his system, which consisted of an Alpine head unit (800-900 from memory), Focal front splits (about $800 worth, i htink they were the 165K2) and MRV-F545, with the new Type R sub, in the Alpine designed inclosure ($6-700) the quote, installed with sound deadened doors was about 4k all up, which i THINK would sound better than the all Alpine system (havent heard both side by side obviously). ooohhhhh how the focals sounded was soooo sweet.
