    skyline after market cruise control
  2. Mines going to prestige as soon as I can do without it for three days.... Nobody else seems to be in that much of a hurry, and talking to prestige I'm not sure a group buy is going to fly - particularly before they do the first one, as they want to see what they have to do.. Ian
  3. I haven't read it anywhere, but that sounds about right (My R34 is a M-AT). If anything, it seems a bit faster than .9 - an you just get into the hang of upshifting a bit before you want to, and downshifting when you do want to (it is very fast). Works very well - most people underestimate the M-AT, it's nothing like the R33 (or S1) auto box! Ian
  4. Good question - unless they aren't grabbing fast enough (they should be) and they aren't fading (ie you aren't using them a lot ie out at the track etc) wouldn't you be better spending the money on suspension and tires - both of which will improve braking? Or have I missed something obvious?
  5. My wife likes the stagea and the r34, then again she has like all the fast cars I have owned and doesn't care what I spend on a car.... And before you all ask, all her sisters are married and she isn't planning (that I know of) to leave me anytime soon..
  6. That would have been mine, as I'm sure you know.. :-) yeah, even more ugly than the red ones.. But I supose I'll keep it.. :-) Ian
  7. Hmm, given that I have a r34 GTT and manual s2 stagea, maybe I should comment... Different cars for different purposes... I've now got the stagea because of the family and the ability to carry stuff. Originally I'd got the 4 door GTT for the same reason (much more usefull than the 2 door, and they are on the same frame + driveline etc, so everything else is the same!) However, I found that by the time I but a big pusher in the boot, and a few people in the back, we had run out of room... So for space, the stagea. But the GTT is 200kg lighter, has much bigger brakes etc, and just seems to cruise better.. :-) And being 4 door, doesn't get much cop attention either.. So a hard call, ie if you need space get the stagea, if you only normally drive with one other person and don't carry much, get the R34... We have ended up using the stagea so much (hardly ever get out by myself anymore) I'm going to sell the R34 - I'll miss it, but it just doesn't fit the family as well as the stagea... :-( Ian
  8. I'm pretty sure that it is the current internal temperature..
  9. Anybody want the firestone ones? Else I'll be putting them on my trailer!
  10. There is in the model code - series 1's were E-W* where series 2's where GF-W* ie see http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/nissan/stagea/. Of course, the SHOULD have called the series 1's W*33, and the series 2 W*34, given the fact there isn't anything in a series one that came from a 34! Ian
  11. Given that is the first post by that ID, and their link is straight to autostyle, you have to wonder about how genuine that comment is.. Care to comment about what your association with them is, and what stagea you drive?
  12. Yes, the S is the "sports" manual I've had quite a few people tell me that the front seats in my S are different to the four V, but I'm not sure - it could just be a series 1 vs series 2 difference. And that is the LSD as well, as you could get that on a series 2 four V. (see http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/nissan/stagea/) So we need to find someone in melbourne with a series 2 "V" and I'll go and compare my "S".. Ian
  13. Given I've got two of them (one in the R34, the other in the Stagea) if there is any external way (without pulling the engine out!) that I can get some numbers or whatever for you, let me know... Ian
  14. Yep - I had my left leg out of action for about 9 months a few years ago, rapidly got the hang of changing gears without the clutch... Not that hard when you have to! Ian
  15. ah that. Is it still as corrupt as it used to be? When I lived in sydney (quite a few years ago) the local service station would give you one (for a fee) and wouldn't even look at the car (you could ride down on the bike and get the car one!)... Ian
  16. Is the pink slip you are talking about the roadworthy? If so, why were you having one done - has the car just been complied or are you selling it..?? Ian
  17. Ah, finally a stagea owner (excluding myself) who was at least born AFTER I started to drive, though he still would have been in nappies… And if you think you've slowed down between 20 and 30, wait a bit longer...
  18. Good point, I suspect that more than one mistress is going to see the inside of the back of a stagea (after all, that's why the glass is so dark). Ian.
  19. Surely you jest 4wd of course (It's a 25t RS FOUR S) ie http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/21830/ But remember I have a LSD, which might be helping me a lot - with previous cars I've noticed an enormous difference on dirt with or without a LSD.. I have a front torque gauge so can tell how much (and when) is going to the front. Even on loose dirt I don't have trouble with power going to the front instantly when needed, so don't feel any need for a switch to go 50:50… Which is probably why they didn't put one...
  20. You don't need a 'snow' button when you have the 'gear stick' one.. With most autos (not sure if true with the stagea) all the snow button does is shift where the auto changes gears... As for it locking in 4 wheel drive, you don't really need that, the stagea gets the power to the front very fast if the back wheels look like slipping, ie if I floor it at the lights in 1st , when I'm on a wet rd, the front torque (remember I have a gauge) cuts in pretty much at once anyway... It's also smart enough on dirt as well.. Ian
  21. it was the last one of those I was referring to, as it is up at the start of the post.. Next time we should all go, and I'll even wash my car and enter it in the 'other' category! Have a read of the post, mine is mentioned from here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...0entry1618230 Ian
  22. Mines a series 2 - so it has the NEO RB25DET (with the upgraded turbo and intercooler). ie it's the same as my R34. :-) I think it was the bayside blue that attracted people.. :-) Ian
  23. I suppose if they have been advertising it for a few months it probably would be here by now!! :-)
  24. Last time I looked around it was about $100 cheaper than getting installed by the local auto electrician, I just gave it to him to do instead...Can't remember where that was though (just buying the unit), and for the cheapest price you'd get it off the net from the USA. If you like, I'll get the exact model number off the one in my R34. Ian
  25. I had a good look at these before buying mine, and decided against it.. Main problem was that they didn't make it in a manual, and the NEO RB25DET in mine is a well known and understood beast in Aus, where I wasn't sure about the VQ25DET - details were hard to find... So I don't know if you're gaining much going to the NM35's from the later (post june 2000) GF_WGNC34's... :-) Ian - and yes, I still haven't had time to upload my picks from saturday... - and I went to the show and shine on Sunday - there was a LOT of interest in my stagea (wife was out in the R34 so I couldn't take that), I drove it in and parked it with the parked cars - not the cars in the comp - and it rapidly had a crowd around it... In fact it was the third photo put up from the day - see http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=89590
